Saturday—night, especially—had to have been one of the worst days/nights I’ve had in a long time, so I’m incredibly glad today is a new day. It’s the start of a week packed full of new television, including some big episodes, like the series finale of The Closer. So as always, we’re here to tell you what we think you should be watching. 🙂
Jenny’s Choice #1
One of my favorite new shows of the summer has been A&E’s Longmire. If you’re a fan of Justified, you might very well enjoy this show, too. The lead character, Walt Longmire, isn’t as quick to draw his gun as Raylan Givens, but the shows kind of remind me a lot of each other in some respects. Maybe it’s just because the leads wear cowboy hats, but I think a lot of it is that Walt & Raylan both tend to like to work alone as much as they can and don’t necessarily like to play strictly by the rules. All season, we’ve gotten glimpses of how Walt’s past. We know his wife has been dead a year, and we know she had cancer…but from what Scott & I have been able to piece together, something else happened that killed her. What, we don’t know, but we should find out more tonight. Last week, Walt finally confronted both his daughter and his deputy—and opponent for sheriff!—about sleeping together. It was really intense…but this week, it looks like Walt and Branch will come to blows over it all. Exciting stuff! I’m so happy this show has been renewed already. It really is a great addition to the summer schedule.
On tonight’s episode, “Unfinished Business,” Walt investigates the murder of a teenager who was one of four boys acquitted of raping a developmentally disabled Cheyenne girl. When another boy is killed, all signs point to the crime being an act of revenge by the girl’s brother. But Walt is not convinced by the circumstantial evidence and must find the real killer before someone else ends up dead. And the arrival of a detective from Denver forces Walt to finally confront the reality of his wife’s death. Michael McGrady (Southland) guest stars.
Don’t miss it tonight on A&E at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Longmire @ Clicker.
