Tonight is the series premiere of The Hillside Strangler on MGM+ at 10/9c. This new four-part true-crime docuseries that explores the infamous murders that gripped Los Angeles in the late 1970s and the exhaustive investigation that followed. In the late 1970s, Los Angeles was the serial murder capital of the world. The Freeway Killers. The Toolbox Killers. The Dating Game Killer. The Skid Row Slasher. But none terrorized this city of millions more than the Hillside Strangler, a phantom who struck without warning, abducting, raping, and murdering a dozen women and girls and leaving their bodies displayed on the hillsides like grim trophies. These crimes sparked the largest manhunt in LA’s blood-soaked history, led by a relentless homicide detective named Frank Salerno. His dogged pursuit led to the strangler’s capture and the revelation that these vicious acts were perpetrated by two men, Kenneth Bianchi and his cousin Angelo Buono. After the longest criminal trial in U.S. history, both were sentenced to life in prison, and Salerno’s work became legend. It was the case that defined his career and set him on the path to later bring down the Night Stalker. Now, for the first time in over 40 years, Frank Salerno tells his story, revisiting the case that changed him forever. But he isn’t the only one ready to talk. Angelo Buono died behind bars in 2002, but Kenneth Bianchi is alive in prison and has never been willing to share his story on camera—until now.

Tonight is the 42-minute series premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on HBO at 10:02/9:02c. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends. It stars Bertie Carvel, Daniel Ings, Daniel Monks, Danny Webb, Dexter Sol Ansell, Edward Ashley, Finn Bennett, Henry Ashton, Peter Claffey, Sam Spruell, Shaun Thomas, Tanzyn Crawford, Tom Vaughan-Lawler, & Youssef Kerkour.

Overnight was the premiere of the documentary film Disneyland Handcrafted on Disney+. The magic of Walt Disney’s dream unfolds when this feature documentary from Leslie Iwerks takes viewers on an unforgettable journey through the exhilarating year that gave rise to The Happiest Place on Earth. Built from rare archival footage and original audio recordings, the film reveals the extraordinary artistry and grit it took hundreds of craftspeople to bring Walt Disney’s impossible dream project of Disneyland to fruition – from groundbreaking to Opening Day on July 17, 1955. The documentary captures both the legacy and nostalgia of the year leading up to the creation of the Disneyland Resort. Through newly unearthed materials from the Walt Disney Archives, Iwerks and her team uncovered long-forgotten 16mm film reels and audio recordings. The result is an unpolished, fly-on-the-wall perspective that captures what was truly happening behind the scenes, told through the firsthand accounts of the artists, craftsmen, and Imagineers who were there. Since opening over 70 years ago, Disneyland laid the groundwork for a massive global industry that is currently in the biggest era of growth, making this film a truly special treat for Disney fans.

Tonight is the premiere of the feature film Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere on Hulu at 12:01AM/11:01PMc. The Scott Cooper-directed Bruce Springsteen biopic stars Jeremy Allen White as the legendary singer-songwriter alongside Jeremy Strong as record producer Jon Landau, Paul Walter Hauser as recording engineer Mike Batlan, David Krumholtz as Columbia Records executive Al Teller, Stephen Graham as Bruce’s father Douglas, Gaby Hoffmann as Bruce’s mother Adele and Odessa Young as Bruce’s fictional love interest Faye Romano. The movie tells the story of Springsteen writing and recording his sixth studio album, “Nebraska.” Released in 1982, on the heels of five sensational hard rock albums, “Nebraska” was a bold break from Springsteen’s previous work, embracing a softer, folk sound that he recorded at home on a four-track recorder. The album was controversial, as Springsteen insisted on releasing no singles, not doing any press or a tour and retaining the songs’ unpolished sound, much to the initial chagrin of Columbia Records. Nevertheless, the album sold over a million copies and is today celebrated as a creative high point in Springsteen’s career. “Nebraska” was also deeply personal for Springsteen, and the film explores his struggles with depression while producing the album.
