I’m so excited for my pick today. A History Channel original, SIX, starts tonight. The show follows members of Navy SEAL Team Six, whose covert missing is to kill a Taliban leader in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, things go wrong when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with terrorists. The show is inspired by real missions (not BASED off of real missions, but inspired by them…), showing what the SEALs do, their personal lives, and the life-and-death decisions they make during their missions. It stars Walton Goggins (Justified, Vice Principals), Barry Sloane (Revenge), Kyle Schmid (Copper), Juan Pablo Raba (Narcos), Edwin Hodge (Chicago Fire), Dominic Adams (Devious Maids), Brianne Davis (Jarhead), Nadine Velazquez (Flight, My Name is Earl), Jaylen Moore (Homeland), Donny Boaz (The Great Debators), and Nondumiso Tembe (True Blood).

Aside from a great cast (I always love seeing Walton Goggins, who was so fantastic as Boyd Crowder in Justified, as well as Edwin Hodge, who’s been on a number of great shows.), I love the premise. The show promises a lot of action, a lot of heart… It reminds me a bit of The Unit, which is one of my all-time favorite shows. Hopefully it’ll live up to my expectations!

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six troop leader Rip Taggart makes a questionable decision while on a mission in Afghanistan; two years later, Rip is captured by Boko Haram, and it’s up to his former SEAL Team Six brothers to locate and rescue him.

Learn what questionable decision Rip makes tonight on History Channel at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Cooks vs Cons, Law & Order: SVU, black-ish, Chicago PD, & Match Game.

Tonight, TV Land’s comedy Teachers returns for its second season. The series follows the misadventures of a group of inappropriate, underqualified elementary school teachers who always seem to let their personal lives and issues take over their classroom lessons and break room discussions. The series stars the women of the improv comedy group The Katydids (the name reflects the fact that all six of the members’ names are derivatives of Katherine). I really enjoyed the first season of the show – the cast has great chemistry, there was a lot of fun physical humor and witty dialogue, and quite a few laugh-out-loud moments. I can’t wait to see what craziness these women get up to this season.

On tonight’s premiere, “First Day Back,” Ms. Watson tries a premium online dating service; Ms. Snap learns she’s teaching the worst group of kids in the school; and Mrs. Adler is assigned a mobile classroom.

Check out the start of the new season tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O’Neals, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Wall, This Is Us, New Girl, The Mick, Bones, No Tomorrow, Sweet/Vicious, and Shooter.

Freeform’s latest original series, Beyond, centers around a young man named Holden, who awakes from a 12-year coma to discover that he has some unusual abilities and finds himself at the center of a dangerous conspiracy. I’ve been watching week to week, but for those who want to binge all 8 episodes, the network made the entire season available on On Demand shortly after the premiere. When we last left off, Holden discovered that his parents had actually been separated and were only pretending to be together for his sake, and his younger brother headed back to college. Willa convinced Holden to re-enter the Realm and was helping to bring back his memories of this magical place where he “lived” with her during the years he was in a coma. Meanwhile, the mysterious man in the yellow jacket abducted Kevin for questioning and seemingly executed him afterwards. At the end of last week’s episode, Kevin’s brother – who was the one who originally put Holden in a coma – grabbed Holden at gunpoint, demanding to know where his brother was.

Who is this man in the yellow jacket who’s living a double life, what’s his agenda, and what did he want with Kevin? (I assume we’ll find out tonight, based on the episode title!) Is Kevin dead, and does his brother know about the Realm? Was putting Holden into a coma truly an accident, or was there more to it? Is Willa hiding something about why she and her grandfather need Holden to go back in? I’m enjoying the mystery so far, and the series has already been renewed for a second season, so there will be even more time for all of these questions to be properly answered.

On tonight’s episode, “The Man in the Yellow Jacket,” Holden seeks intel about the man who’s after him by teaming up with a former adversary. Meanwhile, the Matthews feel uncomfortable with Jeff’s presence in their lives; Luke struggles to find his place in the family; Willa helps another comatose patient; and Holden asks a girl out for the first time.

See if they can find the man in the yellow jacket tonight on Freeform at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Big Fan, Man With a Plan, The Celebrity Apprentice, Timeless, Gotham, and Lucifer.

Things are FINALLY coming to a head in the mole investigation on NCIS: LA. But first… On last week’s “Kulinda,” Sam was sent undercover at a private security firm after it was suspected that they had links to a gang and, even worse, a terrorist group. Thankfully, the guys all turned out to be good guys, and it was one of the younger kids in the neighborhood – who did have ties to the gang but had gotten out – and he was forced into doing what the bad guys wanted. And Sam was able to talk to head (boss) of the security firm out of killing the really bad guy when he tracked him down. AND we learned that Callen and Anna were taking their relationship very slow because she’d asked for some time to get accustomed to her job and being here full-time in the US. But she apparently decided she’d had enough of slow, because she brought him over a carb-filled breakfast and they definitely started moving in the right direction! And poor Kensi is so ready to get back to work, but Nate, who was back at the end of last week’s episode, said he would be the one to sign off on her getting back to work, and in his opinion, she wasn’t ready. Gah. Really frustrating! I mean, yeah, I think she’s covering up how she’s really feeling (not physically, but emotionally and mentally), and she needs to work through that, but…damn. At least let her back in the office to help from Ops or something!

Now we come to this week… The mole investigation has been going on way too long in my opinion, but tonight starts a three-episode arc to end that story line finally. It will get worse before it gets better, according to actors and the powers-that-be from the show, and when we do finally learn who the mole is (or who the MOLES ARE?), we’ll be shocked and won’t have seen it coming. I’m scared, people. Really scared! Eek!

On tonight’s episode, “Hot Water,” the mole has once again compromised the NCIS team as planted evidence results in the arrests of Callen, Sam, Granger, and Deeks, on the day Under Secretary Duggan (Jackson Hurst) returns for Hetty’s resignation.

Find out what gets members of the team arrested tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, The Librarians, To Tell the Truth, & Worst Cooks in America.

Oh my gravy! Last week on Rosewood, the only important thing that happened (okay, not THE ONLY one, but still…) was that at the end, Rosie learned that Tawnya had played him. After getting close to him (close enough he was thinking of living together, maybe marriage in the not-too-distant future), she stole all his money (like…ALL his money, from his safe at home AND from his bank account!) and then she and her daughter left! Ack! What a beyotch! I didn’t like her, but that was mainly because she was coming between Rosewood & Villa. Now? Oh damn. I have to wonder where that story line will go. Will he work to find her? I gotta imagine he will – or at least Villa will!

As for the case itself… It was kind of a heartbreaking one. The precinct – specifically Homicide, where Villa, Rosewood, and Slade were at the time – got taken hostage, and while it was exciting, especially since there were school kids inside, the reason the guy did it was…sort of understandable and very sad. His brother, who we figured out quickly had some mental disorder (I think it was more than just autism or Asperger’s.), had been arrested and was in jail, but the hostage taker truly believed his brother was sick, since he wasn’t normally violent. Fortunately, Rosie pushed and finally was able to meet with the brother, and he did indeed have something medically wrong, which was causing the violent temper. The hostage taker and his girlfriend/accomplice and the other accomplice (who was just in it because the guy said he could get him into the evidence room) still had to go to jail, but at least his brother was going to get the help he needed.

On tonight’s episode, “Mummies & Meltdowns,” the team is thrown for a loop when the mummified body of a notorious music producer is found on a yacht. Meanwhile, Rosewood is forced to deal with a shocking revelation about Tawnya.

To see how Rosewood deals with the shock of his stolen money, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Grimm, Last Man Standing, MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0, & Blue Bloods.
