If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/11/11

In case you missed it, last night, there was a purging of shows on FOX. The only thing left on FOX that has not been renewed or canceled, is American Idol. They canceled Breaking In, Human Target, The Chicago Code, Lie to Me, and Traffic Light. My husband & I are super, super bummed, because both of us love the first two, and he was really enjoying the third. There is still a lot on TV, though, including tonight, so cry a little bit, and then check out what we think you should watch!

Jenny’s Choice #1

My first pick tonight is the season finale of Better with You. It hasn’t been renewed yet by ABC, but I have my fingers crossed, because it’s one of my favorite new comedies. I absolutely love how they take similar scenarios and show us how they play out with the 3 different couples, all at different stages of their relationships. Each of the actors and characters are unique and funny on their own, and together, they have fantastic chemistry. All season, we’ve been heading towards the wedding between Mia and Casey, and birth of their baby. Tonight’s season finale gives us both.

On tonight’s episode, while in labor, Mia and Casey decide that they should be married before baby Charlie comes into the world. The rush is on to make the wedding happen, as Casey and Ben dash to City Hall for the marriage license. Maddie puts herself in charge of finding an authorized person to perform the ceremony, and Vicky and Joel hurry to the hospital’s gift shop to find the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” items.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/27/11

It’s Wednesday, which means we’re part way through what has been a LONG week for me. I swear, I just wish I could start the week over, with a healthy kid and happy spouse. Sheesh! Hopefully the second half of the week will be better. As for tonight, there are some shows missing from the lineup, but there is still plenty of good stuff on, so check out what we think you should watch below!

Jenny’s Choice

Like I mentioned the other day, I’ve become a huge fan of Better with You on ABC. There are quite a few comedies on TV now that are worth watching, and this little gem of a show is definitely one of them. The cast is phenomenal. I honestly can’t think of one negative thing about any of the characters, and together, they form a fantastic group. This show has become appointment TV for me, and if you haven’t yet, you should definitely give it a shot!

On tonight’s episode, once the very pregnant Mia realizes her condition won’t let her take part in all of her wedding festivities, she and Casey decide to reschedule the wedding until after the baby is born. Unfortunately, the bridal shop manager refuses to refund Joel’s money. Ben tries to make Joel shed tears he is fighting against as payback for teasing he took when his childhood dog died.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/25/11

Ugh, well, Happy Monday to everyone. Josh is home sick again, with a stomachache and…I’ll be nice and say intestinal issues. lol Poor kid. So I got up late, am running behind, and therefore, the Remote post is late. Sorry! On a good note, I get to go see one of 2 showings this weekend of Top Gun, one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME, because of the 25th Anniversary. Plus, I get a theatre-sized Top Gun poster! That’s theatre-size Tom Cruise! And as my husband pointed out, that’s young, HOT Tom Cruise, not creepy, old scientology Tom Cruise! *laugh* Anyway, on to what we think you should be watching tonight.

There isn’t a lot on tonight, unfortunately. But I’m definitely looking forward to watching the new episode of Better with You with my husband. I’ve seen tonight’s episode already, but he hasn’t, and it’s a good one! When the show first started, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. In fact, when I saw the pilot before it aired on TV, I *didn’t* like it. But then I watched it again when it came out, and it has now become one I genuinely look forward to each week. I love something about each of the characters, and that’s kind of rare for me. Normally, there is at least one character I don’t particularly like, or find more annoying that anything, but not on this show. Also, if you are a fan of Dancing With the Stars, you’ll want to stick around for tonight’s ep of Better with You, because my fave pro dancer on that series guest stars on this one!

On tonight’s episode, Casey realizes that Mia has two left feet during their first wedding dance lesson, and he asks the dance instructor (guest star Derek Hough) to keep his secret after bombing his moves. Ben asks Larry King for advice on handling a spat he had with Maddie about Vicky and Joel. (Yes, it’s really Larry King. lol)

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/3/10

It’s mid-week, so half the work week is done, yay! After a pretty darn slow night last night, tonight comes roaring back, with 38 new episodes on TV! Thankfully, no, I don’t watch all those! haha Baseball is over (congrats to the Giants fans!), the election is over (congrats to all of us. LOL), and it’s back to our regularly scheduled programming. So what do we think you should watch tonight? Read on and find out!

Yes, it’s Wednesday again, which means you should know my choice. Unoriginal, maybe. Am I apologetic because of it? Nah, not at all. LOL This is what *I* think you should be watching, and Criminal Minds is what I think you should be watching! 😉

On tonight’s episode, when bodies begin turning up in the cornfields of Indiana, the BAU team must find a pack of serial killers preying on exotice dancers. It’s a soap opera night, as guest stars include Robert Newman (Guiding Light) as Sheriff Jeff Salters, who aids the team in its investigation, and Melissa Claire Egan (All My Children) as exotic dancer Tara Dice.
