Interview with Bailey Buntain from Bunheads

baileyb1smallUnless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve seen or heard something about ABC Family’s amazing show, Bunheads. I was a fan from the beginning, especially because I was already such a huge Amy Sherman-Palladino fan from her work on Gilmore Girls.

The cast on Bunheads is so talented, with their dancing and their acting combined. It’s a fabulous recipe for success.

Recently, the adorable and fiesty Bailey Buntain, who plays Ginny, took some time to speak with journalists about her character, the show, and life in general.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/25/13

I hope Megan’s winter is letting up…but mine isn’t! As of Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday for me are supposed to be full of snow again…which I’m guessing means my kid won’t have school on Tuesday. Oi. LOL They’ve used all their snow days, so if they take any more days off for the weather like that, they’ll have to extend out the school year. So to take my mind off the winter blues, I’m going to curl up and watch some great new TV. Check out what we think YOU should be watching. 😉

bones225smallLast week’s episode of Bones alternately made me laugh (the whole Cam/Michelle and Cam/Finn conversations were great!) and cry (I was SO SO SO mad at both those mothers of the teenagers. Like…throw things at my TV mad. To tell her daughter not to say anything about being raped? Possibly the worst case of parenting I’ve ever seen on TV. Eek! I mean, it was good for the SHOW, but damn…). And then poor Sweets… Not only did we learn that he’d been abused, but he had to basically lie to the girl after she confided in him what had happened. It was for her own good and for the good of the case, but it was still hard for them both. In the end, I think she accepted that he’d done what he had to do and why, and that made it worth it.

On tonight’s episode, “The Fact in the Fiction,” when extremely educated new intern Dr. Oliver Wells (guest star Brian Klugman) starts working at the Jeffersonian, his quick-learning, enthusiastic personality challenges Brennan as he gets under her skin with his eccentric but undeniable observations, causing her to try to be more open-minded about many scientific questions. Meanwhile, Booth worries she may have gone too far when she accepts the possibility of time travel as a factor in a murder investigation. (Just as a side note, Brian Klugman’s uncle was Jack Klugman—who died in December of 2012—one half of TV’s Odd Couple.)

To see Brennan maybe go a *tad* bit too far, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Bones @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Continuum, How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, 2 Broke Girls, The Following, Mike & Molly, Diners, Drive-in & Dives, Pawn Star$, & Castle.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/4/13

Wow… That was quite the game last night, wasn’t it? That crazy 108-yard return for a touchdown? The 49ers rallying back, only to lose by so little? It was a very fun game to watch. But tonight, there’s no football. There’s just some great TV. So check out what we think you should be watching! 🙂

castle24smallIt’s been two weeks since the last new episode of Castle. I swear, I don’t know what I’m going to do come May when the season finale airs. Probably be a sobbing mess because I don’t want to miss the show over the summer! The last episode was kind of sad because the murder victim was killed simply because he was trying to do the right thing and turn his life around after finding out the woman he loved was pregnant with his child. The most touching part of the episode was at the very end, I think, when she and her father met up at the station to go home together. He had been one of the biggest protestors against her boyfriend, and even though he had just found out about her being the dead guy’s girlfriend & stuff, he was there to support her. It was sweet. We didn’t get a lot of Caskett moments, and it was even kind of a downer for fans of Esposito & Lanie because Espo spent his time flirting with & going out with the dead guy’s head of security. Hopefully we’ll see more of both couples (or couple & non-couple?) this week & in the rest of the season.

This should be a very good episode this week. The man who killed Beckett’s mother and tried to have Beckett herself killed is back, and this time, Beckett may have a legal reason to lock him up. I doubt it, but it would be nice to see that smug bastard behind bars, wouldn’t it?

On tonight’s episode, “Recoil,” while investigating the murder of a young woman, Castle and Beckett find evidence that links her death with Senator William H. Bracken (guest star Jack Coleman), the man responsible for Beckett’s mother’s murder. Determined to finally bring Bracken to justice, Beckett soon realizes that things are far more complicated than they seem. Michael Dorn also returns as Beckett’s therapist, Dr. Carter Burke.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/28/13

Happy Monday! What a way to start the week…with a high of 71 degrees. Woohoo! Sorry for those of you still in freezing temperatures, but I promise, it won’t last for me. We’re supposed to be back down in the 20s later this week. Boo! As for tonight, my window will be open to let in the nice air while I watch some great TV. What should you be watching? Read on to find out. 😉

thefollowing128smallI have to admit that even though I had access to the pilot (& more) of The Following before it aired, I waited to watch until it actually played last week. I wanted to watch it with my husband, and I knew I would enjoy it more if I hadn’t already watched it once already. I’m glad I did, because I wasn’t disappointed. We followed along with the story, hanging onto the edge of our seats. I TOTALLY called that the neighbors/friends weren’t really good guys, that they were two of “the followers,” although I did guess that they weren’t really gay, either. I guess we’ll see how that plays out. The show was totally creepy, from minute one until the very end. Kevin Bacon was everything I’d hoped he would be on a primetime show, and the supporting cast is great so far. I didn’t like Jeananne Goossen’s Jennifer Mason at first, but I liked her more toward the end. Unfortunately, she was only in the pilot, I believe, replaced by “cult expert” Debra Parker (played by Law & Order’s Annie Parisse). Shawn Ashmore (brother to Aaron, who stars in Syfy’s Warehouse 13) was great, and I can’t wait to see more of him. Overall, I’m excited to see more of the show, which is why it’s my first pick tonight.

On tonight’s episode, “Chapter Two,” Ryan Hardy, Agent Mike Weston, and FBI Specialist Debra Parker, who is brought in to lead the investigation into Joe Carroll and his followers, dive deeper into the history of Carroll’s psyche. To do so, they enlist the help of Carroll’s ex-wife, and Hardy’s former love, Claire Matthews (Natalie Zea). Meanwhile, Emma (Valorie Curry), Jacob (Nico Tortorella), and Paul (Adan Canto) keep Claire’s son Joey (Kyle Catlett) at a house in the country as they prepare for their next move.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/21/13

Well, it was a much, MUCH better weekend for my family than the last. We’re all well—no more strep throat or throwing up, thank goodness!—and the kiddo finally got to have his birthday “party” after having postponed it because he was sick earlier in the month. He had a friend over to play video games all afternoon, then they made their own pizzas and ice cream sundaes, and then played way late into the night before crashing. On the TV front, I caught up on a lot of great stuff in preparation for the new week. What about you? There’s some good stuff on tonight to help fill up my newly emptied (well, not EMPTY, but emptier!) DVR, so check out what I’ll be adding plus what we think you should be watching. 🙂

bones121smallAgain, I’m choosing two shows tonight because there’s no way I can choose between the two. *laugh* Last week’s double Bones episodes were great. I loved seeing Dmitry and all the other dancers plus Mary & Tyce from So You Think You Can Dance. Anytime Dmitry graces my screen, I’m happy. LOL But pair him up with Booth? I had to check myself for drool. And while neither Booth nor Bones could dance worth anything, the last bit was just perfectly sweet and romantic. Also, we saw the stuff with Angela coming to a head, like I knew it would. I loved Hodgins and Cam working together to come up with the best solution for all of them, while trying their hardest to make Angela happy. And then the second episode… That was fantastic. From the bugs falling out on Brennan’s face to the heartbreaking story of the ancient people, it kept me capitivated and intrigued.

This week’s episode will be exciting. We’ll see the return of the smartest bad guy the team has ever faced, and this time, he is turning his focus on Angela & Hodgins. We knew he had to come back… Here’s hoping he won’t screw with our team too badly!

On tonight’s episode, “The Corpse on the Canopy,” after Hodgins and Angela were drugged and woke up to a bloody corpse hanging in the canopy of their bed and flower petals around their son Michael’s crib, they are forced to believe that Pelant is back for revenge against Hodgins. Although Hodgins wants to go after Pelant directly, Booth knows it’s best to work within the system and not go against protocol. Meanwhile, as the Jeffersonian team investigates the corpse, they discover the victim was a Special Forces agent working for the world’s biggest supplier of mercenaries, and Angela and Hodgins decide to start an investigation without the rest of the Jeffersonian team for the sake of their family. Patricia Belcher, Reed Diamond, & Andrew Leeds guest star among others.
