If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/5/14

Thank goodness it’s Wednesday, because that means we’re halfway through the week—and it’s been a long one, so I’m already ready for the weekend. There’s been some great TV on this week, though, so that’s a good thing. The good TV continues tonight, so check out our recommendations. 🙂

menatwork35smallLast week’s Men at Work was great. The guys tried to help Neal make contact with a woman after meeting her in a bar—and promptly letting her go after having a major flirting moment with her. They found out she was going to “Molly’s” party, but they ended up at two different parties—both of which turned out to involve molly…otherwise known as extacy. Without realizing it, the guys all ingested some drugs of one kind or another: extacy & marijuana. It was so much fun watching how out of it they were. In the end, Neal met another girl at the party, and they really hit it off. Here’s to hoping they’ll be good for a while. Neal’s too sweet to be as sad as he was.

On tonight’s episode, “Suburban Gibbs,” Jude warns Gibbs that dating a girl from the suburbs is more dangerous than it seems. Tyler and Milo’s friendship is tested when Tyler offers to cover Milo’s share of the rent. It’s a Las Vegas reunion for James Lesure, as Molly Sims is guest starring!

See why Gibbs could be in trouble tonight on TBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Melissa & Joey, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Psych, Mixology, CSI, Chicago PD, & Wahlburgers.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/4/12

You have to love a Tuesday that’s a Monday… Ok, you don’t really. lol But luckily, that means for most of us, it’s a short week, and there’s plenty on TV tonight to take your mind off the fact that it’s a Tuesday-Monday. 😉 So check out what we think you can’t miss tonight.

As much as Covert Affairs is pissing me off right now, I still can’t help but recommend it because I have GOT to have faith that it will all work out. I HATE the Annie/Simon relationship. I HATE Lena because she’s made Annie into almost a rogue agent…and someone I’m having a hard time respecting or liking at the moment. I have a feeling it’s all going to bite her in the ass at some point, and I almost want to say I hope it does. She needs a wake up call, and soon. Then we have the growing tension between Joan and Arthur, poor Auggie has been relegated to nothing but a character dealing with relationship issues and the fallout from that. I want the strong, confident Auggie that had Annie’s back and was a central part of every episode. 🙁 Still, I have a feeling the next couple of episodes are going to be GOOOOOD, so I’m crossing my fingers!

On tonight’s episode, “Glass Spider,” after it’s discovered that Jai was investigating Simon Fischer when he was killed, bringing Simon in becomes Arthur’s top priority. In the hopes of protecting Simon, Annie requests that she be allowed to bring him in herself. Sarah Clarke and Richard Coyle guest star.

See all the drama tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Covert Affairs @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hell’s Kitchen, America’s Got Talent, MasterChef, Coma, Chopped, Counting Cars, & 19 Kids & Counting.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/6/11

*taps microphone* Hello? Is anyone out there? I hope you all stuck with us! Saturday, the hard drive on the server we are hosted on died, and it took them over 48 hours to get it all back up and running. Hopefully, it’s all fixed now, though! If you notice any issues, please let me know! And if you ever can’t get to the site, you can find me on Twitter @tvismypacifier. Now, on to what we think you should be watching tonight!

My husband got me hooked on Sons of Anarchy last season. I have only seen most last season, but I’m officially hooked. I love the down and dirty feeling of the motorcycle club, which is nicknamed SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original). They are like Dexter Morgan—he’s not a good guy, really, but you can’t help but like him. As long as you stay out of SAMCRO’s way and don’t cross them or their family, they don’t go out of their way to cause mayhem for you and yours (ya know, aside from the whole gun running business… 😉 ). At the end of last season, a good majority of the key members of the club went to jail because they skipped out on a court appearance (Jax, the son of head of the club and one of the central characters, has a little baby who was kidnapped and taken to Ireland, so the club all went overseas to get him back. Like I said, don’t cross them or their family! lol), but this season, they are all back and it looks like it’ll be a great start to the new season tonight!

In tonight’s episode, “Out,” SAMCRO finally gets the release from prison that it has been waiting for in order to be reunited with its family on the outside, but several changes to the ouside world promise to make the transfer a difficult challenge.

See the 90-minute season premiere tonight at 10/9c on FX! Learn where to find episodes online of Sons of Anarchy @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/16/11

It’s here, it’s here! School has officially begun for my family. What that means for me is my schedule may get flipped and stay flipped for a while. haha During the school year, I tend to be awake at night, and then go to sleep after my kid leaves for school, waking up just before he gets home late in the afternoon (like at 4:15…). Fun stuff! Why I sleep better during the day, I couldn’t tell you. I just know I usually do! Anyway, that leaves me a lot of time at night to work, write, beta—and catch up on great TV, which is important, since we’re coming up on the new Fall season! Eek! But for tonight, there’s some great things on, so check out what we think you should be watching!

My pick tonight is the season finale of Memphis Beat. Last week’s episode was so great. I loved seeing Dwight and Whitehead away from the precinct. The case they ended up working on reminded me of Clue, where the murderer was someone IN THE HOUSE! lol I dunno, I just really enjoyed it. But honestly, the best part of the episode was seeing Lt. Rice, Sutton, and Greenback working together to figure out who the guy was in the drunk tank and how he got there, since he seemed a little… out of it and unable to remember anything. It was heartbreaking when he remembered little snatches of information, and so heartwarming at the end when his sister—who they finally figured out who she was and somehow were able to get in touch with her—came to pick him up. It turned out that he was a bi-polar schizophrenic and had been missing from wherever he was living for five days. The other great part about last week was the inclusion of Paula Ann, Dwight’s mother. She ended up braving the storm to bring Dwight and his co-workers some sandwiches and stayed when the storm was too bad to go back out into. She fixed the generator on her own, got Joe/Ronnie the “prisoner” to remember the first thing, and just as she always does when she’s on screen, made me laugh, shake my head, and wish my mom were more like she is.

Tonight is the season finale and there’s no word yet on renewal. I have my fingers crossed. It would be a crying shame if this show got canceled! It’s not perfect (then again, what on TV nowadays is?!), but I adore it.

On tonight’s episode, when a girl from one of two feuding families is found shot, Dwight must do everything he can to make sure no more blood is shed. Back at the station, Dwight has trouble separating his love life from his job, when Davey and Greenback discover he has a new girlfriend and make it their personal mission to include her in an upcoming birthday party. Amy Madigan (Fringe, Grey’s Anatomy, Carnivale) & Lance Henriksen guest star.

See the season finale tonight on TNT at 9/8c! Learn where to find episodes online of Memphis Beat @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/26/11

I’m still trying to recover from this past weekend’s non-stop Comic-Con adventure, tackling the 30+ TV show backlog that has accumulated on my TiVo since last Tuesday. I had a great time meeting and hanging out with fellow contributor Megan and her sister at the NBC Comic-Con party last Saturday, where it was so exciting to see many of the stars of Chuck, Community and Grimm walking among us “common folk”. – Kyle

In addition to the usual Fox and USA lineups, I am also looking forward to Flipping Out on Bravo. This series is always a fun break from the scripted comedies and dramas and food competition shows I normally watch. Jeff Lewis is always hilarious and sarcastic, demanding the impossible from his employees. I often wonder what kind of counseling these people must go through after all the years of working with Jeff!

On tonight’s episode, “What Stays in Vegas,” Jeff throws Sarah a bachelorette party in Vegas and Zoila gets her face lift.
