thewalkingdead1030smallLast week’s The Walking Dead season premiere was quite divisive – it felt more like an installment of Saw with all the gruesome events that took place! The victim we saw getting killed at the end of last season turned out to be Abraham, whose last words were fittingly: “Suck…my…nuts.” However, after Daryl made a move on Negan shortly afterward, he retaliated not by attacking Daryl but rather by bashing in Glenn’s skull as well. In his dying words, Glenn cried out: “Maggie, I’ll find you.” But the night wasn’t over yet. Negan took Rick on an RV ride to make sure he understood he was the boss. And then he gave Rick a hatchet and told him to chop off Carl’s left arm or else someone else would die. Fortunately, Negan called this off before Rick was forced to mutilate his own son, but he did take Daryl with him as he left.

I’m really upset that Daryl got Glenn killed – I would have much rather have seen Daryl go, and he would have deserved it! I’m interested to see how the rest of the group reacts when they discover what happened and how the larger group will find a way to bounce back and come up with a plan for how to not only get away from Negan’s clutches but also eliminate him. I’m also curious to see how the show does in the ratings tonight – there seemed to be a huge outcry of fans saying they were done with the show after last week’s excessively gruesome and low-on-plot episode.

On tonight’s episode, “The Well,” following a number of familiar faces, the group’s introduced to a new well-established community that seems too good to be true.

To see how the group is recovering after the bloodbath last week, tune in to AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Strain, Westworld, Eyewitness, Quantico, Madam Secretary, and Worst Bakers in America.

greatindoors1027smallI love fish-out-of-water comedies, and I think I’m going to love CBS’s latest, The Great Indoors. Joel McHale (Community & The Soup) stars as Jack, a renowned adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine. He is used to traveling the world, living an “outdoorsy” life while writing up his adventures for the magazine. But when his boss, Roland (Stephen Fry!), announces that the magazine is moving to web-only, Jack has to become an office bee when Roland assigns him to supervise their online team of “journalists.” These millennials are all the opposite of Jack – used to doing everything indoors and online, where their idea of observing nature is watching a YouTube video of a bear family enjoying a swimming pool in someone’s backyard.

It should be a lot of fun watching them all try to get the other(s) to open their minds, get out of their comfort zones, and show that just because something is different, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. The show also stars Susannah Fielding, Chris Williams, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Christine Ko, & Shaun Brown.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” Joel McHale stars as Jack, a renowned adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine who must adapt to the times when he becomes the new desk-bound boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the publication. Amy Hill, Jason Boegh, Will Herndon, & Deborah Baker, Jr. guest star.

Meet Jack and the rest of the team tonight on CBS at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Rosewood, The Good Place, Chicago Med, Chopped, The Almost Impossible Game Show, Beat Bobby Flay, Impractical Jokers, & Pure Genius.

chicagopd1026smallI missed having a new episode of Chicago PD on last week because of the debate. On the episode a couple of weeks ago, people were shot and driven into with a car outside the concert of a young (teenage) rapper – including the rapper himself – and it was thought to be gang-related. It was, but not in the way they first thought. Turned out one gang was trying to turn two other gangs against each other, and it looked like it was working. They started attacking each other, until Voight took the leaders from both out to one of his spots and explained that neither were behind the original attack and to let this one go. That was a fun scene! Meanwhile, while trying to talk to some of the people on the “watch list” (a list of who they thought was most likely to be the next victim), Burgess saw Atwater’s younger brother at the house of one of the “watch list” kids. She cornered him, took him home, and stayed until Atwater got home. I don’t know if Atwater should have come down harder on the kid or not. It seemed like he kind of just brushed it under the rug. Huh…

On tonight’s episode, “A War Zone,” Intelligence is tasked with tracking down the dealers of fentanyl – a drug that has been linked to multiple overdoses around the city. As they investigate possible sources, the team uncovers a series of dealers in a college smuggling ring. Meanwhile, Tay and Burgess come across a bloodied child who exposes a dark and twisted secret about his home life with his parents. Additionally, Mouse causes tension as he looks to reenlist in the army, and Platt tells Tay that she has been reassigned to her original post.

See if they can find the dealers and why Tay has to go tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, The Goldbergs, Speechless, Criminal Minds, Frequency, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Worst Cooks in America, black-ish, & That Awkward Game Show.

ncisnola1025smallLast week was a defining episode for Sebastian on NCIS: New Orleans. While his mom was in town, he was kidnapped by a small group of people who wanted his knowledge of virtual reality games (specifically ones where you break out of prisons and locked rooms, etc.) to help break a bad guy out of prison. Sebastian kind of rocked it… He reached out secretly via tablet to Pride when the bad guy left him alone in a room in the prison so Sebastian could start the process to break out the prisoner. After the bad guys nearly got away, Sebastian actually helped take them down after the left the prison. He felt so confident that he asked out the waitress he’d been sort of flirting with for a while.

I didn’t like that Percy wasn’t there last week, especially because Lasalle didn’t know why she wasn’t there. Stupid writers… Giving us shippers some hope and then yanking it away! LMAO Tonight looks like it should be a good episode…an emotional one. I can’t wait!

On tonight’s episode, “Course Correction,” NCIS and FBI investigate a private plane crash in the bayou that killed three sailors. Also, Sonja and Lasalle interview candidates for the team’s open agent position.

See if they can figure out what caused the plane crash tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped Junior, NCIS, American Housewife, Bull, MasterChef Canada, No Tomorrow, Aftermath, Chicago Fire, & Chopped.

manwithaplan1024smallTonight, Matt LeBlanc (Friends, Episodes) returns to network TV in the new CBS sitcom Man with a Plan. LeBlanc stars as Adam, a contractor who is forced to become a more active parent to his three kids when wife Andi (Liza Snyder, Yes, Dear) decides to go back to work after being a stay-at-home mom for 13 years. Adam is in for quite a shock as he discovers just how much work goes into taking care of the children – preteen daughter Kate (Grace Kaufman, The Last Ship), middle child Teddy (Matthew McCann), and youngest Emme (Hala Finley), who’s just starting kindergarten. The series also stars Jessica Chaffin (Episodes), Diana Maria Riva (Telenovela), Matt Cook (Clipped), and Kevin Nealon (Saturday Night Live).

Back in May, I saw the original pilot for this series, where Jenna Fischer was originally playing the wife. While I wasn’t really blown away, the episode did have some fun moments and potential. I like the fish-out-of-water premise of Adam trying to figure out how to be a parent and learning how to not be played by the kids. And I’m particularly interested to see how the addition of Liza Snyder to the cast changes things, especially with her experience on a long-running family sitcom. I think this series will make a good companion to Kevin Can Wait, which also has a similar classic/retro sitcom feel to it.

On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” a contractor becomes a stay-at-home dad after his wife goes back to work.

Meet Adam and his family tonight on CBS at 8:30/7:30c

I’ll also be watching/recording Timeless, Gotham, Lucifer, Supergirl, and Jane the Virgin.
