If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/9/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

undateable2015smallLast season, Undateable did a special live episode, which must have done pretty well, as that the series was renewed for an all-live third season, which premieres tonight. The last time a TV show tried to do this was back in 1992, when the Fox comedy Roc went live for its second season. I like the unpredictable nature of live TV, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the show changes with this new format. And I’ll be anxiously watching for flubbed lines and misbehaving props.

For last year’s one-off special, they pulled in a lot of familiar faces from series creator Bill Lawrence’s previous programs. However, with a full season of episodes ahead, I don’t think they can rely on that kind of all-in-one-episode kind of stunt casting every week. Though, I’m sure we can expect to see some fun guest stars throughout the season.

On tonight’s double-length premiere, “A Will They Walks Into a Bar/A Won’t They Walks Into a Bar,” Danny interferes as Justin and Candace plan on taking things to the next level. Also: Burski surprises the gang with an announcement; and Leslie sets out to reinvent her look. Danny continues to interfere when Justin and Candace consider taking things to the next level. Meanwhile, the gang reacts to Burski’s surprise announcement, and Leslie tries to reinvent her look.

See the premiere of the all-live season tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Amazing Race, Dr. Ken, Z Nation, and Continuum.

bluebloods109smallLast week’s Blue Bloods was killer – literally. After a body of a young woman was found in the woods, Danny quickly discovered another, and they determined it was a killing field…a place that a serial killer had been dumping their bodies. They were able to find the guy, but not before he called Danny and taunted him with the screams from his newest victim. When they learned where the suspect lived, Danny told Baez that he’d meet her there, and like Danny does often, he let his emotions rule and went in before she got there, even after she’d told him to wait for backup. Of course, the suspect surprised him and they fought. While Danny saved the girl, the killer got away, only to call Danny later from near young women like his previous victims and taunt him.

Meanwhile, Mayor Poole seemed to talk Erin into thinking about becoming a judge, but Frank is worried that it’s just because the mayor is about to come up for reelection and there will be strings for her. Speaking of Frank and the mayoral race, Poole’s opponent, Katherine Tucker, was all up in his face about her husband being investigated. Frank didn’t know anything about it, but he did some investigating and learned that Poole had been the one to start the investigation. They didn’t find anything illegal, although they did learn that her husband was having an affair. I’m not sure who Frank wants to win. He and Poole have a weird relationship – sometimes it seems like they’re friends, but other times, it’s as if they can barely speak civilly to one another.

On tonight’s episode, “All the News That’s Fit to Click,” when newspaper reporter Lorenzo Colt (Zachary Booth) is targeted while wearing NYPD gear on a ride-along with Jamie and Eddie, Frank puts Danny and Baez on the hunt for the shooter who may be out for other members on the force. Also, Garrett contemplates taking another job.

Make sure Garrett stays put tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Amazing Race, Last Man Standing, Undateable, Dr. Ken, Hawaii Five-0, & BBQ Blitz.

Megan’s Choice

hawaiifiveo109smallHawaii Five-0 has started the season off with a couple of mysteries – one of which is whether or not Kono is going to be able to help Adam get over the shooting as well as whether the cartel will come to kill them for not getting their money back. The other mystery is when Steve is going to propose. It’s taking too long! Last episode, Danny agreed with me by asking what Steve was waiting for. Yes! What are you waiting for? Also on the last episode, the team raced to stop bombings being done by a copy cat wanting to be like the arsonist Duclair from last season. In the end, the team caught Duclair, and he gave them a key to a PO box, where they found a jar of ashes. I’m assuming it was the other guy and Duclair burned him up. Regardless of the odd story this week, I am really enjoying having the show back and getting to watch the always sexy Alex O’Loughlin again.

On tonight’s episode, “Ua ‘o’oloku ke anu i na mauna (The Chilling Storm is on the Mountain),” while Five-0 investigates a scuba diver’s death from a gun recently used in another murder, McGarrett prepares to propose to Catherine.

To see if Steve finally pops the question, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race, Blue Bloods, and Z Nation.
