If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/9/17

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

I didn’t get into Impractical Jokers until the last season or so. I thought it was a normal hidden camera show, which I find funny but get tired of really quickly. But my son really liked it and was watching it one day in the living room, and I saw it and laughed harder than I’d laughed in a while. These four friends (Sal, Joe, Murr, & Q) are an absolute riot to watch. This is must-see TV in our house, and if you give it a chance, it just might be in yours as well. Tonight’s a good night to check it out because it’s the season premiere. And don’t miss the “Inside Jokes” episode after, where you get to see behind-the-scenes shots and information during a previously aired episode. Those are always hysterical!

On tonight’s episode, “Swim Shady,” the guys are hit with some bad reception while working behind a desk; the guys head to the park where they ask strangers for advice on their questionable life choice; tonight’s big loser is tasked with taking photos of a water aerobics class.

Find out who loses big tonight on TruTV at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, MasterChef: Junior, Powerless, The Great Indoors, Chicago Med, Top Chef, My Kitchen Rules, & Beat Bobby Flay.

Grey’s Anatomy has kept us on the edge of our seats most this season, with the “Alex going to jail” story line, but now that it’s winding down, it is time to pay some attention to a few other stories. I’d like to see what happens with Owen and Amelia, because I really like them as a couple and it makes me sad that they are struggling because of the whole children aspect of the relationship. Now we also have Eliza to deal with, and while I’d love to see Arizona get a new love interest, I’m definitely not sold on Eliza as a regular. I’m also hoping we get to see some growth between April and Jackson – hopefully in the direction of them getting back together as a couple. It is always an emotional rollercoaster on a Shonda Rhimes drama, and I am intrigued to see where we go next.

On tonight’s episode, “None of Your Business,” Maggie gets a surprise visit from her mother at the hospital. Bailey has to make a difficult decision when one of the attendings refuses to work with Eliza, and Stephanie gets caught up in Owen and Amelia’s personal drama.

To see which attendings refuse to work with Eliza, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Chicago Med, MasterChef: Junior, My Kitchen Rules, The Big Bang Theory, Alone, Beat Bobby Flay, and Training Day.

Tonight, MasterChef: Junior returns for its fifth season on FOX, and another group of talented 8-13-year-old cooks will battle it out for the $100K prize and the MasterChef title. However, before the competition can officially begin, the contestants will need to earn their aprons, so over the next two weeks, we’ll see the field of young chefs narrowed down to the final 20. I’m looking forward to meeting the precocious young contestants and seeing what dishes they come up with. I’m always impressed by the extensive cooking knowledge these kids have at such a young age!

On the first half of the 2-part season premiere, “Quest for the Apron, Pt. 1,” 16 contestants compete for eight of the Top 20 spots, but once they’re split into four teams, each tasked with a specific dish, only two cooks from each group will advance to the next round of challenges.

Meet the new contestants tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, The Great Indoors, Life in Pieces, Training Day, Superstore, Powerless, The Blacklist, My Kitchen Rules, Riverdale, Top Chef, and Colony.
