freshofftheboat113smallOne show I always look forward to on Tuesdays is ABC’s fun family comedy Fresh Off the Boat. Last week was the annual Halloween episode, and Louis was determined to revitalize Halloween in his neighborhood by repairing its reputation as a dead street and turn it into a prime destination for trick-or-treaters. While Louis dressed up as Mr. T, there was no convincing Jessica to wear the bow-hawk Louis got her to be his Mrs. T – she was too busy trying to protect her flip property from a group of teenage holiday pranksters. Meanwhile, Eddie and his friends plotted their candy and costume strategy. One of the guys wanted the gang to dress as members of the Traveling Wilburys, but Eddie nixed that plan and went as Humpty Hump. The rest of the family also dressed up – Emery and Evan as Hannibal Lector and a silent lamb, and Grandma Huang in a full Garfield costume.

This show is always so much fun with its witty writing, great 90s pop-culture references, and good old family fun. No matter what craziness happens throughout the episode, the Huang family always seems to come together in the end for some heartfelt moment. I always find myself laughing out loud during this show, and I can’t wait to see what the Huangs are up to next! A couple weeks ago, ABC announced that it had picked up Fresh Off the Boat for a full 22-episode season, so we’ve got plenty more fun Huang family adventures to come!

On tonight’s episode, “Good Morning Orlando,” Louis appears on a local morning show to promote Cattleman’s Ranch. In other events, Eddie and his pals try to sort out who their girlfriends are during a group date at the skating rink.

See how Louis’s appearance on TV goes tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Limitless, The Muppets, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, The Flash, and iZombie.

legends112smallTonight, Legends returns to TNT for the start of its second season, and there have been a lot of changes to the show. The only returning regular cast member from the first season is star Sean Bean (that’s a first – usually he’s the only one to die!). Martin is on the run, but he has changed his identity so many times that even he is unsure of his true identity. Is he FBI Agent Martin Odum, the man who killed the FBI director? Or is his true identity that of Iraq vet John Cameron? Or maybe he’s really a Russian gangster named Dmitry Petrovich? While Martin is on a mission to figure out who he really is – and to keep away from the various people hunting down his many personas for different reasons – he’s got some help from his former FBI boss Tony Rice (guest star Morris Chestnut), who is enlisting a new agent (Kelly Overton) to help is old friend John Cameron.

I’m interested to see how the show reinvents itself in this second season, how long Morris Chestnut sticks around (after all, he does have his own show, Rosewood), and if we’ll learn whatever happened to Martin’s old support team. Will we learn about even more of Martin’s past legends, and will he ever figure out his true identity?

On tonight’s premiere, “The Legend of Dmitry Petrovich,” Martin Odum is hiding out in present-day London, searching for clues about his identity with help from a CIA agent (Kelly Overton). Elsewhere, an investigation is launched into a Russian gangster.

Meet the new players tonight on TNT at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Supergirl, Blindspot, Gotham, Minority Report, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jane the Virgin, Fargo, Major Crimes, Awkward., and Faking It.

thewalkingdead111smallIt was another amazing episode of The Walking Dead last Sunday, one that kicked off a huge debate as to whether or not one of the series’ original characters is actually dead. The episode gave us the point of view of Rick and his group just after the horn sounded as the Alexandria massacre was taking place. Rick headed off on his own to get the RV so he could try to divert the walkers from Alexandria. This left Glenn and Michonne to lead the rest of the Alexandrians to safety. As he left, Rick warned his friends to not be dragged down by these people and abandon them if they had to in order to survive.

While trying to outrun the walkers, quite a few members of this under-experienced group ended up dead. By the end of the episode, Glenn and Nicholas found themselves in an alleyway full of walkers, standing on top of a dumpster with no way out. Nicholas decided he couldn’t take any more and shot himself in the head, knocking Glenn and himself into the sea of walkers. We then saw Glenn screaming as the walkers seemingly pulled out his guts – or did Nicholas fall on top of him, and they were actually tearing into him instead? (fingers crossed!)

The episode ended with Rick making it to the RV, but he had trouble getting it started. And to make things worse, the Wolves showed up, but he managed to get a gun and spray bullets all along the side of the RV, taking them out. He continued to struggle with the RV, but the gunfire had attracted a large horde of walkers, who were quickly surrounding the vehicle.

Is Glenn really dead? If not, how the heck is he going to get out of the situation he’s in? The same goes for Rick –will Daryl show up to somehow distract the walkers so he can get the RV out of there? And what’s with his hand? It seemed badly injured. Is it infected? Will Rick need to chop off his hand (or more) in order to stay alive? Or is his situation even worse?

It was just announced the other day that The Walking Dead has been picked up for a seventh season – which is a no-brainer (no pun intended) – so fans can relax, knowing there’s a lot more to come.

On tonight’s 90-minute episode, “Here’s Not Here,” a new face appears; trust issues form.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, Quantico, The Librarians, Talking Dead, The Leftovers, Project Greenlight, and Homeland.

grimm1030smallTonight, Grimm returns to NBC for the start of its fifth season. When we last left off, Nick was shocked to discover his mother’s decapitated head in a box on the floor of his house, and he wanted to get revenge on those responsible. He soon realized that Juliette had been working with the Royals to set up his mother, and his main focus became hunting them down. When he eventually ended up face-to-face with Juliette, he immediately grabbed her neck and started to choke her, but he couldn’t bring himself to kill her. Juliette sensed his weakness and went after him, but Trubel stepped in, shooting her dead with a crossbow. As Nick mourned the loss of his love, Agent Chavez showed up outside, telling her people to “get her.”

Is Agent Chavez there for Trubel or Juliette, and what does she want with her? Does Chavez realize that Nick is also a Grimm, and what would she do if she did know? Is Juliette really dead (I’m assuming so, but you never know on a show like this)? And if so, how is that going to affect Nick this season? And how is Nick going to feel about Trubel now that she shot and killed his love (or at least the thing that looked like her). And finally, what about Adalind, who’s carrying Nick’s child? What can we expect of this half-Wessen/half-Grimm child?!

It should be an interesting and exciting season (though I will miss Juliette) – and with Halloween just one day away, it’s the perfect night for this premiere!

On tonight’s episode, “The Grimm Identity,” Nick’s life in total chaos following the beheading of his mother and the death of Juliette. In the wake of such loss, he struggles with how to move forward and what to do about Adalind, who’s pregnant with his child. At the same time, his search for truth leads him to FBI Agent Chavez and puts him at odds with those close to him.

To see how Nick deals with everything, tune in to NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Amazing Race, Undateable, Truth Be Told, Z Nation, and The Knick.

theplayer1029smallThe Player has been delivering unbelievable twists and turns from the very beginning, and I am hooked. Last week we watched as Alex raced to save a teenage hacker from the Chinese Triad, who wanted him dead because he tried to reverse a virus that was planted in the Pentagon’s system. Despite a few bumps along the way, Alex managed to save Solomon, and Cassandra helped him strike a deal with the NSA. Solomon returned the favor to Alex by decoding the pictures Alex gave him, and there was a phone number hidden there. Alex called the phone number, and Ginny answered. She’s alive! However, it was very apparent she was being held against her will, and when Alex called the number back, it was disconnected. I’m not sure where this is going to go, but I do know that Alex will move heaven and earth to rescue his wife.

On tonight’s episode, “The Norseman,” the House bets on whether Alex can stop a serial killer by Halloween; Detective Brown pursues Cassandra.

Find out if Alex can save the day before the clock runs out tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Grey’s Anatomy, Chopped, Bones, Sleepy Hollow, The Blacklist, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder.
