This Week on TV – 11/16/25-11/22/25

Sorry the schedule is up so late! I had a dentist appointment late morning and then spent all afternoon & evening trying to finish up one of the worst (if not the worst) manuscript edit I’ve had to do in my 15 years of editing, so I didn’t get started on this till late. There are a TON of finales on this week, so be sure to check the schedule so you don’t miss anything!

Don’t forget to comment or Tweet @tvismypacifier to let us know what YOU are planning to watch!

This six-part, 12-hour documentary series that explores the country’s founding and its eight-year War for Independence has been in production for eight years, was directed and produced by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt, and was written by long-time collaborator Geoffrey C. Ward. The filmmakers and PBS scheduled the broadcast for 2025, the 250th anniversary of the start of the war, which began in the spring of 1775, more than a year before the Declaration of Independence. Peter Coyote narrates.

Overnight was the stand-up comedy special Kathleen Madigan: The Family Thread on Amazon. Veteran comedian Kathleen Madigan turns her sharp observational wit towards her life in a blended family, tackling topics like sibling rivalry, generational divides and the surprising bonding power of doing laundry together.

Overnight was the feature film Married to a Balla 2 on Tubi. This sequel to the street-wise urban drama picks up with a newly-wed couple trying to navigate life under the glare of social media fame, designer drip, and ambition-fueled family tensions. When a past scandal resurfaces and the couple’s loyalties are tested in the fast-paced hustler world, they must decide if their bond — and their identity — can survive the spotlight. Cast: Nadia Adelay, Dominique Madison, Diana Garle, Jataun Gilbert, Zachary S. Williams, Emanuel Alexander.

Overnight was the special One Shot With Ed Sheeran on Netflix. Global music icon Ed Sheeran takes viewers on an immersive journey through one afternoon in New York City — performing his hits on sidewalks and subway cars, interacting with fans and strangers, and all captured in a single continuous take. Stylish, spontaneous and intimate, this music-experience blurs the lines between concert, documentary and street life.

Overnight was the streaming premiere of The Bad Guys 2 on Peacock. The reformed animal crew from the first film face their biggest challenge yet — an all-female criminal squad and a plan so audacious it stretches them to the edge. In a fast-paced mix of heist, redemption and buddy comedy, the Bad Guys must reconnect with their past and redefine what “good guy” really means, while the prison-to-spy transition doesn’t go exactly to plan. Voice Cast: Sam Rockwell (Wolf), Marc Maron (Snake), Awkwafina (Webs), Craig Robinson (Shark), Anthony Ramos (Piranha), Zazie Beetz (Diane Foxington).

Overnight was the streaming premiere of the feature film The Conjuring: Last Rites on HBO Max. In this intense final chapter of the celebrated horror franchise, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren return from retirement when a desperate Pennsylvania family finds themselves besieged by a demonic force tied to the Warrens’ own haunting past. With their daughter Judy drawn into the terror, the Warrens must confront a mirror-borne entity they once believed contained — and discover that to save the family, they may have to sacrifice everything they thought they knew. Cast: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Mia Tomlinson, Ben Hardy, Rebecca Calder.

Overnight was the feature film Train Dreams on Netflix. Set in the early 20th-century Pacific Northwest, this meditative drama follows Robert Grainier (Joel Edgerton) as he helps build America’s railroads, tries to maintain a marriage, and eventually reckons with loss, isolation and the changing world around him. A quiet elegy to a vanishing era, it explores how the smallest lives can hold the grandest stories. Cast: Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, Kerry Condon, William H. Macy, Nathaniel Arcand, Clifton Collins Jr.
