Tonight is the series premiere of Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time on NGC at 8/7c, followed by two more episodes at 9/8c & 10/9c. On Aug. 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina, one of the deadliest and most devastating natural disasters in U.S. history, roared into southeastern Louisiana. It tore through the Gulf Coast with catastrophic power, driving a massive storm surge toward the city and the people of New Orleans. With no rescue in sight, the residents who were left to face the rising floodwaters alone became heroes, fighting to survive against unimaginable odds. As the nation approaches the 20th anniversary of the tragedy, this groundbreaking five-part documentary series offers an unprecedented, heart-pounding look at the disaster directly from those who lived through it. The complete limited series will also air overnight Sunday night on Disney+ & Hulu.

Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of Naked and Afraid: Apocalypse on Discovery Channel at 8/7c. For the first time ever, 12 battle-tested survivalists take on a scorched, apocalyptic wasteland where they must scavenge ruins to survive. In locations long abandoned by humans, the survivalists face the franchise’s toughest challenge yet as they endure extreme heat and drought as well as unpredictable lions, elephants, black mambas and more without food, water and clothing. Four teams are dropped into forgotten corners of South Africa — spanning a ghost town, a vehicle junkyard, a cemetery, and even a mine shaft — where they must scavenge the wreckage for resources. In a franchise-first, survivalists will not be extracted but must escape this wasteland and find their way back to civilization at the end of the challenge. All the while, they must also battle relentless threats from apex predators, endure punishing heat and navigate constant dangers from rusted metal and broken glass.
