If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/30/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

thewalkingdead1030smallLast week’s The Walking Dead season premiere was quite divisive – it felt more like an installment of Saw with all the gruesome events that took place! The victim we saw getting killed at the end of last season turned out to be Abraham, whose last words were fittingly: “Suck…my…nuts.” However, after Daryl made a move on Negan shortly afterward, he retaliated not by attacking Daryl but rather by bashing in Glenn’s skull as well. In his dying words, Glenn cried out: “Maggie, I’ll find you.” But the night wasn’t over yet. Negan took Rick on an RV ride to make sure he understood he was the boss. And then he gave Rick a hatchet and told him to chop off Carl’s left arm or else someone else would die. Fortunately, Negan called this off before Rick was forced to mutilate his own son, but he did take Daryl with him as he left.

I’m really upset that Daryl got Glenn killed – I would have much rather have seen Daryl go, and he would have deserved it! I’m interested to see how the rest of the group reacts when they discover what happened and how the larger group will find a way to bounce back and come up with a plan for how to not only get away from Negan’s clutches but also eliminate him. I’m also curious to see how the show does in the ratings tonight – there seemed to be a huge outcry of fans saying they were done with the show after last week’s excessively gruesome and low-on-plot episode.

On tonight’s episode, “The Well,” following a number of familiar faces, the group’s introduced to a new well-established community that seems too good to be true.

To see how the group is recovering after the bloodbath last week, tune in to AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Strain, Westworld, Eyewitness, Quantico, Madam Secretary, and Worst Bakers in America.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/28/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Megan’s Choice

hawaiifiveo1028smallHawaii Five-0 has been incredibly strong this season so far with the chess piece killer storyline – especially with McGarrett and Alicia being kidnapped two weeks ago. I have to say I was actually surprised yet relieved that it was a female serial killer this time, because we’ve had so many male killers. It’s a fresh angle. Even though McGarrett and Alicia got away from her, I assure you we definitely haven’t seen the last of this killer, since she got away…and producers have said we should see her again later this season.

Last week was more of an emotional rollercoaster, in the sense that Adam was finally released from prison, allowing Kono to be reunited with her love. It was also very emotional watching Chin struggle with the knowledge that the people who are adopting his niece aren’t actually who they say they are, but he can’t prove it. I really hope they work it out, because personally I think she’d be better off staying with Chin.

On tonight’s episode, “Ka hale ho’okauweli (House of Horrors),” on Halloween, Five-0 investigates the murder of a medium with a checkered past who was apparently scared to death by a poltergeist. Also, Kono and Adam are kidnapped by what appears to be a death cult.

To see if the team can save Kono and Adam before it’s too late, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching MacGyver and Blue Bloods.
