If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/15/12

It’s Friday, thank goodness. I can’t wait until the weekend, which starts tonight. There’s not a lot on tonight, but Kyle & I both decided we had something to share, so read on to find out what we think you should be watching tonight.

Jenny’s Choice

My recommendation tonight is the new episode of Mystery Diners on Food Network. I’ve seen shows like this before, but I kind of love this one. Basically, when a restaurant owner has a problem, they call a man named Charles Stiles, who comes in with a group of people he calls his Mystery Diners. Stiles sets up cameras throughout the restaurant, and then the Mystery Diners go in “undercover” as not only customers, but also employees. One of my favorite episodes so far was the chef who was running his own catering company out of the restaurant he worked at…using that restaurant’s food & supplies like to-go boxes! It was crazy.

The show is just too much fun to watch…just something easy breezy to watch when you want to relax and shut off your mind. If you haven’t seen it, you should definitely check it out.

On tonight’s episode, “Managing Disaster,” the owner of Amaro Italian Bistro seeks the help of Charles Stiles and the Mystery Diners because he believes his manager is acting inappropriately with the staff and picking favorites based on appearance. Mystery Diners Destiney and Sarah go undercover and interview for a new waitress position to see if the manager will hire an attractive waitress over a qualified one.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/23/12

Yesterday, it was announced that Smash was renewed for a second season, and my TV addict’s heart did a little happy dance. I have been LOVING this show, and the music has been so well done. Isn’t that great news to start the weekend off with? 🙂 Now, let’s kick our Friday night off right with some new television.

Megan’s Choice

Gordon Ramsay makes me giddy like a school girl, so I am looking forward to an all new episode of Kitchen Nightmares. It’s not just his accent (which I melt for), but also how he doesn’t tolerate stupidity. Nothing makes me more annoyed than stupidity. We haven’t had a lot of new episodes lately, so I’m planning on enjoying every minute of tonight’s episode to it’s fullest.

Tonight, Chef Ramsay heads to the City of Brotherly Love to check in on a family-owned Italian restaurant called Chiarella’s. Although the Philadelphia eatery boasts over 30 years of business, Chef Ramsay is shocked by the restaurant’s outdated menu, sloppy service, and disorganized staff.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/16/12

It’s been a week filled with great TV and chaos here in my house due to my daughter being on Spring Break from school. Yay for the weekend, and when Monday gets here, I will moonwalk my daughter out the door and back to school – okay, TRY to moonwalk. 😉 Enough about me and my excitement at sending my daughter back to school. Let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

Spartacus: Vegeance has been spectacular this season in my opinion. This cast makes me thankful for HD TV – so yummy. The dialogue on this show makes me wish I lived in these times. When someone says “thank you,” a part of me wishes they were saying “gratitude.” I want to hear a man compare me to the beauty of Venus – hopeless romantic, but true. *sigh* Then again, if lived in these times, I’d have to watch men tear each other apart over honor, love, and respect. Who am I kidding? That would be awesome.

On tonight’s episode, “Balance,” Spartacus contemplates an opportunity for revenge after the capture of an influential Roman; intrigue is at a fever pitch among Glaber and the women in his circle.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/24/11

Well, it’s Thursday, which means Megan has made her last post, as of last night’s opinion post about American Idol. It should be any time before Baby Watch 2011 is officially OVER! Meanwhile, I’m dealing with a kiddo whose horrible allergies have made his eyes so irritated, they are sore and swollen, to the point where he’s in tears and can’t keep them open. It’s either that, or pink eye. God forbid… *sigh* So we’ll see how he does before school in the morning, but he is probably going to be staying home, and then going in to the doctor to make sure it isn’t pink eye. Hope you all are doing better than we are! Everyone welcome Jamie (@NotYerAvgChick on Twitter), Lisa’s sister, who will be filling in for Megan while she’s off to have & recover from having the baby! Let’s see what the three of us think you should watch tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

My pick for tonight is the season finale of Fairly Legal on USA. This show has been fantastic from the very beginning. It’s the perfect fit with all the other shows on USA, like Psych, Burn Notice, & Covert Affairs. Sarah Shahi is great as mediator Kate Reed, and she and Michael Trucco have great chemistry as ex-spouses Kate and Justin. I’m sad tonight is the season finale, but hopefully USA renews it to at least air this summer!

Tonight, Kate tries to avoid being thrown in jail by Judge Nicastro as she attempts to mediate between two brothers looking to sue each other. She must determine a way to prevent an international incident at the Croatian Embassy, all while dealing with a possible major personal change.
