If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/2/12

It’s very exciting that tonight, a few of our favorites are returning after their winter hiatuses. I don’t know about you, but I’ve missed curling up with my cup of tea and watching my favorite shows. What show’s return have you been waiting for? Did we remember it? Don’t forget to sound off below, after you check out what we are suggesting for tonight.

After the bustle of the holidays, there is something magical about watching a show that makes you laugh from beginning to end. 2 Broke Girls does that for me weekly, and I’ve missed it over the holiday break. I love Max (Kat Dennings) and her sarcasm. It’s quick, witty, and at times, deliciously inappropriate. Caroline (Beth Behrs) is fitting into the poor girl lifestyle nicely, although her face in the moments where she hits a new low is priceless. When we left our favorite waitresses, Max’s stove broke and Caroline ended up selling her jewelery to get Max the stove of her dreams. In the process, Caroline learned a hard lesson about the value of her surname.

On tonight’s mid-season premiere, “And the Secret Ingredient,” Caroline stumbles upon the secret ingredient to Max’s cupcakes in the midst of her new found obsession with couponing.

To see extreme couponing done Caroline style, tune in to CBS at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of 2 Broke Girls @ Clicker.

Mondays suck, because that means you have to go back to work. But Mondays also rock, because there’s tons of great TV on. Tonight is certainly no exception. From a cute new Christmas special to a highly anticipated new episode of Castle, we’re giving you our opinion on what we think you should watch, so check it out! By the way, I’m not going to give it a separate choice, but if you enjoyed part 1 of Syfy’s Neverland last night, don’t miss part 2 tonight! The last new episode of Castle was huge in terms of growth for Detective Kate Beckett. The sniper case brought up her issues with her own shooting, and her PTSD was shown to everyone on her team. Castle had a few moments being in the center of the episode—working with the Captain was great, wasn’t it?—but the true brilliance of the episode belonged to not only Beckett, who played her role the best I think I’ve ever seen her, but also to Espisito. He just really was amazing as he helped Beckett deal with her PTSD, as well as when he backed her up and shot the sniper before the guy could shoot her. I can honestly say that it was one of my favorite Castle episodes ever. The buzz about tonight’s episode has the Twittosphere all aflutter, as Castle, Beckett, and handcuffs in the same sentence can make any shipper nearly faint with happiness.

On tonight’s episode, “Cuffed,” when Castle and Beckett wake up in bed, handcuffed together, in a locked room with no memory of how they got there, they must piece together the mystery of where they are and why, all while trying to escape. But as the two of them adjust to being shackled together, what’s the biggest threat they face… the people who abducted them or each other? Meanwhile, Ryan, Esposito, and Gates are left to investigate their disappearance in a case where all is not what it seems.

Do not miss it tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/21/11

It’s a short week for those of us in the US. The kids most likely all have 2-day school weeks, worker bees get at least Thursday & Friday off…Happy Thanksgiving! lol If you don’t live here or celebrate Thanksgiving, well…lament the lack of new TV later this week along with us, but for now, enjoy what the television has to offer tonight, because there’s lots of it!

I have seen tonight’s Castle, and I can tell you this much: You don’t want to miss it. Beckett faces off with her worst fear—a sniper—and has to deal with the post-traumatic stress that she has been denying she has been suffering from since her shooting. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you are a fan, this is one you will really enjoy. Stana Katic and Jon Huertas (Espisito) absolutely knock it out of the park. As Beckett is trying her best to pretend like she’s okay, Espisito is the only one able to get through to her. It’s a gripping performance from them both. There’s only a few good moments for Caskett fans, but tonight’s episode sets up the real possibility of a future relationship between the two. All in all, it’s one of my favorite episodes of the series.

On tonight’s episode, “Kill Shot,” New York City is under fire by a sniper with no clear reason for killing, other than to instill fright; with time running out, the team struggles to locate the sniper, and it becomes difficult, as Beckett suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Don’t miss an exciting, important new episode tonight on ABC at 10/9c. (Be sure and check your local listings, because football is preempting my ABC shows. Castle is airing on The CW, instead!) Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/14/11

Ten or so days until Thanksgiving. Between now and then—actually, between now and January!—things will begin to slow down on TV for the holidays. That makes me sad, realizing the season is almost halfway over already! Still, even though there’s no new Castle tonight, there’s still plenty on, so check out what we recommend now!

Last week, jaws dropped all over America as viewers watched the new episode of How I Met Your Mother. Why? In case you were hiding under a rock or haven’t been tuning in to this fun show, you may not know that Barney & Robin—months after having broken up, and while both are in a serious, monogamous relationship with someone else—were joking around in the back of a cab, pretending to do a messy, sloppy kiss…which soon turned into a whopper of the real thing. What does that mean for their friendship and their relationships with Nora & Kevin? I don’t know, but I’m looking forward to finding out. I want Robin & Barney to get back together, but I have my doubts about it being this soon. If they get back together now, I have a feeling that may mean bad things for the possibility of Robin being Barney’s bride (that we did NOT see in the season premiere). Meanwhile, Ted is still sadly single, Lily & Marshall are… enjoying Lily’s pregnancy, and last week, we got to experience two more slaps in the slap bet—plus the addition of another one, so Barney could stop wearing the ducky tie. All in all, it was a good episode!

On tonight’s episode, “Tick Tick Tick,” Barney and Robin find themselves in a personal predicament when they try to do everything they can to hide a damaging secret from their significant others. Marshall, Lily, and Ted all decide to attend a concert. Kal Penn and Nazanin Boniadi return as Kevin & Nora. Also guest starring are Alexis Denisof (Alyson Hannigan’s—Lily—real life husband), as Sandy Rivers, and Jacob Witkin & Robin Krieger as Nora’s parents.

Tune in to CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of How I Met Your Mother @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/7/11

It’s Monday, it’s Monday! I’m so happy because Monday night is my favorite night for TV tonight. I love so many shows, so even though it’s the first work day of the week, I look forward to Monday nights. I hope you had a great weekend, but even if that or your Monday sucks, you’ll be able to sit down and have a great time watching some quality TV tonight. Enjoy!

Last week’s episode of Castle was fantastic. Castle & his mother were inside the bank when a group of bank robbers held up the place. Castle just happened to be on the phone with Beckett when it happened, which is when one of my favorite parts happened. He told her he thought the bank was being robbed, and she asked, “Really? Are you that bored?” Then the first robber yelled that it was a holdup, and Beckett realized Castle hadn’t just been letting his imagination run wild. Beckett turned to Ryan and Espisito and told them there was a bank robbery in progess. They snarked about since when did they handle bank robberies, and she only had to say two words for them to jump into action: “Castle’s there.” It was fantastic. There were some stand out moments throughout, including Alexis arriving at the bank and freaking out on Beckett, the look and hand touch when Castle passed the note to Beckett after she came into the bank posing as an EMT to get out a “hostage,” and probably my favorite part… when there was an explosion at the end and Beckett thought Castle was dead, but found out a minute later when they went inside that he was safe… They shared this long look and tender moment that just HAD to be ruined by Martha. I could seriously watch the explosion and next two minutes over and over again to see that look on their faces. lol Anyway, the end of the episode, where Beckett came to Castle’s apartment for dinner. It was a great moment just between the two of them, as well as with Beckett and all of the Castle family. I really loved the episode, as always.

On tonight’s episode, “Heartbreak Hotel,” during the investigation of the murder of an Atlantic City casino owner at an abandoned warehouse, strong leads emerge for the team in both New York and Atlantic City. As Beckett and Capt. Gates work the New York leads together, Castle naturally chooses to join the detectives for the road trip to “America’s Playground,” hoping to help solve the case while throwing an impromptu bachelor party for Ryan. Richard Burgi (Desperate Housewives) guest stars as Charlie Turner, the slick business partner of the victim.
