If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/27/13

I can’t wait for this week to be over because it’s a long weekend ahead of us, but also because I’m going to get to visit with my sister and family. My sister is truly one of the most amazing people I know, and since moving a few hours away, I don’t see her as often as I’d like, so you can be sure when she gets here Friday, it’s going to be a house full of giggles and goofiness. 🙂 Until then, I have some TV to amuse myself with, so let’s look at what you should be watching.

duckdynastysmallWeek after week, I fall more in love with Duck Dynasty and ask myself what took me so long to find this awesome gem! I know there are haters out there (ahem…Kyle), but most of these haters haven’t even given the show a chance. I challenge you to sit down and watch one episode, and if after that episode, you still hate it…so be it. (I bet you won’t 🙂 )

There’s something endearing about these redneck duck hunters with their crazy beards and their odd work environment. Si is by far my favorite because his randomness makes me giggle all the time. Last week, watching him play the pinball machine was hilarious, because to him, everything is a competition. Also, the whole massage chair thing was so amusing. Willie always has to ruin Si’s fun… How dare he try to run the business. 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Ring around the Redneck,” Si uses his metal detector to help Jase locate his lost wedding ring, but soon becomes distracted by what he believes is buried treasure from his past.

To watch Si get distracted by shiny things, tune in to A&E at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Duck Dynasty @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching American Idol, Suburgatory, Law & Order: SVU, and Restaurant Stakeout.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/20/13

As I write this, I’m watching this week’s episode of NCIS, and there was a moment at the beginning that made me absolutely sob. Poor Wendell—I mean, Ted. (Bones fans will get the reference. 😉 ) It was heartbreaking and made both my kiddo & myself cry. Anyway, there’s some more great TV on tonight, and we’re here to tell you what we’re watching so you can make an informed choice. 😉

criminalminds320smallAll season, we’ve been dealing with The Replicator on Criminal Minds. The last new episode, they thought they had him, but Donnie Bidwell, their suspect, turned out to be a patsy for the real Replicator. It’ll be interesting to see how that continues to play out.

I’m interested to see this week’s episode especially because Lynch is back. I want him GONE. It’s no secret Megan & I are both Morgan/Garcia fans. We want them together, and after Garcia & Lynch broke up & he showed up at JJ’s wedding with another woman, we thought they’d split for good, so maybe the way was paved for Morcia (or is it Gargan? LOL). And it would come at the perfect time, since next week is a big Morgan episode, where he has to go to Chicago and face the man who abused him. But with this week’s episode, I’m not so sure about that anymore. Hopefully it’s just CBS screwing with our minds.

On tonight’s episode, “The Gathering,” the BAU investigates victims who were documenting their personal lives and inner desires on blog posts and social media. Also, Kevin gets jealous when he learns Garcia may have a new love interest.

To see who Garcia’s new love interest might be, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Neighbors, Law & Order: SVU, The Americans, Chicago Fire, CSI, Duck Dynasty, & Psych.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/13/13

I saw the funniest thing earlier this week… Oiled wrestling from Turkey. Buff, hot guys, covered in olive oil, and wrestling in the grass—but to win, they basically have to stick their hand down their opponent’s pants to then pin them. What they’re grabbing and why, I have no idea…but the pictures & the video? A combination of hysterical and oh-so-hot. Then last night, I got to see my pick win on The Taste, as well as watched the Duggar family visit Japan and China, which was incredibly funny. So it was a good night. 🙂 There’s some great TV on tonight, too, which we’re happy to be sharing our opinions about! 😉

theneighbors313smallMy favorite comedy on television right now, The Neighbors, is new tonight. Last week, Reggie Jackson, his parents, and Amber all were trying to learn how to drive. Reggie and Jackie took to it like ducks to water, while Amber and Larry…did not. In the end, it was sweet watching Amber and Marty bond when she told him she was having trouble learning from the Driver’s Ed teacher (Sandra Bernhard, who was HYSTERICAL) and asked him to help her learn…and I absolutely adore when Amber and Larry figure out they have something in common. It’s a sweet friendship of two people who feel slightly off-center and out of the inner circle sometimes.

There are only two episodes left after tonight’s episode, and I have my fingers, toes, eyes, legs, and arms crossed that it will be renewed. Ausiello still has it listed as “A long shot” on TVLine, but I’ve seen miracles happen for shows I thought had no hope, so I haven’t given up yet!

On tonight’s episode, “Sing Like a Larry Bird,” the Bird-Kersees take a trip into the city against the Weaver’s advice to see a Broadway show, leading Larry to decide to put on a musical of his own. When Dick injures himself, the Bird-Kersees risk exposing their true identities by calling 9-1-1.

Don’t miss what is sure to be another fantastic, highly amusing episode tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Neighbors @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Americans, Duck Dynasty, Psych, & Restaurant Stakeout.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/20/13

Dear Winter: I am officially done with you. Go away. Sincerely, your former adoring fan. That is how I am feeling today… Sick of winter! Don’t get me wrong, I love looking at the pretty snow, but I am tired of driving in it, walking in it, and most of all, tired of getting all the kids’ snow gear on… It’s just like the movies every time they’re all bundled up: someone has to pee! So to distract me from my distain for the season, I’m going to curl up with some hot chocolate and watch some new television. You’d be wise to do the same.

Megan’s Choice

criminalminds220smallI have been on a roller coaster with Criminal Minds through out the years—at times despising what the show runners have done to my favorite characters—but this season, I am loving most of the story lines. As sad as I was about Reid losing Mauve, I realized that this gives his character so much more depth and personality, making him seem less robotic and more human. The place I’d like to see more growth is for Garcia and Morgan to move past the flirty stuff and actually hook up—although I realize that this puts me on the shipper’s path, I don’t care, as long as I get them together. Despite the characters, at the end of the day, I tune in for the cases because no other show does creepy, serial killers better than this show!

On tonight’s episode, “Broken,” the team heads to Austin to investigate when victims with watches set to inaccurate times are discovered; the team’s stalker gets closer.

To see if the team can solve the case in time, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching American Idol, CSI, Chicago Fire, The Americans, and Supernatural.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/6/13

This has been one of those weeks where I feel like it’s time to go back to bed the moment I get out—but life doesn’t like that very much, so I am up and doing my thing. 🙂 I am looking forward to kicking back and relaxing while I watch some great new TV, and you should be, too! Let’s see what the TV doctors (That’s us. 😉 ) are ordering for tonight.

Megan’s Choice

criminalminds26smallI don’t care what anyone says… Criminal Minds is now, and will always be, one of my favorite shows. This season started off a bit strange with Emily leaving, but I am happy with the balance of personal and professional the show continues to bring to the table. I am still so heartbroken for Reid and wish that there was a way for him to wake up and it all be a dream. However, unlike some shows, the bad must remain to build character. Reid did a good job of coming to the aide of his team members when they needed him, even through his grief, but I really hope they find a silver lining for this guy soon.

On tonight’s episode, “All That Remains,” when the daughters of Bruce Morrison, a writer whose wife mysteriously vanished a year ago, go missing on the anniversary of their mother’s disappearance, the BAU is brought in to study Morrison as a possible suspect. Ken Olin guest stars.

To delve into the twisted mind of the unsub, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching CSI, Law & Order: SVU, American Idol, Arrow, Chicago Fire, and Suburgatory.
