Tonight is the series premiere of Maya & Marty on NBC at 10/9c. The incomparable Maya Rudolph and Martin Short join forces for an all-new comedy show jam-packed with music, stars, and the unique characters and charisma of two of the biggest icons in SNL history. With Kenan Thompson and a dream team of surprise celebrity guests joining them each week, this dynamic duo is ready to unleash the full range of their talents and bring the house down like never before.
Tonight is also the series premiere of Teenage Newlyweds on FYI at 10/9c. The show follows three young couples as they take a leap of love and transition from teen sweethearts to husband and wife. The series captures their weddings and all the ups and downs of juggling family, school, career, finances and first homes, while still navigating life as a teenager. Halie and George, both members of the Mormon Church, met while he was a missionary and were engaged after only a few short months of dating. Brenda and Travis were set-up on a blind date while attending college and sparks flew immediately, despite clashing beliefs and values. Small-town high school sweethearts, Emma and Joey, have vastly different career aspirations but are determined to make their marriage work. Tonight is the series premiere of Cleverman on Sundance Channel at 10/9c. Set in the near future, this is a startlingly original drama rooted in Aboriginal mythology. The series depicts a deeply conflicted and anxious society, fearful of a minority group living among them, endowed with extraordinary physical traits. One young man — The Cleverman — struggles with his own power and the responsibility to unite this divided world, but he must first overcome a deep estrangement from his older brother. The series is based on an original concept by Ryan Griffen and stars Deborah Mailman, Frances O’Connor, Hunter Page-Lochard, Iain Glen, Rob Collins, & Stef Dawson.
