This week’s episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (titled: “Is Josh Free in Two Weeks?â€) really brings on the crazy, when we find Rebecca trying to plan a DIY wedding in less than two weeks.
Recap:
Rebecca is trying on dresses at home since she has sped up her wedding plans to get everything done in two weeks. She’s recapping everything to her delivery guy, Patrick (Seth Green). No wedding planner wants to take her wedding on since it’s too soon and “binders.†It appears that Rebecca’s mother is no help since she’s getting injections in her face and won’t be recovered until the wedding. And she can’t wear her mother’s dress since she had burned all her “fat clothes†(Rebecca’s mom was 5 months pregnant when she got married). And when Rebecca goes to her Matron of Honor, Paula, she’s cramming with Sunil and other classmates for their finals. In their new friendship, instead of Rebecca pushing herself on Paula, she tells her she can handle it herself and leaves Paula to study.
At home, she’s researching how to throw herself a wedding, and when Heather mentions “DIY,†Rebecca’s crazy switch flips on. Using her new search terms, she finds a lot of websites dedicated to DIY weddings. She finds a website dedicated to a Nova Socinian couple named Dustin and Sasha, who happen to have a checklist for everything they did. Rebecca vows to do the exact same wedding all by herself. She mentions to Heather that 50 people have RSVP’d “yes†so far, but none of those people are her father.

Saturday is the season premiere of Counting Cars on History Channel at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c.
Following that is the series premiere of Detroit Steel on History Channel at 10/9c. This new unscripted series celebrates the Motor City’s automotive legacy by creating rare, custom rides that mix Detroit’s celebrated past and its evolving future. Adam Genei and the team at his car customization shop, Mobsteel, give vintage cars a modern, mean look. From the days of Henry Ford and the Model T, Detroit has always been where car legends are born. Though the city has had its ups and downs, Genei and his wife and co-owner, Pam, are committed to fostering American engineering and bringing back Detroit one car at a time. Like their slogan says, Mobsteel, along with Adam’s sister business Detroit Steel Wheels, builds “rides to die for.” From classic cars that call back to America’s automotive roots to muscle cars that need a supercharged rebirth, the team is up for any challenge. Whether they are discovering hidden automotive treasures in a garage, a junkyard, or from a collector, they take full advantage of the history available in Detroit. If they can’t find a part, the Mobsteel team makes it themselves. The end product is a never-before-seen creation that transforms the best of Motown into a one-of-a-kind ride that is the envy of car enthusiasts across the country.

Last week’s Rosewood had some character growth, some shockers, and some bad news. The case was kind of fun. I love magic, so any time a story line is set in the world of magicians, I tend to enjoy it. Turned out the killer was a fellow magician who poisoned the victim with homemade cyanide (made from apricot pits!). The killer was “always a bridesmaid, never the bride,†or rather he was always the opening act, never the star. On the character front, there was good news and bad news. Good news? Hornstock chose not to accept a job he’d applied for as the captain in Palm Beach, which means he’s sticking around. How that’ll continue to play against current captain, Ryan Slade, I have no idea. But I kinda love Hornstock and Villa’s mom. That’s a fun situation, having your coworker/former boss in a relationship with your mom! LOL For the so-so news (depending on your “shipper†stance…), Rosie spent the episode vetting Adrian as a match for Villa. In the end, Rosie has so far given Adrian a thumbs-up, but for some reason, Villa is still waffling a bit. Adrian told her he wasn’t going anywhere, which makes me sad, but whatever… Now for the bad news… The doctor told Rosie that the bender he went on after the lying, thieving witch left did more damage to his body than he thought. He was told to gather his family because he would need them.
Eek! So what did Rosewood do to his body/heart?? Will it serve to bring him and Villa closer or will he push that much harder to make Villa happy with Adrian?
On tonight’s episode, “Puffer Fish & Personal History,†when a victim, presumed dead, wakes up on Rosie’s autopsy table, the team is thrown into a world in which people go to great lengths to keep their secrets hidden. Both Rosie and Villa are forced to re-examine the meaning of family, and Rosie’s search for a Magic City Lab investor leads him to a surprising candidate.
