If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/7/13

It’s a great night of TV tonight, and there are lots of shows we’d love to recommend. It’s just Megan and me, as Kyle is out of town (out of the country, even!) at the Syfy set visits and JJ is dealing with having little to no internet this week. So we’re gonna do our best to let you know our top pick for the night. It’s a hard choice!

bones107smallBones is ramping up already. Last week, the team had to deal with the Estrellas Locas gang. It was an interesting case, but damn, it was heartbreaking when the mother hit her son and berated him for killing the guy. The kid was devastated. I loved that the team all rallied around him. Brennan has grown so much since season one, and to see her reaction was great. Sweets has been on somewhat of a vacation/sabbatical as he tries to figure out what he’s doing with his professional life. Thankfully, Sweets will be back this week, and the Pelant story line, which has been almost dragging on, is coming to a head. So cross your fingers that everyone comes out okay after this week!

On tonight’s episode, “The Sense in the Sacrifice,” Pelant’s return leads the team to scheme against him with Special Agent Hayes Flynn’s help, and when they execute the plan to steal Pelant’s spotlight, it causes the death of someone close to Booth. Sweets is convinced Agent Flynn has lied to everyone.

Find out who dies and what Sweets thinks Flynn has lied about tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing How I Met Your Mother, We Are Men, 2 Broke Girls, Sleepy Hollow, The Blacklist, & Castle.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/23/13

After a dramatic episode of Bones last night, my nerves are absolutely raw. Couple that with spending hundreds of dollars on clothes & shoes for my sister’s wedding at the end of May, and I’m reading to relax with some great television tonight, so let’s see what’s on, shall we? 🙂

ncis423smallThis season of NCIS has been an emotional one. The last episode was no different. A Navy reservist came home to find blood, a ransacked house, and a missing husband. I figured out before they did that the husband’s disappearance was a setup. He’d arranged for it so he could get away with money he’d stolen, and he killed the man who’d helped him in the process. When the wife confronted her husband, my heart broke. She was so angry and so hurt, and it showed. On the Ziva story, Tony found out that McGee has been helping her track Ilan Bodner, the man responsible for her father’s and Director Vance’s wife’s death. Ziva finally went to Gibbs to tell him everything she’d been doing, said she’d tracked Bodner to somewhere in Europe. In the end, he told her to take Tony and go find them. That’s against the CIA’s directive, but none of them, including Vance, care. It’ll be interesting to see if Tony & Ziva grow closer and if they find Bodner this week…

On tonight’s episode, “Berlin,” while the NCIS team investigates the murder of a Mossad officer in Virginia, Tony and Ziva depart for Berlin as they track her father’s killer. Oded Fehr, Alan Dale, & Marina Sirtis (Orli Elbaz, the new Massad Director) guest star.

To see if Tony and Ziva can find their man, tune in to CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hell’s Kitchen, 19 Kids & Counting, Counting Cars, NCIS: LA, Who Gets the Last Laugh, & Body of Proof.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/27/12

Now that we’re coming to the end of November, how many of you have started putting up Christmas lights and decorations? We haven’t yet, but we plan to soon. Maybe we’ll be able to get the tree up this weekend. What about you guys? There’s some great TV on to enjoy while you decorate or not. So we’re here to give you our fantastic opinions on what you should be watching. 😉 *grin*

I’m so excited. Tonight is the fall premiere for Rizzoli & Isles on TNT. This has been one of my favorite shows since it first started, so I’m thrilled it’s back. On the summer finale, bodies were popping up all over town sealed inside statues. It was pretty gross when the statue started bleeding… The killer turned out to be Maura’s new beau, guest star Eddie Cibrian, who was killing women because of his mother. He had his sight set on Maura, but Jane and crew got there in time to save her. Aside from the case, Frankie wasn’t made a detective—that honor went to the cop who had been undercover when she moved in across from Jane and started playing Frankie and Frost. And finally, Lydia went into labor, and that’s when Tommy found out he was most likely going to be a father.

I can’t wait to see how the story line with Tommy and Lydia plays out and see if Angela is able to be a grandmother finally or not—and whether or not she can put aside her feelings for Lydia, who is the woman Angela’s husband cheated with.

On tonight’s episode, “Class Action Satisfaction,” Jane and Maura must delve deep into an investigation involving a mysterious poisoning at a cafe. Stanley reveals his true feelings during an investigation. Tommy and Lydia enter into a custody battle. Korsak has an encounter with his ex-wife.

Don’t miss the drama tonight on TNT at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Rizzoli & Isles @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, Raising Hope, Ben & Kate, NCIS: LA, Dancing with the Stars, The New Normal, Chef Race: U.K. vs U.S., Chopped, Leverage, Sons of Anarchy, & Flashpoint.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/16/12

It’s a bit of a slower night tonight because of the political debate. I’ll be SO glad when November has come and gone. I’m so tired of politics and all the crap that goes with it—especially all the ads on TV and making me miss shows! *grump* Even so, there’s some great stuff on tonight (including the return of Covert Affairs, which is reaching high points in drama!), so check out what we think you should be watching, and be sure to let us know if you’re going to take our genius advice. 😉

I’m particularly excited about tonight’s season premiere of Flashpoint on ION. It started airing a few weeks ago in Canada (lucky Megan!), but for the US viewers, tonight’s our first chance to get a look at the team after last season’s tense finale. Poor Parker has been put through the wringer emotionally. Team One’s leader was having problems in his personal life, but he’s finally begun mending fences with his teenage son. The relationship between Sam and Jules was discovered, and we thought they might be told they had to split—either personally or professionally—but at the end of the finale, Parker gave them the news that they were able to stay together and stay on Team One, which is awesome. Ed is still working on the team, and things with his wife are better than they were. The finale left off with the team and their families at the annual team picnic, where everything was great. Even Wordy was there. I hope that doesn’t mean bad things are headed our way for season five… Eek!

On tonight’s premiere, “A Broken Peace,” with help from the fugitive’s daughter, Team One searches the city in pursuit of James Mitchell, an armed and extremely volatile man who is hunting his ex-wife. Ed is forced to take a tragic shot that he was not prepared to take.

Don’t miss the pulse-pounding action tonight on ION at 11/10c. Learn where to find episodes online of Flashpoint @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Raising Hope, Dancing with the Stars, Ben and Kate, 19 Kids & Counting, Chopped, Covert Affairs, Chef Race: U.K. vs U.S., & Sons of Anarchy.

If We Control Your Remote… 10/2/12

What a great Monday night of TV last night. I swear, this season is making me smile so hard. Tonight is going to do the same, I just know it. There’s a ton of great stuff on, so check out what we recommend. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

Last week’s Sons of Anarchy was so heartbreaking. I did not want Opie to die. I really loved him. If any of the four deserved to die, it was Tig, obviously. I’m not sure there’s anything redeeming about his character—maybe loyalty, but I dunno. Watching Jax watch Opie die was just one of the most heart-wrenching things I’ve seen in a while. And don’t even get me started on Gemma. What a piece of work she is. She & Clay deserve each other, that’s all I can say. I can’t wait to see if either or both of them go down this season. Gah. And Pope? Yowzers. Burning a young girl alive while her father watched a few weeks ago and then sending one of the guys to their death last week? He’s a really nice guy, huh?

On tonight’s episode, “Stolen Huffy,” (what a benign episode title! LOL) complications arise as the Sons band together to face a new adversary.

Don’t miss all the drama tonight on FX at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Sons of Anarchy @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Dancing with the Stars, NCIS, Raising Hope, Ben and Kate, 19 Kids & Counting, NCIS: LA, Go On, The New Normal, Abby & Brittany, Chef Race: U.K. vs U.S., Chopped, & Vegas.
