A few weeks ago, Lethal Weapon gave us their Christmas episode before going on a short break. They’re back tonight, but allegedly Damon Wayans’s days on the program are numbered. For now at least, he’s still playing the TV version of Captain Murtaugh based on the blockbuster film series. Last time we started with a flashback to Cole’s childhood and how tough he had it being the son of a single mom who was a war zone photographer. Fast forward to the present, and we saw that he was trying to make up for the absentee parent he’d been by making this Christmas with his daughter count.

Cole saw one of his friends, Oscar, who was an ex-con, meeting with a shady guy. This happened while the two old pals were on a meetup so their kids Sam & Maya could hang out. Murtaugh’s son was on his way back from Costa Rica, and he called from the airport. Roger began to plan a welcome home party. That night, a burglary went explosively wrong, and one robber was shot by the wife. The next morning, Cole & Roger were on the scene, and they discovered the dead thief was the man Cole saw Oscar talking with. Oscar wound up getting arrested, but not before he drove his car through the wall of Cole’s motel room. In the meantime, the female cop pairing of Bailey and Louisa got placed on a chopped-up jogger case, and Capt. Brooks was a bit bummed because his husband went to see family in Wyoming without him.

Oscar swore he was innocent, and Cole believed him. The kids saw a third guy talking to Oscar and the dead guy, and they drew a sketch that looked like Santa with a birthmark. Cole followed up on the lead and recruited Murtaugh into helping him investigate the scene. They entered the house through the chimney (ho, ho, ho!), but Murtaugh got stuck. Cole wound up fighting 3 criminals at once, including a rad chainsaw fight sequence. The crooks got away with a frozen thumb, but not before Cole saw what it was they needed from the house.

While the welcome home party was occurring, Roger discovered that his son missed his flight and he got upset at him. The next day, the two cases converged when the jogger was ID’d as a bank security guard missing a thumb. They rushed to the scene of the crime in motion, and there was a Christmas parade crowding the streets outside. The guys pulling the heist ran into the crowds dressed as two Santas, but the good guys soon chased them down and saved the day. Oscar was released from jail, and Cole bought Brooks a ticket to Wyoming. Merry Christmas!!

Now, regarding the future of this show? It look highly canceled after this season. It is all but formal. Even though they have a strong cast that could support a cop comedy show without Damon Wayans, there is just no Lethal Weapon without either Riggs or Murtaugh. So looking forward to seeing them end it strong at least.

On tonight’s episode, “There Will Be Bud,” Cole finds himself on the rebound after Natalie’s engagement, and his new romantic interest, Julie (guest star Haley Strode), has an unexpected connection to A.D.A. Erica (guest star Nishi Munshi), complicating things at work. Meanwhile, Murtaugh worries about the connection between the murder he’s investigating and a new opportunity for Trish to serve as co-counsel on a high-profile lawsuit with Leo Getz (guest star Thomas Lennon).

To see how Cole rebounds and how Trish’s lawsuit goes, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching The Gifted.

I’ve been pretty captivated the last few months by the new team on Lethal Weapon, which teams up Seann William Scott with Damon Wayans as two unorthodox LAPD detectives, even without having seen the first two seasons. Admittedly, I am obsessed with everything Scott’s done post-Stiffler, but the show does get on, on its own merits.

The last new episode opened with Cole (Scott) MIA, having flaked on his daughter. When she called Murtaugh to look for him, he recommended his daughter Rianna to babysit. Murtaugh was next at the scene of an abduction. He concluded that Cole was abducted by the Vasquez cartel. At the cartel torture house, they pulled out a few of Cole’s fingernails before Sofia Vasquez revealed herself to him. She had him buried alive rather than shooting him. Murtaugh confronted Cole’s CIA handler, Tom Barnes, who insisted he didn’t betray Cole. He “put his best man on the job” and expected him to take out Vasquez.

Throughout the episode, we saw Cole and his baby mama, Natalie, in their first meetings overseas. He was undercover as a photographer and she was a nurse. They fell in love and she got preggers. Back in the present, other former undercover agent, “The Gute” got them a lead that put them on Cole’s trail, but all they found was his bloody discarded fingernails. Murtaugh again confronted Barnes, who recommended they flip former cartel lieutenant Benny Aliva, whom LAPD had in holding. In flashbacks, we saw that Natalie became pregnant while still stationed overseas.

Murtaugh tracked down Cole with Aliva’s help and dug him up before he died. While recovering in the hospital, Cole got immersed in the memory of talking to Natalie about plans for a honeymoon in Bali. Later that night, Cole KO’d Murtaugh and locked him in Mrs. Murtaugh’s trunk so he could go confront Vasquez on his own. Murtaugh woke up to his daughter stealing the car to go out with her bf. When the boyfriend turned creeper, Roger emerged and took the car back. Cole saved Sofia Vasquez from the hit team Aliva was leading against her, with a last-minute assist from Murtaugh. In the final scene, Cole professed his love for Natalie was undying and she kissed him but was very conflicted about the timing.

On tonight’s episode, “What the Puck,” Cole wants to talk to Natalie about their relationship before it’s too late, but a wrench is thrown in his plans after he bumps into a new ADA, Erica (guest star Nishi Munshi). Meanwhile, after being kicked out of the house for Trish’s girl’s night, Murtaugh finds himself an unlikely friend.

See if Cole makes a decision about Natalie tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

We have reached the part of the year when our favorite shows go on hiatus for the holiday season, and tonight is the fall finale for 9-1-1. I can’t describe just how much I love this show and what an amazing job the writers have done casting it.

On the last new episode, we got to learn a lot about Hen and how she started off at the fire department. It was heartbreaking to watch how she was treated when she first started – the racism, sexism, and judgement. Her captain was verbally abusive, and yet she fought hard to be an extraordinary firefighter. Chimney was there for her, and eventually the powers that be stepped in and fired her captain. It was a beautiful episode, and I loved how it was focused on Hen only so we could learn more about her. Hopefully they do similar episodes for other characters eventually as well.

On tonight’s episode, “Merry Ex-Mas,” the holidays are naughty and nice for the first responders, who must deal with a stampede at a toy store, a mistletoe stunt gone awry, and neighbors competing in a Christmas-light showdown. Meanwhile, Bobby contemplates his future with Athena, Chimney and Buck attempt to lift Maddie’s spirits, and Eddie must decide if he wants to give his son what he really wants for Christmas: a visit with his mom.

To see how Chimney and Buck help Maddie, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, The Resident, Bull, Manifest, Holiday Baking Championship, and The Good Doctor.

Tonight, MasterChef Junior gives us a Thanksgiving special featuring celebrity guests, their kids, and some fan favorite alumni to compete in the kitchen to show off their cooking skills. Empire’s Terrence Howard and MasterChef Junior Season Six finalist Avery battle Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet and MasterChef Junior Season Five contestant Shayne; Alyson Hannigan and her daughter, Saty, face Rel’s Lil Rel Howery and daughter, Brittni; NFL legends Emmitt Smith and MasterChef Junior Season Six winner Beni take on Jerry Rice and Season Four winner Addison, with all competing in head-to-head contests for charity.

These shows are always fun, and Gordon Ramsay is a lot more relaxed on the kids’ version than the adults’. And the celebs this time are great – I especially am looking forward to seeing Eric Stonestreet and Alyson Hannigan, but both football players, Emmitt and Jerry, should be entertaining as well.

Take a break from cooking to watch…cooking tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’m also going to be watching Beat Bobby Flay.

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are geniuses, and the show 9-1-1 is another prime example of what can be produced and created in the hands of this creative team. The characters are funny, yet they still manage to be deep and relatable. Buck is one of the most relatable characters right now because he’s working on getting back into the dating scene without sleeping with whatever girls throw themselves at him. The funny thing is now that he’s developed a conscience, he is more aware of when someone is using him for sex…which his reporter lady friend is definitely doing. Watching Buck realize that his old moves are being used on him was hilarious, but in the end I hope Buck can find real love again because he deserves it.

Elsewhere, Chimney and Maddie realized they are moving along into a relationship without actually labeling it. I completely support this and think they need to move forward with the relationship fully. I’m just waiting for Buck and Chimney to have to save Maddie when her ex-husband shows up, because we all know no one can escape their past on this show.

On tonight’s episode, “Hen Begins,” Hen relives her evolution into the firefighter she is today as she recalls the first times she met Chimney and Athena.

To take this stroll down memory lane, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Resident, The Voice, The Good Doctor, Magnum PI, The Neighborhood, Happy Together, Holiday Baking Championship, Arrow, and Manifest.
