Ahh, baseball. What a crazy series it’s been so far! The Royals are playing for their life tonight in Game #6. The Giants are up 3-2 right now, but my team is coming home for tonight’s game (& tomorrow’s—I have faith!), so here’s hoping the hometown crowd will carry them through! That’s what I’ll be watching live, but the others and I have some recommendations on what you should be watching if baseball’s not for you (or to DVR, like I am. 😉 ).
Jenny’s Choice
My pick tonight is Chicago Fire. Last week, Casey learned that his brother-in-law was cheating on his wife (Casey’s sister) and that they were getting a divorce. His sister didn’t know about the cheating, but she wants to just be done with it, even though her scum of a husband moved his company to his girlfriend’s/assistant’s name so his wife wouldn’t get anything in the divorce. Casey surprised him and his girlfriend and basically threatened them, saying they would meet up to look over the books. Meanwhile, he and Dawson (Casey more so than her) were having trouble balancing their personal life with their professional one. It was annoying Herrmann so much that he told the Chief he didn’t think it was working and then eventually blew up at Dawson, who told him she’d been leaving the compartment door open on purpose to see if he’d say something, because she knew the guys had been treading lightly and treating her differently. She told him to train her, rather than leaving it to Casey, and he agreed, pleased that she’d asked. Also, Cruz is back behind the wheel after the chief went to bat for him with the higher-ups, and Brett’s place was broken into and she chased the thief off. Her ex-fiance tried to use that to get her to move and then tried to make her feel bad when she refused. I wouldn’t actually put it past him to have set it up to scare her into going back “home” with him.
On tonight’s episode, “Madmen and Fools,” Casey comes to the aid of his sister Christie (guest star Nicole Forester) and faces down his corrupt brother-in-law, while Brett goes above and beyond for a mother in need. Elsewhere, Mills gets educated on the exciting world of unlicensed private investigation, and Dawson begins training with Herrmann.
See how Dawson’s training goes tonight on NBC at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing 19 Kids & Counting, NCIS: NOLA, MasterChef Canada, Forever, NCIS, Chopped, Restaurant Redemption, Town of the Living Dead, Person of Interest, & Benched.
