If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/7/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

theoddcouple47smallTonight, CBS’s updated version of The Odd Couple returns for its second season. When we last left off, Oscar was being audited by the IRS, but since he and ex-wife Gabby had filed jointly that year, it meant that they actually needed to talk to one another. And in typical sitcom fashion, bickering between the former couple led to a rekindling of feelings and sex. However, by the end of the episode, the two decided they were better off just friends. On the flip side, Felix and Emily also ended up in bed but decided it was time to pursue their relationship – much to Dani’s delight.

While I’m not generally a fan of remakes, this series won me over by the end of the first season. It wasn’t one that I rushed to watch each week, but whenever I did get around to watching it off the DVR, I always found it fun. How could you not enjoy this hilarious cast – Matthew Perry, Thomas Lennon, Wendell Pierce, Lindsay Sloane, and Yvette Nicole Brown? I’m looking forward to seeing how Felix and Emily’s relationship evolves this season, though I’ll kind of miss the will they/won’t they from last season. And I hope we get even more Dani this year, because she’s my favorite of the characters.

On tonight’s premiere, “All About Eavesdropping,” Oscar and Felix start obsessively eavesdropping on their bickering neighbors. But being nice guys, they decide to help save the couple’s marriage. Meanwhile, Emily and Dani’s friendship is tested when they train together for a race to the top of the Empire State Building.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, Rush Hour, Grey’s Anatomy, The Catch, The Blacklist, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The 100, Archer, and 60 Days In.

Megan’s Choice

greysanatomy47smallGrey’s Anatomy has been wreaking havoc on my emotions lately, especially after last week, when we watched as Meredith struggled with her step forward with the sexy Army doctor. After a great date, they kissed good night, which turned into a night of sex – leaving Meredith in an emotional mess and leading her to kicking the doctor out in a dramatic screaming moment. The only good thing that came from her mental break was her repairing her relationship with Amelia. Speaking of repairing relationships… Jackson and April were still at odds with each other, but then Catherine came to town, which everyone knows is never a good thing – and it wasn’t. Catherine cornered April into a talk, but instead of coming at her in her usual evil Catherine way, she acted like she was being understanding, which I almost bought until we saw Catherine talk to Jackson later about how she got everything they needed to go after April. I was so sad for April and Jackson because what they both need right now is some time to figure things out for themselves.

On tonight’s episode, “I Wear the Face,” Meredith goes on an ambulance ride with Owen and Nathan to pick up a heart for a transplant patient. Musician & MS patient Kyle Diaz is admitted to Grey Sloan Memorial with a tremor in his hand, and the residents apply for the Preminger Grant. Meanwhile, Catherine continues to insert herself into Jackson and April’s business against Richard’s wishes.

Find out if Jackson will finally stand up to his mother and tell her to mind her own business tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching The Big Bang Theory, Rush Hour, and The Catch.
