chicagopd1026smallI missed having a new episode of Chicago PD on last week because of the debate. On the episode a couple of weeks ago, people were shot and driven into with a car outside the concert of a young (teenage) rapper – including the rapper himself – and it was thought to be gang-related. It was, but not in the way they first thought. Turned out one gang was trying to turn two other gangs against each other, and it looked like it was working. They started attacking each other, until Voight took the leaders from both out to one of his spots and explained that neither were behind the original attack and to let this one go. That was a fun scene! Meanwhile, while trying to talk to some of the people on the “watch list” (a list of who they thought was most likely to be the next victim), Burgess saw Atwater’s younger brother at the house of one of the “watch list” kids. She cornered him, took him home, and stayed until Atwater got home. I don’t know if Atwater should have come down harder on the kid or not. It seemed like he kind of just brushed it under the rug. Huh…

On tonight’s episode, “A War Zone,” Intelligence is tasked with tracking down the dealers of fentanyl – a drug that has been linked to multiple overdoses around the city. As they investigate possible sources, the team uncovers a series of dealers in a college smuggling ring. Meanwhile, Tay and Burgess come across a bloodied child who exposes a dark and twisted secret about his home life with his parents. Additionally, Mouse causes tension as he looks to reenlist in the army, and Platt tells Tay that she has been reassigned to her original post.

See if they can find the dealers and why Tay has to go tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, The Goldbergs, Speechless, Criminal Minds, Frequency, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Worst Cooks in America, black-ish, & That Awkward Game Show.

thegoldbergs1026smallIf you enjoyed last night’s two-hour dose of Halloween-themed comedies on ABC as much as I did, the good news is that the spooktacular trend continues with tonight’s two-hour comedy block as well! ABC’s scary-good lineup includes The Goldbergs, Speechless, Modern Family, and black-ish. These shows are always a highlight of my week, and I’m thrilled that all of them are doing Halloween episodes this year. I can’t wait to see what pranks and hijinks ensue in tonight’s shows!

On The Goldbergs, “Stefan King,” Adam gets in trouble with Beverly after he portrays her as a monster while writing a horror story; Erica forces Barry to attend a costume dance with her.

On Speechless, “H-A-L—HALLOWEEN,” Jimmy is upset when the kids aren’t excited about dressing up for Halloween; Dylan is recruited to work at the school’s haunted mansion; Kenneth fears for his job after J.J. gets drunk at a party.

On Modern Family, “Halloween 4: The Revenge of Rod Skyhook,” the Dunphys try to kick start Luke’s Halloween party; Cam confronts his Halloween nemesis; Jay plans to go to a party at an old enemy’s home to deliver an unforgettable trick.

And on black-ish, “The Purge,” Dre plans a prank on Junior after Junior embarrasses him at a basketball game; the neighborhood takes part in mischief night, but Ruby takes it too far with the kids.

Gear up for some Halloween fun tonight on ABC starting at 8/7c.

I’m also watching/recording Designated Survivor, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Blindspot, Arrow, Frequency, Worst Cooks in America, American Horror Story, You’re the Worst, Younger, and Impastor.

criminalminds1026smallPrentiss being back on Criminal Minds has been a nice treat, and I’m interested to see how her presence shapes the season. Last week’s UnSub was one of the extremely outrageous ones, and even I was shocked. He admitted he had been sexually attracted to his adopted sister but then found out she was his mom and began killing in spite. It was a very twisted episode, and I give the writers credit for the insanity.

On tonight’s episode, “Keeper,” the BAU team searches for a serial killer along the Appalachian Trail in rural Virginia.

To watch our favorite FBI team try to find the killer before it’s too late, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Chicago PD, Law & Order: SVU, Code Black, and Blindspot.
