If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/28/12

What a week it’s been. I’ve had a sinus infection for a couple of days, but that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the great TV that’s been on this week. I’m having trouble picking a favorite episode, but I still love the Castle premiere. There are quite a few ranked right up there, though! There’s more great stuff on tonight, so read on to find out what we recommend. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

It seems like the last two seasons, the fate of CSI: NY has hung in the balance, so the writers decided to do the same, putting up a cliffhanger or whatever. Last season, Mac was shot and spent some of the episode in limbo with his ex-wife, trying to decide if he was going to fight to live or if he was going to give up. He ended up fighting to live, and the team ended up catching the shooter. Then it flash-forwarded to six months later, with Mac re-joining the team out in the field. If the series had ended then, it might have been an okay finale, but I’m very glad it didn’t. It’s hard for me to remember that I didn’t watch this show for the first couple of seasons. I love it so much now, and I’m really glad it’s back tonight. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Reignited,” the CSI team is called upon to investigate when a local fire chief who was also a friend of Mac’s, is killed in a blaze that used the same technique as a recently-paroled arsonist, leaving the team in the line of fire during the investigation. Rob Morrow (Numb3rs) guest stars.

Don’t miss all the drama tonight on CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI: NY @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blue Bloods, Made in Jersey, Haven, & Grimm.

Interview with Emily Rose, Eric Balfour, Lucas Bryant, & Executuve Producer Lloyd Segan from Haven

Tonight is the season premiere of Haven on Syfy. It’s been almost a year since the season two finale. Last season, things ended on an exciting note. Nathan & Audrey kissed, Duke was scared as he waited for the tattooed man to kill him, and then Audrey was kidnapped—and Duke believes Nathan had something to do with it. It all comes to a head tonight. In preparation, the three stars – Lucas Bryant, Emily Rose, & Eric Balfour – all spoke to the press with Executive Producer Lloyd Segan about the new season and what it means for the show, the characters, and the town of Haven itself.

On what they’ve learned about their characters this season

Emily Rose: Well, it’s interesting. I think Audrey, the first season she just kind of is curious when she finds a connection with the place of Haven, that there’s something there about herself. And then by season three, she’s facing some really, really dark, dark, dark, questions regarding who she is and there’s a – sort of a clock in play. So, it’s really, really hard and I think she’s in a really, really hard place all season. It’s not a fun place for her to be in mentally.

And I think – it was interesting, we filmed the second to the last day yesterday when we were finishing up the season and there’s this one scene at the very, very end of the season where Audrey is able to kind of ask all of those questions that she sort of dealt with and it’s just neat. It’s neat to have posed a lot of questions to the audience for so long and then finally have a season where some of those things are addressed or directly asked and to see what kind of answers are given is really, really interesting.

Eric Balfour: Yes, and, I mean, for Duke this season, Duke is going to have really decide who he wants to be in this world and he’s going to get pushed to limit and has to make some really tough choices about who he wants to be in this town and in this world and to these two people in life.

Lucas Bryant: And for Nathan, I learned that Nathan has a lot more ability to find his private parts and strap them on then he might’ve necessarily known. That’s maybe a crude way to say it but, it’s the truth.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/21/12

It’s been a crazy busy week with my kids—filled with homework, runny noses, new words, giggles, tears, and a ton of love—but I’m exhausted and so happy it’s Friday! Tonight, I’m going to make myself a nice cup of tea and curl up to catch up on some television, so let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

When Haven first premiered, people were nervous because of the supernatural story lines that it wouldn’t last, but it found a niche—thank goodness! This show is filled with delicious sexual tension, mysteries that make me have to think, and humor that makes me chuckle out loud every week. I always find it amazing when a show can keep the suspense while still making us laugh, and Haven succeeds every week—usually because of Duke, but the others get their turn, too. I’m so excited for the season 3 premiere, and I hope you are, too. Let’s see where our favorite small town heroes are this year.

On tonight’s premiere, “301,” Nathan and Duke search for Audrey, who went missing at the end of last season.

To see if Audrey is returned to her men, tune in to Syfy at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Haven @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Shark Tank and Secret Princes.

Interview with Colin Ferguson, Eddie McClintock, & Emily Rose from Eureka, Warehouse 13, & Haven

To get readers ready for the Syfy lineup of Christmas specials, Colin Ferguson (Eureka), Eddie McClintock (Warehouse 13), and Emily Rose (Haven) recently spoke to the press. It was kind of a chaotic call, but it was incredibly fun, as well—like it always is with these guys.

On Eureka, Carter and Allison try and plan the perfect Christmas for their kids but are surprised when they find themselves—and the rest of the town—animated. For Warehouse 13, it’s not a wonderful life for the Warehouse team when Pete discovers a world in which he’d never been born. Finally, on Haven, Audrey is surprised to see Christmas decorations suddenly popping up all over town—even though it’s July!

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/6/11

I’m so excited about tonight’s new television. There are so many good shows on tonight that my DVR is packed full! We are less than 3 weeks from Christmas now. That means shows will taper off quickly for the winter break, so watch em while you can!

Jenny’s Choice #1

There’s so much on tonight, but the first thing I have to recommend is the season finale of Covert Affairs. I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it is fantastic for some many different reasons. There is a huge development in the relationship between Annie and her sister, and aside from the flashback episode where he lost his sight, tonight is the most emotional and brilliant episode for Auggie. This whole season, we’ve dealt with Annie telling Danielle about being in the CIA and the fallout from that, as well as a new relationship for Auggie with the sister of the soldier in Auggie’s unit that died on the same mission he lost his sight. It’s been a great season and it all leads up to tonight’s finale. If you’re a fan, you don’t want to miss it. It’s a nail-biter and just a terrific episode all the way around!

On tonight’s episode, “Letter Never Sent,” while on vacation in Stockholm with Danielle, Annie is asked to courier a package to a gala for the CIA. But after Danielle is mistaken for Annie at the event, it becomes clear that Annie’s mission has put both their lives in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Auggie visits the doctor and Jai has a run in with his father, Auggie, and Arthur. Rena Sofer, Gregory Itzin and Joakim Natterqvis guest star.

Check it out tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Covert Affairs @ Clicker.
