If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/16/12

It’s a bit of a slower night tonight because of the political debate. I’ll be SO glad when November has come and gone. I’m so tired of politics and all the crap that goes with it—especially all the ads on TV and making me miss shows! *grump* Even so, there’s some great stuff on tonight (including the return of Covert Affairs, which is reaching high points in drama!), so check out what we think you should be watching, and be sure to let us know if you’re going to take our genius advice. 😉

I’m particularly excited about tonight’s season premiere of Flashpoint on ION. It started airing a few weeks ago in Canada (lucky Megan!), but for the US viewers, tonight’s our first chance to get a look at the team after last season’s tense finale. Poor Parker has been put through the wringer emotionally. Team One’s leader was having problems in his personal life, but he’s finally begun mending fences with his teenage son. The relationship between Sam and Jules was discovered, and we thought they might be told they had to split—either personally or professionally—but at the end of the finale, Parker gave them the news that they were able to stay together and stay on Team One, which is awesome. Ed is still working on the team, and things with his wife are better than they were. The finale left off with the team and their families at the annual team picnic, where everything was great. Even Wordy was there. I hope that doesn’t mean bad things are headed our way for season five… Eek!

On tonight’s premiere, “A Broken Peace,” with help from the fugitive’s daughter, Team One searches the city in pursuit of James Mitchell, an armed and extremely volatile man who is hunting his ex-wife. Ed is forced to take a tragic shot that he was not prepared to take.

Don’t miss the pulse-pounding action tonight on ION at 11/10c. Learn where to find episodes online of Flashpoint @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Raising Hope, Dancing with the Stars, Ben and Kate, 19 Kids & Counting, Chopped, Covert Affairs, Chef Race: U.K. vs U.S., & Sons of Anarchy.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/24/12

This week so far has been great, and I’m looking forward to another wonderful night of television. Even though a lot of our favorite shows are off this week, there are still a few to keep us amused. Let’s see what you should be watching to keep this week going strong.

Megan’s Choice

Last week, Remodeled premiered and started the journey to change modeling agencies everywhere. I admire Paul Fisher’s goal to make the world of modeling a safer place. Can he do it? I’m not sure, actually, but I’m so glad he’s trying. It’s time the world started to nurture our young people, instead of giving them unhealthy, unattainable models to look at.

On tonight’s episode, “Modeling Agency or Modeling School?” Paul visits an agency in South Dakota and is outraged that the owner is running a modeling school for girls who have little chance of succeeding as models.

To see if Paul Fisher can indeed make a difference, tune in to The CW at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Remodeled @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/17/12

There may not be a few of my favorites on tonight (Damn you, CBS!), but there is plenty of great TV to watch! Besides what we think you should be watching below, don’t miss a night of new TV on ABC Family, the series premiere of Remodeled on The CW, a new reality competition show on TLC called Ink Master, and the winter premiere of White Collar (which I don’t watch or I’d have recommended it as one of my picks! lol). Now, on to what we do think you should watch!

I’m so excited, because Justified returns for it’s third season! I love a lot of characters on TV, but I’m not sure there is any other character like Raylan Givens, brilliantly played by the gorgeous Timothy Olyphant. The man exudes confidence. He’s not afraid to do what he needs to do to get the job done. Sure, it’s not always…legal, but he’ll do whatever it takes to put the bad guys away—whether it be to prison or into the ground. Last season was fantastic, with the equally brilliant Margo Martindale. Unfortunately, her character committed suicide in the season finale, so she won’t be around this season. But Boyd Crowder, who spent most of last season either waffling between good and bad or pretending to, is back to totally butting heads with Raylan, so that’s cool. All in all, it is always a great show, so don’t miss the season premiere tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “The Gunfighter,” the arrival of a dangerous new player in Lexington puts Raylan on a collision course with a sadistic Dixie Mafia hitman.

Check it out tonight on FX at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Justified @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/10/12

Well, what a birthday celebration we had last night. It was just the three of us, but we made pizzas for dinner, had a special birthday dessert (My kid hates cake… Who hates cake?!), and played Uno and In a Pickle. It was fun. Plus, I got to watch a new episode of Castle. It doesn’t get much better than that! There’s some great stuff on tonight, too, so check out what we think you should watch!

I still really love watching Body of Proof. They do a good job of making Megan getting more in touch with her human side, rather than the almost robotic doctor she had become before she had to quit due to the problem with her hand. Almost every week, we see a little growth, or just a different side to her personality. Like last week, she dealt a lot with her young teenage daughter’s insecurities and wanting to change how she looked and dressed. It hit Megan hard, and I just wanted her to realize that there was something going on besides just what it seemed was obvious. And there was. I loved the talk between the two at the end. Another great part of the episode was all the stuff between Curtis and Ethan, and Ethan and Dani/Peter. I want Peter and Megan together, but he’s cute when he’s with Dani. Of course, the previews for tonight show a LOT of tension between Megan and Peter over the case, and that’s always fun. 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Shades of Blue,” when an undercover cop is found executed at a truck stop, the search for the killer hits close to home. Brett Cullen (Make It or Break It, The Gates), Deirdre Lovejoy (Bones, The Wire), and Ransford Doherty (guest starred multiple times on Body of Proof, The Closer) guest star.

Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Body of Proof @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/13/11

Tuesday is one of the most anticipated nights on TV, and it’s always for good reason. You’ve got plenty of shows that will help be the bandaid for your grueling work week. It’s never easy starting another week of work, but with the promise of some escapism just hours away, the clock seems to tick faster. Don’t spend your time watching the hands fly by all day long; just fantasize about the worlds, places, and people you’ll get to vicariously know and love when you tune in to your favorite shows.

Last week on Glee, Sectionals went down, and it was of epic proportion. New Directions battled the Trouble Tones for the winning spot, and New Directions came out on top. Rachel was not allowed to perform, due to her election scandal, and New Directions was stuck in the lurch, trying to figure out what to do to take the crown. Finn and Rachel found Sam and brought him back to McKinley, where he re-enrolled. Quinn finally realized the errors of her ways after a pep talk from Rachel, and the ladies of the Trouble Tones joined forces with New Directions. Tis the season, and tonigh,t the Gleeks celebrate a very Gleekmus. Don’t miss a moment.

Tonight, on an all new Glee, the club members face a tough decision when they are asked to perform in two different places at the very same time.

Watch an all new episode at 8/7c on FOX! Learn where to find episodes online of Glee @ Clicker.
