Megan, Kyle, & I have been giving our opinions on the trailers for the new fall shows. You can check out the ones we’ve already posted: ABC, CBS, NBC, & FOX. Now, we’re here to give you our opinions on the CW pilot previews.
- Jenny: Not. My. Thing. At. All. Even less so than regular dramas. Marking as Most Likely 1 and Done…but I’m not even going to give it that much. – Most Likely 1 and Done.
- Megan: A story about Mary Queen of Scots? I’m intrigued…but cautious. This is an astronomical story to tackle, and if they mess it up (which, frankly, The CW has a history of doing), it’ll be horrific. Don’t mess with historic figures unless you can do them justice. All that aside, the trailer looks promising and I’m mildly hopeful. – Curious.
- Kyle: From the video, you can’t really tell what this is about. If it falls into the political Tudors-style show, then I’m excited. However, if it falls into a romance drama like most CW shows, I’ll most likely be dropping it quickly. – Curious.

Megan, Kyle, & I have been giving our opinions on the trailers for the new fall shows. You can check out the ones we’ve already posted: ABC & CBS. Now, we’re here to give you our opinions on the NBC shows, starting with the dramas.
- Jenny: I started to mark this one as Most Likely 1 and Done, but…it’s vampires. My problem with it is the historical aspect of it. I’m not a fan of shows set way back when, so I have a feeling that will override my love of vampires. Therefore, I’m putting this as Curious. It looks like if it’s done right, it’ll be good for those people who don’t mind the historical aspect. We’ll see… – Curious.
- Megan: I really enjoyed The Tudors—it was incredibly dramatic and full of some intense sexual themes (so not appropriate for NBC LOL)—so a lot of the same cast/crew on this show makes me hopeful. I love supernatural shows, but my only worry is if they will be able to keep the show going for a full season without it getting boring. – Excited.
- Kyle: I liked The Tudors, and this series finds the same people working with the same actor, so I have some hope. My only fear is how do they keep the story going for a full season? – Curious.

In case you missed it, Megan, Kyle, & I gave our opinions yesterday on the ABC trailers. You can view that here. Now, we’re here to give you our opinions on the CBS shows, starting with the dramas.
- Jenny: I want to like this show so badly because I love Dylan McDermott, and it’s part cop show…but I have a feeling it’s going to be a no-go for me for several reasons. One, the drama aspect (like all the stuff going on with the kids—the pregnant daughter, drug-dealing son or something), and two, I hate watching things with dirty cops. (One of my most hated movies I’ve ever watched is Training Day, with a dirty Denzel Washington.) But I’ll give it a shot because of how much I want to like it. – Curious.
- Megan: Very rarely do I not like a Jerry Bruckheimer drama, so I’m sure this is quickly going to become a must watch for me. The premise of a political conspiracy where Ellen (Toni Collette) is being coerced to assassinate the President to save her family, who are being held hostage by Duncan Carlisle (Dylan McDermott) is a very intriguing and exciting one. I love that it’s only a 12-episode season so the story line is forced to move quickly and dramatically, similar to shows on cable networks like HBO. – Excited.
- Kyle: This looks like an exciting series from executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer and starring Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott, who I’ve enjoyed in other dramatic series. I like that it is only a 12-episode series, starting in September and ending in January—which means that it should hopefully be a lot tighter in the writing, won’t drag on, and will give some resolution by the end. – Excited.
