If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/5/13

I usually don’t have a problem with Mondays, but yesterday was a doozy. Most of the day was good—hubby worked from home for the day, so we got to spend some extra time together—but then the day kind of turned to crap after the kiddo got home. I’m telling you, if you have a teenager, I feel for you. *sigh* Anyway, there’s some great TV on tonight, so I’m planning to relax tonight and enjoy myself. Here’s what we think you should be watching. 🙂

raisinghope25asmallLast week’s Raising Hope was too much fun. First, Sabrina & Jimmy got married (kind of…although they don’t know it, Jimmy’s wife, the serial killer, is still alive. They faked her death certificate so the pair could get married. heh), and it was cute, and sweet, and Sabrina’s speech to Jimmy at the end was too adorable. Then in the second episode, Barney’s wedding gift of an armoire turned out to be dollhouse-sized, so to make it up to them, he took the whole family (plus Sabrina’s mom’s ex-boyfriend LOL) to California to let Hope attend a taping of her favorite television show, starring Barney’s ex-wife’s child. While at the studio, the little girl in the show refused to do her line of blowing a raspberry, and when Hope did it from the audience, the producer pulled her in and replaced the other little girl. Hope was adorable, as was the very end, when Burt was confused about it being over already and then even more confused when he was told it was a “To Be Continued.” That was too funny.

raisinghope25bsmallTonight is another two episodes of this great show. It’s the continuation of the honeymoon episode plus another ep that sounds like it’ll be very funny. I’m very much looking forward to them. 😀

On tonight’s first episode, “Yo Zappa Do, Part 2,” when Hope is recruited as an actress on “Yo Zappa Do,” Jimmy signs on as an extra to help her through her scenes. But the show’s star Trevor (guest star Camden Garcia) is making his life miserable on set. Meanwhile Burt tries to pitch a new landscaping design to the studio chief (guest star Brian Doyle-Murray, Yes, Dear & Caddyshack), and Maw Maw settles an old debt with her late ex-husband.

Then on tonight’s second episode, “Sex, Clown and Videotape,” when Burt and Virginia discover that their storage locker is up for auction, they also realize they have misplaced a personal and incriminating home video that has fallen into the hands of another couple (guest stars Mike O’Malley, Yes, Dear & Glee, and Liza Snyder, Yes, Dear). Meanwhile, Sabrina tries to get to the bottom of Jimmy’s epic sleepwalking habit.

See both episodes tonight on FOX at 8/7c & 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Raising Hope @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Betty White’s Second Annual 90th Birthday Special, NCIS, The Taste, NCIS: LA, The Bachelor, Chopped, Cougar Town, Justified, & Total Blackout.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/16/12

It’s a bit of a slower night tonight because of the political debate. I’ll be SO glad when November has come and gone. I’m so tired of politics and all the crap that goes with it—especially all the ads on TV and making me miss shows! *grump* Even so, there’s some great stuff on tonight (including the return of Covert Affairs, which is reaching high points in drama!), so check out what we think you should be watching, and be sure to let us know if you’re going to take our genius advice. 😉

I’m particularly excited about tonight’s season premiere of Flashpoint on ION. It started airing a few weeks ago in Canada (lucky Megan!), but for the US viewers, tonight’s our first chance to get a look at the team after last season’s tense finale. Poor Parker has been put through the wringer emotionally. Team One’s leader was having problems in his personal life, but he’s finally begun mending fences with his teenage son. The relationship between Sam and Jules was discovered, and we thought they might be told they had to split—either personally or professionally—but at the end of the finale, Parker gave them the news that they were able to stay together and stay on Team One, which is awesome. Ed is still working on the team, and things with his wife are better than they were. The finale left off with the team and their families at the annual team picnic, where everything was great. Even Wordy was there. I hope that doesn’t mean bad things are headed our way for season five… Eek!

On tonight’s premiere, “A Broken Peace,” with help from the fugitive’s daughter, Team One searches the city in pursuit of James Mitchell, an armed and extremely volatile man who is hunting his ex-wife. Ed is forced to take a tragic shot that he was not prepared to take.

Don’t miss the pulse-pounding action tonight on ION at 11/10c. Learn where to find episodes online of Flashpoint @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Raising Hope, Dancing with the Stars, Ben and Kate, 19 Kids & Counting, Chopped, Covert Affairs, Chef Race: U.K. vs U.S., & Sons of Anarchy.

Trailers for New Fall Shows on The CW & Our Thoughts

You saw all the trailers and our thoughts on the new shows for ABC, NBC, FOX, & CBS. Now check out the same for the new CW shows!

Link to Arrow on The CW.

Jenny’s Thoughts: First, HOT. The lead is smoking in this one. But besides that, the show looks great and I love the Green Arrow. I loved Justin Hartley as the character on Smallville, so I’m hoping Stephen Amell makes me love him, too. I like Katie Cassidy & Paul Blackthorne, too, so hopefully I’ll like the rest of the cast. I’m hopeful that this show lives up to my expectations. – Excited
Megan’s Thoughts: Another superhero show…but I’m in. I’m sure the stories will be interesting, but I’m going to go on my girl side right now and say: Stephen Amell is incredibly sexy. Will he live up to the hype? I certainly hope so, because I want to see him on my television weekly. – Excited
Kyle’s Thoughts: I don’t really know anything about the character of The Green Arrow, but I enjoyed Smallville (with one exception – but I’ll get to that later). And I’m always willing to give a new superhero show a shot. – Curious
