If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/25/13

I hope Megan’s winter is letting up…but mine isn’t! As of Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday for me are supposed to be full of snow again…which I’m guessing means my kid won’t have school on Tuesday. Oi. LOL They’ve used all their snow days, so if they take any more days off for the weather like that, they’ll have to extend out the school year. So to take my mind off the winter blues, I’m going to curl up and watch some great new TV. Check out what we think YOU should be watching. 😉

bones225smallLast week’s episode of Bones alternately made me laugh (the whole Cam/Michelle and Cam/Finn conversations were great!) and cry (I was SO SO SO mad at both those mothers of the teenagers. Like…throw things at my TV mad. To tell her daughter not to say anything about being raped? Possibly the worst case of parenting I’ve ever seen on TV. Eek! I mean, it was good for the SHOW, but damn…). And then poor Sweets… Not only did we learn that he’d been abused, but he had to basically lie to the girl after she confided in him what had happened. It was for her own good and for the good of the case, but it was still hard for them both. In the end, I think she accepted that he’d done what he had to do and why, and that made it worth it.

On tonight’s episode, “The Fact in the Fiction,” when extremely educated new intern Dr. Oliver Wells (guest star Brian Klugman) starts working at the Jeffersonian, his quick-learning, enthusiastic personality challenges Brennan as he gets under her skin with his eccentric but undeniable observations, causing her to try to be more open-minded about many scientific questions. Meanwhile, Booth worries she may have gone too far when she accepts the possibility of time travel as a factor in a murder investigation. (Just as a side note, Brian Klugman’s uncle was Jack Klugman—who died in December of 2012—one half of TV’s Odd Couple.)

To see Brennan maybe go a *tad* bit too far, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Bones @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Continuum, How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, 2 Broke Girls, The Following, Mike & Molly, Diners, Drive-in & Dives, Pawn Star$, & Castle.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/15/12

Holy crow! Can you believe that this month is almost over? Halloween is upon us, and I’m already planning my Christmas decorating, baking, and shopping (stop groaning 🙂 ). Alright, I’ll stop jumping in time…for now, let’s just focus on all the great television that is on tonight.

Hawaii Five-0 never ceases to amaze me with the writers’ ability to combine intense drama and great comedy with a fabulous cast (and not just the fact that they are crazy sexy.) Last week, we watched McGarrett and Dano get stuck in a dingy, when true characters come out. McGarrett (aka my TV boyfriend) managed to tow the dingy while Dano sat and panicked about the shark in the water. Danny seriously needs to take a chill pill.

On tonight’s episode, “Misfortune,” Doris McGarrett (guest star Christine Lahti) pays an unexpected visit to her son while the team investigates the death of a polo player who literally loses his head.

To see how my TV boyfriend saves the day yet again, tune in to CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hawaii Five-0 @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Mike & Molly, 2 Broke Girls, and Revolution.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/17/12

There may not be a few of my favorites on tonight (Damn you, CBS!), but there is plenty of great TV to watch! Besides what we think you should be watching below, don’t miss a night of new TV on ABC Family, the series premiere of Remodeled on The CW, a new reality competition show on TLC called Ink Master, and the winter premiere of White Collar (which I don’t watch or I’d have recommended it as one of my picks! lol). Now, on to what we do think you should watch!

I’m so excited, because Justified returns for it’s third season! I love a lot of characters on TV, but I’m not sure there is any other character like Raylan Givens, brilliantly played by the gorgeous Timothy Olyphant. The man exudes confidence. He’s not afraid to do what he needs to do to get the job done. Sure, it’s not always…legal, but he’ll do whatever it takes to put the bad guys away—whether it be to prison or into the ground. Last season was fantastic, with the equally brilliant Margo Martindale. Unfortunately, her character committed suicide in the season finale, so she won’t be around this season. But Boyd Crowder, who spent most of last season either waffling between good and bad or pretending to, is back to totally butting heads with Raylan, so that’s cool. All in all, it is always a great show, so don’t miss the season premiere tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “The Gunfighter,” the arrival of a dangerous new player in Lexington puts Raylan on a collision course with a sadistic Dixie Mafia hitman.

Check it out tonight on FX at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Justified @ Clicker.

TV News – 12/10/10

TGIF! Here I am today with a few little pieces of news for you. I can’t believe how quickly this week went by, but also how quickly December is flying by. Only two weeks until Christmas Eve! 🙂

Some great news for fans of A.J. Cook (Criminal Minds), she’s coming back to TV. It may only be a guest starring role on Law & Order : SVU, but it’s a start! Cook will be playing, “OB/GYN Debbie Shields, the lesbian lover of the daughter of Jeremy Iron’s (who also guest stars this episode) character, Cap Jackson, a sex therapist who works at a rehab center. Her character will be the victim of a brutal attack.” Sounds like a great treat for fans of A.J. Cook, but let’s be honest we’d be happier if she was still on Criminal MInds! All that bitterness aside, we’re happy if she’s simply making it back to our television.Source

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/15/10

NBC released their spring schedule, and it’s a doozy. A three hour comedy block on Thursday, shows moving around, the premiere of Parks and Recreation… Lots of good stuff. Find out more on news later. For now, though, let’s see what we think you should watch!

I debated back and forth between Chuck and Castle for my pick today, but one thing pushed me over the edge for Chuck, and that is the appearance of Summer Glau as this week’s Greta. Summer starred with Adam Baldwin in Firefly, and has been in other fan favorites, such as Dollhouse, The Unit, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and is going to be in the new NBC show, The Cape, premiering in January. I love her, and can’t wait to see her dealing with Morgan on tonight’s episode.
