Tonight, Syfy’s outer space drama, The Expanse, returns for its third season. Last season, the crew of the Rocinante learned that the protomolecule had taken over Eros station and was heading directly for Earth. Miller sacrificed himself, causing the asteroid to crash into Venus. While this was happening, there was a mutiny on Tycho station, and the Belters managed to steal some of Earth’s nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, on Ganymede, the largest moon on Jupiter and home to the bio-domes that produced food for both Earth and Mars, Martian Bobbie discovered that her whole crew had been killed during a secret test of a new Martian weapon…a weaponized version of the protomolecule created by a scientist hired by Jules Mao. He was experimenting on children with a rare disease, using the protomolecule to mutate them into monsters. Bobbie sought asylum on Earth after learning that the Martians were trying to use her to cover up their weapons test. However, Avasarala was herself in danger after her own people turned on her.
Meanwhile, Holden and the gang teamed up with Prax to help him find his daughter Mei, one of the children being used for the experiments. Before they could find her, the Rocinante was attacked by one of the proto-mosters. They managed to lure it out of the ship and fry it in space using the ship’s blasters. Afterwards, Naomi admitted to Holden that, instead of burning up their sample of the protomolecule in the sun, she had given it to Fred Johnson — since the Earth and Mars both already had samples of the protomolecule, she figured the Belters should have it as well. As the season ended, Earth was investigating the crash on Venus when the protomolecule separated The Arboghast piece by piece, like a set of LEGOs.
What is this protomolecule, what can it do, and what does it want? How will Holden and the others react to Naomi’s news? Can Bobbie and Avasarala escape, and if they do, where can/will they go? There’s a war brewing between Earth, Mars, and the Belt, and all three sides are armed with weapons and the protomolecule. Can any side truly come out victorious from this situation? Tonight’s action-packed premiere picks up immediately where the second season left off. It’s a fun, exciting ride, and I look forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out and what lies ahead for the characters.
On tonight’s season premiere, “Fight or Flight,†the Rocinante crew deals with the fallout over Naomi’s betrayal while caught in the middle of the war between Earth and Mars; Avasarala and Bobbie hatch an escape plan.
Find out the details about the escape plan tonight on Syfy at 9/8c.

Last week, Criminal Minds threatened the wife of one of its own. Matt Simmons’s wife Kristy was at work when three young guys took the law firm hostage. I totally saw it coming when the one guy being loud and in-your-face with the receptionist about needing to see a lawyer right that moment turned out to be one of the hostage takers – the leader, in fact. The other two came in as some sort of auditors or data security people. They set up explosives on the doors, disabled the elevator, and ended up shooting several people (& killing two). Kristy was able to plant an extra cell phone she had in her bag (was supposed to be an update for Matt from his Blackberry or whatever old phone he was using, but he was happy with what he had), so the team had eyes and ears in the room. But one idiot nervously gave it away by looking back and forth to the hidden phone, and the lead bad guy found it. He blamed another person for it, but Kristy admitted to doing it, and she was just about to get killed in front of the camera, when Matt sneaked up and saved the day. At the end of the day, both of them were bruised and a bit bloodied (her from being smacked around by the bad guy, him from the fight with the bad guy while attempting to take him down), and they each had an ice pack to their heads, but Matt surprised her by using the new phone because it saved her life. It was a sweet moment.
I love when we see family tied into the episodes. The recent episode with Rossi’s ex-wife, and then last week with Matt’s wife. Now this week is something we’ve never seen before that I can remember: Garcia’s family. We’ve heard lots about them but never met them. We even get to see a flashback to a younger Garcia! So this should be fun!
On tonight’s episode, “All You Can Eat,†the Centers for Disease Control calls on the BAU when they suspect bioterrorism is behind a series of mysterious deaths in Virginia. Also, Garcia visits her stepbrother, Carlos (guest star Sebastian Sozzi), to take care of a difficult family issue.
Meet Garcia’s stepbrother and see if the BAU can solve the case tonight on CBS at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Goldbergs, Alex Inc., Iron Chef Gauntlet, Modern Family, Property Brothers, SEAL Team, American Housewife, & Chicago PD.

Chicago PD took us on a journey into Upton’s past on the last episode when she went undercover using an old cover identity. It was emotional to watch her face her demons, but in the end she got to put her old nemesis back behind bars. I really enjoyed seeing Halstead supporting her and being the strong one in their partnership for once.
On tonight’s episode, “Payback,” a string of stash house robberies lead back to an unlikely individual. Voight confronts a key witness in the Bingham investigation.
To find out what witness Voight confronts and if it helps him and Olinsky, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, SEAL Team, Law & Order: SVU, and Iron Chef Gauntlet.
