If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/11/11

Thank goodness it’s Friday. It seemed like it took forever to get here. Today is Remembrance Day in Canada, where we take the time to remember our veterans for everything that they have done for us. So to all my fellow Canadians and to all the Americans—who are celebrating Veteran’s Day today, too—don’t forget to take the time to remember our heroes today. As for television, tonight is full of wonderful shows to watch while you kick back and relax, letting the stress of the week just roll away. Let’s take a look.

Megan’s Choice #1

Friday nights are made better by the Reagan family in my living room weekly on Blue Bloods. I can’t get enough of this police drama, as well as the family battles. Last week’s episode had some storylines that asked the tough questions. I found the Reverend to be a little bit of a know-it-all, and his character was slightly annoying. I do enjoy the fact that Jamie has had more intense story arcs, because more of him is never a bad thing.

On tonight’s episode, “Lonely Hearts Club,” Jackie goes undercover as an escort to catch a serial killer who is murdering prostitues in hotel rooms. Meanwhile, Erin meets a potential suitor (Fred Weller, In Plain Sight!) at an art gallery who shares her interests.

To let the Reagan family into your Friday schedule, tune in to CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ Clicker.

Recap/Review – Supernatural – “Slash Fiction” – 10/28/11

Amazingly gruesome, funny, and just plain awesome! In case you didn’t get the point, I loved this latest instalment of Supernatural. Not only do I get to see another set of Winchester brothers, but the layers of humour and story were so well done that I didn’t want it to end.

We have Bobby at the grind again, but this time, he is doing hands on research in the basement. The Leviathan that Don Stark had subdued at the end of the last episode is now Bobby’s guinea pig, as Bobby tries to find a way to kill him and all Leviathan. Nothing seems to be working to well, except decapitation, which only slows them down.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/28/11

Cheers for the freaking weekend! 😉 I am so excited for next week, because a lot of our favorites are returning now that the disaster that is called baseball will be finished. I’m getting ahead of myself, because tonight’s line up of television is amazing. There are a few favorites and a premiere tonight, so read ahead and see what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice #1

Tonight is the series premiere of Grimm, and I am SO excited. What is better than a show where the scary fairy tales come to life? Simply nothing. Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), finds out he descends from a special line of profilers known as “Grimms,” who are responsible for keeping the balance between the human and mythological creatures. It’s everyone’s favorite stories come to life—even the villains, like the wolf.

On tonight’s series premiere, a university student is savagely attacked while jogging. A mysterious woman visits her nephew to tell him a family secret in the opener of this new dramatic series.

To let your imagination run away if you dare, tune in to NBC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grimm @ Clicker.

Recap/Review – Supernatural – “Shut Up, Dr. Phil” – 10/21/11

All right, fans, I think Supernatural is back in business! The past two episodes had me a little worried, even though I am a very big fan of this series. I love the show so much, and I want new viewers to catch the beginning of an episode and be unable to change the channel because it is so good. Well, this beginning was definitely one to hook a new audience!

In the opening scene, we are at an upscale salon, with your typical spoiled, blonde, baby boomer. Big shocker, she’s getting her roots touched up and needs to sit under one of the dryers to process her foils. Apparently, it’s not very good to heat your head up, because the machine starts to go in overdrive as she struggles to get out from under the dryer! Basically, whatever brain cells she had left are getting fried, while the rest of the patrons are at the front of the salon getting beautiful. When the stylist comes to remove the dryer, he sees the smoke and lifts the lid. She is obviously dead, as her head flops to the side, looking like a bad science project. Wait, it gets better. The stylist has a look of shocked terror and begins to scream like a school girl. Awesome! I guess I’m sick, because I made my husband watch it, and we both laughed at that part.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/14/11

Thank goodness it’s the end of the week. My kid has no school because of the end of the quarter, so his weekend started early. I know he’s looking forward to playing outside with his friends and catching up on TV like the season finale of Warehouse 13 and two episodes of Terra Nova. What are your weekend plans? Comment below & let us know what you’re watching tonight and what you are going to be up to this weekend!

Jenny’s Choice #1

Megan & I both really love Blue Bloods, and this season has been just as good so far as season one was. The last couple of episodes have really focused on Danny (Donny Wahlberg). Two weeks ago, Danny shot a man with a gun who was chasing another man down the stairs and failed to identify himself as a police officer. It turned out the man had some head trauma, so he couldn’t really, and it was determined by Internal Affairs that Danny had acted appropriately, within regulations, and the officer he’d shot was going to be fine. Then last week, another cop helped rob a bank (his kid needed a life saving operation and he didn’t have the money for it), and Danny went into the bank to get out an injured hostage, and then stayed to talk the cop down. Both were powerful episodes, and I love Danny, but I do hope this week’s episode focuses on Frank (Tom Selleck), since it seems like it might. It’s nice when each of the Reagans gets center stage!

On tonight’s episode, “Innocence,” Erin reopens an eighteen-year-old rape case, in which Frank was the arresting officer on the scene. Danny & Jackie investigate the murders of three teenagers in a park, who seemed to have been killed for absolutely no reason.

Check it out tonight on CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ Clicker.
