If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/10/12

Well, what a birthday celebration we had last night. It was just the three of us, but we made pizzas for dinner, had a special birthday dessert (My kid hates cake… Who hates cake?!), and played Uno and In a Pickle. It was fun. Plus, I got to watch a new episode of Castle. It doesn’t get much better than that! There’s some great stuff on tonight, too, so check out what we think you should watch!

I still really love watching Body of Proof. They do a good job of making Megan getting more in touch with her human side, rather than the almost robotic doctor she had become before she had to quit due to the problem with her hand. Almost every week, we see a little growth, or just a different side to her personality. Like last week, she dealt a lot with her young teenage daughter’s insecurities and wanting to change how she looked and dressed. It hit Megan hard, and I just wanted her to realize that there was something going on besides just what it seemed was obvious. And there was. I loved the talk between the two at the end. Another great part of the episode was all the stuff between Curtis and Ethan, and Ethan and Dani/Peter. I want Peter and Megan together, but he’s cute when he’s with Dani. Of course, the previews for tonight show a LOT of tension between Megan and Peter over the case, and that’s always fun. 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Shades of Blue,” when an undercover cop is found executed at a truck stop, the search for the killer hits close to home. Brett Cullen (Make It or Break It, The Gates), Deirdre Lovejoy (Bones, The Wire), and Ransford Doherty (guest starred multiple times on Body of Proof, The Closer) guest star.

Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Body of Proof @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/13/11

Tuesday is one of the most anticipated nights on TV, and it’s always for good reason. You’ve got plenty of shows that will help be the bandaid for your grueling work week. It’s never easy starting another week of work, but with the promise of some escapism just hours away, the clock seems to tick faster. Don’t spend your time watching the hands fly by all day long; just fantasize about the worlds, places, and people you’ll get to vicariously know and love when you tune in to your favorite shows.

Last week on Glee, Sectionals went down, and it was of epic proportion. New Directions battled the Trouble Tones for the winning spot, and New Directions came out on top. Rachel was not allowed to perform, due to her election scandal, and New Directions was stuck in the lurch, trying to figure out what to do to take the crown. Finn and Rachel found Sam and brought him back to McKinley, where he re-enrolled. Quinn finally realized the errors of her ways after a pep talk from Rachel, and the ladies of the Trouble Tones joined forces with New Directions. Tis the season, and tonigh,t the Gleeks celebrate a very Gleekmus. Don’t miss a moment.

Tonight, on an all new Glee, the club members face a tough decision when they are asked to perform in two different places at the very same time.

Watch an all new episode at 8/7c on FOX! Learn where to find episodes online of Glee @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/6/11

I’m so excited about tonight’s new television. There are so many good shows on tonight that my DVR is packed full! We are less than 3 weeks from Christmas now. That means shows will taper off quickly for the winter break, so watch em while you can!

There’s so much on tonight, but the first thing I have to recommend is the season finale of Covert Affairs. I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it is fantastic for some many different reasons. There is a huge development in the relationship between Annie and her sister, and aside from the flashback episode where he lost his sight, tonight is the most emotional and brilliant episode for Auggie. This whole season, we’ve dealt with Annie telling Danielle about being in the CIA and the fallout from that, as well as a new relationship for Auggie with the sister of the soldier in Auggie’s unit that died on the same mission he lost his sight. It’s been a great season and it all leads up to tonight’s finale. If you’re a fan, you don’t want to miss it. It’s a nail-biter and just a terrific episode all the way around!

On tonight’s episode, “Letter Never Sent,” while on vacation in Stockholm with Danielle, Annie is asked to courier a package to a gala for the CIA. But after Danielle is mistaken for Annie at the event, it becomes clear that Annie’s mission has put both their lives in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Auggie visits the doctor and Jai has a run in with his father, Auggie, and Arthur. Rena Sofer, Gregory Itzin and Joakim Natterqvis guest star.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/29/11

It’s kind of a big night for TV, with some great new episodes of fan favorites. Are you excited for the new episodes on FOX, or part 1 of the season finale of Sons of Anarchy on FX? We want to recommend some great episodes tonight, so read on!

Last week’s Covert Affairs was great, because the case tied in so well with Annie’s life. Things with her sister, Danielle, have been incredibly tense since the end of last season, when Annie read Danielle in on the whole CIA secret. Not unexpectedly, Danielle took it hard, mostly because she felt Annie had knowingly endangered her daughters. Sure, the lying was a part of it, but I think Danielle was mostly worried about her girls. I gotta say, that was the only reason I wasn’t really pissed off with the way she reacted. If it had been me, I’d have probably reacted that way, too! So when Annie had to deal with an asset who was being lied to by her sister and father, she sympathized. We didn’t get a ton of Auggie last episode, but I think that will change this episode. I KNOW it will change next week. I’m not sure I’ve been this worried about a season finale as I am about next week’s Covert Affairs. Eek! Hopefully, tonight won’t be too scary!

On tonight’s new episode, “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?” Annie allows herself to be recruited by an MI6 operative in the hopes of finding out why MI6 is spying in the United States. Tony Curran guest stars.

Check it out tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Covert Affairs @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/22/11

First, I want to pay a special shout out to my little brother, who is celebrating a birthday today. Happy Birthday, bubba! Now on to the good stuff… Did anyone watch Castle last night? It was truly a brilliant episode, and if you missed it, I really do feel sorry for you! There’s some great stuff on tonight, too, so Megan & I are here to share with you what we think you should watch. 🙂

Last week’s Covert Affairs featured two relationships center stage: Annie and Eyal (Oded Fehr) had their normal flight/flirt time whenever they are together, culminating in Annie showing up at the bar at the end of the episode, only to be disappointed when Eyal didn’t show (surprise… *rolls eyes* Ok, so as much as I love Oded Fehr, I’m not a fan of Eyal’s…); meanwhile, Auggie learned Parker, the woman he’s been seeing (the sister of his deceased Army buddy), is supposed to leave in a few months to go to Eritrea for her Peace Corp assignment. He really started worrying, because it’s a very dangerous place—so much so that he went to Joan to try and convince her to change Parker’s assignment. I thought that was a huge no-no, and then I was relieved at the end of the episode, when instead of bringing Joan back the form she needed, he brought her a “close and continuing relationship” form instead, saying he had four months and he was going to make them count. Even though I’m a firm Annie/Auggie shipper, I have to admit I loved Auggie’s happiness after that statement!

On tonight’s episode, “Horse to Water,” after an asset is killed in Russia, the CIA begins to suspect that an imprisoned CIA analyst is receiving assistance from his daughter, so Annie is tasked with following the woman and studying her actions.
