Tonight is the series premiere of a fun new show on FOX called Ultimate Tag. It is exactly what you’d think: a great big exciting game of tag – crossed with the show from 2007/2008, American Gladiators. Six contestants (three men, three women), all athletes, military, martial artists, etc, compete against a group of “taggers†with names like The Flow, La Flair, Spitfire, Iron Giantress, Flame, Caveman, Big Deal, and more. Most of the taggers are free runners or experts in parkour. The course is three-dimensional, so the contestants and taggers must run, jump, slide, climb…basically do whatever they need to do to beat the clock and each other.
Kyle didn’t really enjoy the screener, but I thought it was a lot of fun. The names are silly (I loved American Gladiators, and I feel like most of the names were better on there…), but the action is fun, and the hosts (the pro-football-playing Watt brothers, JJ, TJ, & Derek) were good as well. I’m looking forward to seeing more.
Don’t miss the premiere tonight on FOX at 9:02/8:02c.
I’ll also be watching Guy’s Grocery Games & S.W.A.T.

The third season of S.W.A.T. comes to an end tonight, and I for one am definitely going to miss my weekly dose of Hondo and his team on my television. I found that this season gave us a broader view of the characters overall and we got to know a few of them a little bit deeper. We watched as Deacon struggled with the financial stress of having a family while being off work for an injury, and we saw how he fought his way out of the mess with the help of his team.
Last episode, Chris went up against the Deputy Mayor after he made his son’s DUI disappear and Chris called him on it. After a lot of threats from the man, Chris got him to admit on tape that he had gotten his son’s mistakes erased and then she got him to step down. I am impressed that Chris never gave up and also that Lynch was so smart with her advice – love the girl power.
On tonight’s episode, “Diablo,” the SWAT team searches for a group of drug smugglers who crash a plane in a Los Angeles suburb and scatter, after a joint mission with the DEA to stop the shipment goes awry. Also, Hondo tries to make amends with Nichelle, Luca experiences anxiety about his return to the field, and Deacon hesitates when asked to speak to a group of recruits about mental health.
To find out if Luca can overcome his anxiety, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching The Masked Singer and The 100.
