If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/3/13

Today, my daughter headed back to school—the start of grade three! Don’t get me wrong. I adore my kids, and I love spending time with each and every one of them; that said, I was super happy when Chloe got on the bus this morning. It’s been a busy summer, and I’m looking forward to getting back into a routine. Chloe wasn’t so thrilled, but perhaps the special back-to-school dinner I’ll make for her will soften the blow when she gets home. Now that we’re back on schedule and about to jump into the fall TV schedule, let’s see what’s on tonight.

Megan’s Choice

capturesmallI came to the party a little late where Capture is involved, and I’m so sorry about that. This show is what Hunger Games would be like in my head… Well, without all that pesky killing and stuff. I’m so intrigued by the weekly challenges and seeing who is a good hunter. These teams are tougher than people seemed to originally think, but I’m still shocked weekly by their performances. If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon and started watching, you definitely should.

On tonight’s episode, “Game Change,” everyone is stunned when Game Master Luke announces a twist so big that it literally changes the outcome of the game. The hunters are blindsided by this new rule and struggle to adapt to the new conditions of the competition.

To see who gets their prey, turn in to The CW at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Extreme Weight Loss, Chopped, and Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/20/13

I haven’t been to sleep yet as I write this, so I hope it’s coherent. *laugh* Megan’s sister is visiting and JJ’s got a lot going on, so it’s just Kyle and me tonight, but really, that’s all you need. 😉

Jenny’s Choice #1

rizzoliisles820smallMy first pick tonight is Rizzoli & Isles. Before I talk about last week’s episode, in case you haven’t heard the news, Lee Thompson Young—Detective Frost on the show—was found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. That is tragic news, and I know I’ll miss him on the show. Please, if you feel like that’s your only option, talk to someone. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Last week’s episode was great. A woman was killed at a kids’ ice hockey game, and there were too many possible suspects to count, since it could’ve been almost anyone from inside where the game was being played. The story was heartbreaking, of a woman who had searched for years for her sister’s child, who she believed had been kidnapped by his father after he killed his wife and ran off after making it look like he’d died too. The sister never gave up, and in the end, she paid with her life when he saw her there and knew she’d found him. At least he was caught, although I felt horrible for his son and wife. Tonight’s episode should be a doozy. We go back to the beginning…and Charles Hoyt…

On tonight’s episode, “No One Mourns the Wicked,” when Jane and Maura are asked to present the case of serial killer Charles Hoyt at a symposium for law enforcement, Jane worries that her greatest challenge will be facing bad memories. However, as she and Maura begin a simulation of investigating Hoyt’s murders, they soon come across a horrifying discovery. In a matter of moments, the team finds themselves drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a new and terrifying serial killer.

Find out who and what they’re dealing with tonight on TNT at 9/8c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/30/13

How’s the weather where you are? I had rain off and on all day Monday, and Megan lost power Monday night. But at least for me, it was NICE and COOL. It was great weather to curl up in front of the TV and catch up on shows I was behind on. Hopefully we’ll have some great weather for that tonight, because there’s some good stuff on. We’re here to tell you what we’re planning to watch so you know what YOU should be watching. 😀

Jenny’s Choice

whoselinesmallI’m SO enjoying having Whose Line Is It Anyway? back on my TV. The guys on there are phenomenal. They blow my mind every episode with just how easy they make that stuff seem, when in reality, I’m sure it’s REALLY hard to come up with that stuff off the cuff like they do. We got fabulous news today, too. It’s been renewed for a 24-episode season 2! Woohoo! To celebrate, curl up with the two new episodes tonight. 😉

On the first episode, “Kyle Richards,” Jonathan Mangum (who I’ve interviewed and was a really nice guy!) is the guest comedian, along with guest star Kyle Richards, from The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Then on the second episode, “Synchronized Swimmers,” another really funny guy, Jeff Davis, is the guest comedian, along with guest stars Mary Killman and Mariya Koroleva, U.S. Olympic synchronized swimmers.

Laugh along with me tonight on The CW at 8/7c & again at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Got Talent, Covert Affairs, Rizzoli & Isles, & Chopped.
