12monkeys59smallSyfy’s 12 Monkeys continues to be a thoroughly entertaining series in its second season. Last week Cole and Cassie had to splinter back to 1944 in order to try to stop members of the Twelve from killing someone important to the timeline. Cole and Cassie didn’t get to the man in time, but fortunately for them, the Messengers had accidentally killed the wrong person. The intended target was actually the dead man’s son, who shared the same name. Cole and Cassie tracked the younger Tommy down at a mental hospital and discovered that he behaved very much like Jennifer Goines. He seemed to easily comprehend why they were there and where they had come from. However, he had already accepted his fate that he was destined to die that day, and no matter what Cole and Cassie tried, they couldn’t stop it. Meanwhile, in 2044 Deacon wanted Ramse dead and even drove him out to dig his own grave. However, Tommy’s death in the past caused a paradox that rippled into the future – the leaves in the forest started turning red and the guys found themselves in grave danger (no pun intended) from a storm of temporal anomalies.

Ramse managed to save Deacon from getting sucked into an anomaly – perhaps this will finally end their feud? But what other side effects have these temporal anomalies caused in the future? Cole and Cassie had been knocked unconscious in the past when the police arrived, and Jones had lost their connection – how are they going to explain what happened, avoid being arrested, and find a way to splinter back home? What are the Messengers planning next, and can our gang manage to get one step ahead of them this time?

On tonight’s episode, “Emergence,” Jones reluctantly places her trust in Ramse to bring Cole and Cassie safely home after they get stranded in the year 1944. As Ramse looks forward to this chance to atone for his sins, Jones explores the true nature of time with old Jennifer Goines.

To see if Ramse can bring Cole and Cassie home, tune in to Syfy at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Castle, Blindspot, Gotham, Houdini & Doyle, Jane the Virgin, The Detour, Bates Motel, and TURN: Washington’s Spies.

thegoodwife2016smallTonight, after seven seasons, The Good Wife comes to an end, with Alicia in a similar place as when it all started. Last week, Peter’s trial began, and Diane quickly realized it was going to be an uphill battle as the judge was not a fan of Peter’s. During the trial, Diane put her husband Kurt on the stand to refute the idea that Peter had mishandled evidence. However, this resulted in the finger being pointed at Cary, which didn’t do anything to help repair the relationship between Cary and Alicia. While both sides made some good arguments, the outcome was certainly no guarantee. But as Peter contemplated taking a plea deal of 2 years, he got notice that the jury had already returned. Meanwhile, some construction workers accidentally demolished a wall on the 28th floor instead of the 18th, but Diane decided to use this to her advantage and expand her planned all-female firm with a grand two-story entrance. However, David Lee was heavily against the whole notion of the all-female firm–he threatened legal action and was extremely rude to any potential new partners in order to try to dissuade them.

Will Peter be found guilty or innocent, or will he take the plea deal before the verdict is read? Will Alicia finally divorce Peter and move on with Jason? (I can’t believe he had the nerve to ask if she’d visit him in jail – let her finally move on with her life!) And what is going to happen with Diane and David Lee’s law firm? The show has a lot of stuff to wrap up, and hopefully they will be able to give us a satisfactory conclusion for all of these characters we have followed over the past 7 years!

On tonight’s finale, “End,” the series reaches its dramatic conclusion.

To see how the show wraps it up tonight, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Family, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, The Last Man on Earth, Food Network Star, Fear the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Veep, and Dice.

bluebloods56smallThis time of year always brings me a mixture of emotions. On one hand, I am always excited to see the excellent episodes that May brings, but on the other hand, it’s finale time, which means my favorites disappear for another year. Tonight it’s Blue Bloods that is wrapping up its season, and I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see where they’ll leave us next.

On the last episode, Erin and Anthony struggled to find a way to get a witness in a murder trial to testify as he feared for his safety. Erin managed to trick the defendant into confessing on camera when she locked the witness up for contempt and just happened to place him in a cell next to the defendant. It was a very smart move, which reminded me why I’ve always loved her character. Elsewhere, Frank was being encouraged to go the union party for the police officers, but he knew that if he went, the men wouldn’t have fun, so he sent someone in as a representative instead, and that made everyone happy. I’m hoping that in the season finale, we’ll get some sort of movement on the relationship between Jamie and Eddie, because it’s high time we see them together!

On tonight’s episode, “Blowback,” things heat up as Frank, the mayor, Erin, and the DA’s office contend with public outrage after a grand jury doesn’t indict an NYPD officer for the controversial shooting of a teenager that was caught on video. Also, when an officer is shot in what seems like retaliation, Danny and Baez go on a manhunt for the suspect.

To find out if they can calm the storm of the public outrage, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race and Hawaii Five-0.

chicagopd54smallIt’s been just over a month since we last saw Chicago PD, and I’ve missed it! It’s my favorite of the “Chicago” shows, although I love all three. On the last episode, police got calls about a woman who’d stabbed a man, and it turned out the woman was a kidnapping victim who escaped when he was moving her to a new location. The guy was a total sociopath. He was a realtor and he had kept this woman chained in the basement of one of the houses. It turned out his wife was a previous victim he’d kidnapped who adamantly refused to believe the police when they tried to tell her who she really was. It finally sunk in at the end, and they were able to arrest the guy. But he was really creepy!

I’m not a big fan of the Burgess/Roman pairing they seem to be shoving down our throats. Burgess & Roman were great as partners, and Burgess is still not over Ruzek, so why are they forcing that on us? Argh. Frustrating! But I do love seeing Lindsay and Halstead! They should definitely keep giving us more of them. LOL

On tonight’s episode, “In a Duffel Bag,” responding to a call about a suspicious duffel bag at the Chicago Lakefront, Voight is horrified to discover that the bag contains the frigid and unmoving body of a newborn baby. Determined to find the culprit who abandoned the infant, Intelligence receives a promising lead based on information provided by Chicago Med, and Ruzek helps zero in on a potential suspect. Meanwhile, Voight is surprised to hear that his son is in town, and Burgess and Roman grow closer.

See if Intelligence can track down whoever left the baby in the duffel bag tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Heartbeat, Rosewood, The Goldbergs, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, black-ish, & Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

theflash53smallOn last week’s episode of The Flash, Barry had to readjust to life without his powers and was quickly reminded of how slow things move for regular human beings. He soon found his situation even more difficult when a powerful Meta Human kidnapped Doctor Wells – thinking he was his Earth-1 persona – and threatened to kill him unless Wells reversed the effects of the particle-accelerator explosion. Cisco managed to reinforce Barry’s suit to make it strong enough to withstand a Meta Human attack, and the group managed to rescue Harrison. Wells now recognized the urgency for Barry to regain his powers and decided that recreating the particle-accelerator explosion would be the solution. Meanwhile, on Earth-2, Killer Frost convinced Caitlin to help her escape from her cell and then thanked her by trying to kill her. Zoom stopped this just in time, killing Killer Frost and threatening to do the same to Caitlin if she assisted the man in the iron mask in escaping from his own cell. Afterwards, Zoom decided it was time to conquer Earth-1 and sped off with Caitlin in his arms.

What does Zoom have planned for Barry and the gang? Will Harrison be able to get Barry his powers back, will this be enough to stop Zoom, and what kind of side effects will result from another explosion? And will we ever find out who is behind that iron mask?!

On tonight’s episode, “Rupture,” Zoom arrives back on Earth-1 intent on taking over Central City. Barry and Wells plan to stop Zoom, but it’s extremely dangerous. Unsure if he should take the risk, Barry reaches out to both fathers for advice. Meanwhile, Cisco is shocked when he senses the Earth-2 villain Rupture, who is his brother Dante’s doppelgänger; and Iris decides to open up to Barry about her feelings for him.

See how the plan goes to stop Zoom tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O’Neals, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., New Girl, Grandfathered, The Grinder, and Containment.
