If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/14/14

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to the weekend because this week has been a little insane; school functions, doctors’ appointments, and sick kids — this mom is ready for a break. What better way to start this weekend off right than to check out some great television, so check out our recommendations.

Megan’s Choice

constantine1114smallConstantine is a show that I do not watch by myself or in the dark because it is incredibly freaky in my opinion—good but freaky. The demons and spirits are quite unnerving, so I’m more than willing to DVR this and wait to watch with someone. Last week, we watched as John investigated the death of a music producer after he listened to the record Acetate, which turned out to be cursed by the sounds of the leagues of demons claiming a soul. It was some pretty creepy stuff, but in the end, Constantine did an exorcism on the record and sent the demons back to hell. We were also introduced to Papa Midnite, a voodoo priest who was out for his own personal gain and no other reason. At one point, he even cuffed John up, cut him, and left him to bleed to death. I sense that Midnite is going to be an ongoing thorn in John’s side, but I look forward to more battles like these ones.

On tonight’s episode, “A Feast of Friends,” when Constantine’s old friend Gary Lester accidentally releases a powerful demon in Atlanta, John is forced to determine exactly what he is prepared to sacrifice in his battle with the underworld.

To see how John decides what’s worth giving up, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Hollywood Film Awards, Grimm, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

If We Controlled Your Remote…10/24/14

This weekend, my daughter is having her first sleepover, and I am sure that my house will be destroyed…but as long as they don’t destroy my television, I guess I’ll be okay. Speaking of TV, let’s see what we’re recommending tonight to keep everyone entertained.

Megan’s Choice

bluebloods1011smallBlue Bloods is such a fantastic crime drama in my opinion because it not only covers the crime but really gives us character-changing moments every week. Last week, we watched Danny have to fight for his job when a suspect jumped out a third-story window to evade arrest but then claimed he was thrown out by Danny, who was up there with him. The only witness was a little Hispanic boy who was scared because his family was illegal, but the corrupt Reverend offered them nicer living conditions for their witness to say that Danny did throw the suspect out the window. In the end, we heard the true confession out of the little boy, thanks to a little help along the way by Frank. Another story line going on had to do with Jamie hitting on a beautiful doctor and Eddie being very jealous of it, despite saying she wasn’t. I’m surprised those two haven’t just had sex and gotten it out of their system yet, because the sexual chemistry is just oozing off them. One of my favorite moments was when Sergeant Gormley got called to Frank’s office and he thought he was getting fired, when in actuality he was offered a position very similar to Chief of Department, and after being unsure at first, he accepted. I love that the sergeant is a real honest man with no agenda other than being a good cop, and that makes me think he’s going to be amazing at this new position.

On tonight’s episode, “Loose Lips,” Jamie is targeted by a vengeful thug after he intervenes in his abusive relationship with his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Frank must deal with a political scandal involving insensitive comments made by Henry that were illegally recorded and leaked to the press.

To see how the Regans get themselves out of trouble this week, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Grimm, Hawaii Five-0, The Amazing Race, Shark Tank, Constantine, and Z Nation.
