Last week, the third season of UnREAL premiered on Lifetime. As the season opened, Rachel had just finished her six-month self-imposed exile following the deadly events of the previous season. She reluctantly agreed to return to “Everlasting,” but she warned Quinn that she had made a vow to no longer lie. Just as she arrived on set, Rachel was ready to bolt again when she saw that ex Jeremy — who committed double murder for the show last season — had also returned, but Quinn and Chet told her they needed to keep him close so that they could be sure he wasn’t going to talk to the police. For its new season, Everlasting has its first ever female suitress, Silicon Valley mogul Serena, and it looked like she wasn’t going to be as easy to control as past suitors. However, it wasn’t long before the producers were off to their usual despicable, manipulative activities, which were jaw-dropping for the show’s new on-set psychiatrist, who couldn’t believe what he was witnessing.

I had forgotten how much I missed this show until I watched the season premiere. I found myself instantly sucked back into this crazy world with these insane, manipulative people. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out!

On tonight’s episode, “Shield,” after a poker game with the contestants that leaves Serena the sore winner, Chet teaches her how to be the woman that all men want to marry. Quinn makes a connection with one of the contestants after meeting Chet’s new swimsuit model girlfriend.

Find out what Chet teaches Serena tonight on Lifetime at 10:02/9:02c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Good Girls, The Resident, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, iZombie, Final Space, and The Alienist.

I was a big fan of the original Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which last aired in 2007 (not counting the reunion special in 2013). In that show, Carson Kressley (fashion), Jai Rodriguez (culture), Kyan Douglas (grooming), Ted Allen (food & wine), & Thom Felicia (design) teamed up to take straight men and turn them into…well, just better groomed & dressed straight men in better living conditions. Men who lived in messy houses and ate ramen or mac n cheese every night, had scraggly hair or unkempt beard, who wanted to clean up some for a special woman in their life (or to FIND a special woman) or their families, etc. Jai has been in some movies (& maybe TV?), Carson is everywhere it seems, I see Kyan all the time giving makeovers on the Rachael Ray Show, and Ted Allen is all over Food Network. The only one I haven’t seen anything of is Thom. But regardless, the show was a breakout hit and definitely launched a few careers.

Now it’s back as Queer Eye season six, taking place in and around Atlanta, Georgia, instead of New York. The show will touch on everything from LGBTQ rights to making farm-to-table foods and more. With this new season comes a new Fab Five: Tan France (fashion), Karamo Brown (culture), Jonathan Van Ness (grooming), Antoni Porowski (food & wine), & Bobby Berk (design). I don’t know anything about these guys, but I have my fingers crossed that they’ll be as entertaining as the original five!

Early this morning, Netflix dropped the entire sixth season, which means you can go now and binge-watch to your heart’s content.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Librarians, 9-1-1, Guy’s Grocery Games, Law & Order: SVU, Property Brothers, The Amazing Race, Chicago PD, Corporate, & Match Game.

On last week’s episode of The Flash, Barry discovered that Big Sir had been framed and found some forensic evidence that would have cleared him. Barry asked Joe to work on Big Sir’s case, but the gang was busy trying to take down a Meta who was wreaking havoc in Central City with his ability to shrink things. However, it turned out that Barry’s suspect and the new Meta were one in the same, and during the confrontation, the Meta managed to shrink Ralph and Cisco. Meanwhile, Cecile discovered that her pregnancy had given her temporary telepathic powers — the ability to hear other people’s thoughts — which made Joe a bit uneasy, but she was able to help with the case. In the end, the group managed to catch the Meta, but he refused to confess to the crime Big Sir had been framed for. So Barry took matters into his own hands, speeding Big Sir out of the country, to freedom. However, when Barry returned to his cell, he learned that the warden had installed an extra security camera and now had visual proof that Barry was The Flash. The warden drugged Barry, took him to a secret location, and called Amunet to let her know he had a new metahuman for her.

Why does Amunet want Barry? What other metahumans does she have in her possession, and what does she plan to do with them? Will the gang discover what has happened to Barry, and can they save him? And even if Barry does escape, how will he clear his name and prevent the warden from revealing the truth about The Flash?

On tonight’s episode, “True Colors,” after hearing that Amunet has struck a deal to buy all of the metahumans in Iron Heights, Barry must decide if he should expose his powers in order to save his cellmates. After a visit from an old friend, Ralph is reminded of his shady past and wonders if he’s really a changed man.

See what Berry decides tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, Fresh Off the Boat, black-ish, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, This Is Us, LA to Vegas, The Mick, Black Lightning, and The Detour.

I am very happy that we are getting a new episode of The Good Doctor before so many shows go on break for the Olympics. This show continues to push the boundaries of what is expected from a medical show, and I love the way it is changing minds about what is normal.

Last episode, Shaun insisted that his patient was lying about how she got her burns and was sure that she was actually a terrorist. It turns out he was right. She was lying, but she wasn’t a terrorist. She was making perfume. They managed to save the patient, and once again Shaun proved he is learning more about people every day.

On tonight’s episode, “She,” Shaun learns that his young cancer patient identifies as a girl while being biologically male. He must quickly learn to understand his patient, her medical needs, and how to work with her family.

To see if Shaun can once again adapt for the sake of his patient, tune in to ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Scorpion, Lucifer, The Wall, Man With a Plan, and The Resident.

Tonight, Cinemax’s over-the-top action/adventure spy drama Strike Back returns for its fifth season on the network, with an all-new cast. The series follows the exploits of Section 20, a top-secret branch of the British Defense Intelligence service that takes on risky missions around the globe. This isn’t the first time the series has changed things up. The protagonist of the first season – which Cinemax aired as Strike Back: Origins several years after the current series premiered – had a different protagonist, and he passed the torch to Sergeants Stonebridge and Scott in the first season of the Cinemax series. Now, with Strike Back: Retribution, it’s time for the torch to be passed once again to new cast of characters.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every iteration of this series thus far. When the series moved to Cinemax, they really amped up the action and also added some humor. I look forward to meeting the new team, seeing what threat Section 20 must take down, and what exciting missions await the soldiers this season. It looks as though the series will be keeping the same US/UK dynamic of the previous four Cinemax seasons – partnering up US Joint Special Operations Command Sergeant Samuel Wyatt (Daniel MacPherson, The Shannara Chronicles) with British Army/ex-United Kingdom Special Forces Sergeant Thomas “Mac” McAllister (Warren Brown, Luther) – while also expanding out the team a bit this season. The rest of the main characters include British Army Captain Natalie Reynolds (Roxanne McKee, Dominion); Lance Corporal Gracie Novin (Alin Sumarwata, Neighbours) of Australian Army Special Operations Command; British Army Colonel Adeena Donovan (Nina Sosanya, W1A, Marcella), the leader of the revived Section 20; and Lance Corporal Will Jensen (Phil Dunster, Murder on the Orient Express) of the British Army Intelligence Corps.

On tonight’s premiere, members of Section 20 are called back into action when a new threat puts the world in danger.

Check out the season premiere tonight on Cinemax at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Absentia, Altered Carbon, Child Support, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and The Graham Norton Show.
