If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/18/13

Thank God it’s finally Friday—I am more than ready for this weekend. I have been under the weather with a throat infection and am looking forward to a weekend filled with playing TV catch up and drinking tea. Let’s see what’s on tonight to get our weekends started right.

csiny118smallCSI: NY continues to be my favorite of the franchise; the original has become boring, but the NY team never fails to keep my attention. I hopeful that Mac will finally manage to overcome his memory loss from the shooting, but more importantly that he’ll start leaning on people more. Lindsay and Danny remain my favorite couple on the show, and I love how well they give each other space to grow, yet are always there when it counts. Finally, we have the intricate writing that makes me sit on the edge of my seat week after week. Overall, if you haven’t been giving this show a chance, smarten up and watch.

On tonight’s episode, “Nine Thirteen,” the team investigates when a masked man is found at the bottom of a skyscraper with a history of suspicious deaths.

To see if there’s any connection between all the crimes, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI: NY @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods and Fringe.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/11/13

TGIF! It’s been kind of a long week, so I’m excited for the weekend. 🙂 And tonight’s new TV is a great way to usher in the relaxation of the weekend, so check out what we think you should be watching. 🙂

csiny111smallI love CSI: NY because I just really love the characters. The cases are good, too, but the characters are what keep me tied to the show more than anything. Last week, when Jo figured out that the angel sending a million dollars to seemingly random people around the city was actually Sid, it wasn’t too huge a surprise for me. I figured it out pretty quickly after Jo started looking into it. But Sid’s announcement to her that he had cancer was incredibly sad and kind of shocking. And I loved Flack and Lovato on their date and finally kissing! That was great. 😀

On tonight’s episode, “Civilized Lies,” when a beloved off-duty NYPD officer perishes in a robbery, the CSIs use the art of interrogation to break down their suspects and get to the truth.

See how the New York CSIs get to the truth tonight on CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI: NY @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Last Man Standing, Malibu Country, Fringe, Blue Bloods, & Mystery Diners.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/14/12

In 11 days, we will be crowded around a Christmas tree, exchanging gifts and Christmas cheer… Wait, only 11 days?!?! Where did the time go? At the end of the day, it’s not about the presents but about spending time with the ones we love, and what better way to do that than to curl up and watch some television on a Friday night? Let’s see what you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

kitchennightmaressmallI don’t know why, but I never get sick of Kitchen Nightmares. I’m sure it’s because Gordon Ramsay continually amuses me, but it could also be that I never tire of seeing how silly these people are. Although I have to say, the more I watch this show, the less I enjoy eating in restaurants, because I’m always worried that the kitchen isn’t clean or they use old food. What can I say? I’m a product of my television watching. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Revisted No.1,” Chef Ramsay heads back to Cafe Hon, Chierello, & Leones to see if the owners kept up the changes that were made.

To see if any of the owners kept up their end of the bargain, tune into FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Kitchen Nightmares @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Take It All, Malibu Country, and Say Yes to the Dress.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/7/12

It’s been a long week for a lot of people, so I say for everyone: Thank God it’s Friday! I’m actually running on fumes, so I’m going to turn it over to Kyle & Megan. (but if I had to choose something, I’d be recommending Nikita. 😉 Now, let’s see what the other two have to say. —Jenny

Fringe has been off for a few weeks, but tonight, it returns as we head down the final stretch of the series. Last time, we saw Peter becoming more and more like the observers—from his stoic demeanor to his “logical” deductions. With Peter’s new abilities, we also got to see how the observers view the world and see things before they happen. At the end of the episode, Peter told a horrified Olivia about how he had murdered some of the observers and had inserted the observer tech into his own head.

Will Peter be able to retain his humanity, or will he become a full-fledged emotionless being bent on revenge? Is there any hope of a happy ending for Peter and Olivia? Will the gang ever free all of these videotapes from the amber and put Walter’s plan into action? And will Astrid finally get something else to do besides just sitting in the lab and introducing the video tape of the week?!

On tonight’s episode, “The Human Kind,” Peter’s observation of Windmark puts him in grave danger; Olivia goes on a mission to find equipment for Walter and meets a woman with remarkable intuition.

See how far Peter goes tonight on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Fringe @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Haven, Hunted, Undercover Boss, and Kitchen Nightmares.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/16/12

Happy Friday! Less than a week away from Thanksgiving, so things are getting a little hectic—at least in my house! 🙂 Because of the holiday and because of how hard these guys work to provide help for me and their outstanding opinions for you, I’m giving us all a week off from the Remote posts next week. Don’t worry, even though lots of shows will be off next week, I’ll still put up the schedules, but we’ll be back on Sunday, November 25, for the next Remote post. Until then, enjoy. 😉

Thankfully, Mac on CSI: NY is beginning to come around—at least, he apologized to Jo for treating her like he did, and he made up with Christine, even admitting to her what problems he’s been having and he said I love you to her for the first time. It’s so great to see him in a relationship. I wanted him with Melina Kanakaredes’ character, Stella, and then with Sela Wards’ Jo Danville. But I think that’s just because I always love seeing the main characters on my shows get together. LOL But I quickly grew to like Christine, and I like how they are together. He’s truly happy in a relationship for the first time since his wife died on 9/11, and I think that’s great. Now if he can get better so he doesn’t have to leave the job (and the show), I would love that.

The last episode was really, really good. One of my favorites in a while, actually, for several reasons. One, it was based on the board game Clue. A young man off his meds was re-enacting the game using real people, real weapons, and real places. Sick, but kind of awesome. (Not in a way that I’d want to see in real life, of course. But as a premise for a murder on the television, it was fun to watch.) And then when Lindsay put her face up to a microscope and got rings around her eyes (they looked like black eyes. lol), she went all “CSI” on the thing. Eventually, Danny admitted to having been the one to do it, but said it was aimed at Adam, not her. She forgave him, even finding it amusing, and I just loved seeing the Danny/Lindsay banter. I’ve loved them as a couple since before they got married, so moments like that are always cute.

On tonight’s episode, “Late Admissions,” the CSI team gets involved in the high-pressure world of an elite prep school when a student is found murdered while studying for the SATs. Lindsay makes a trip back home to Montana to visit her father and deal with some past issues. James Read (Charmed) guest stars as Lindsay’s father, Robert Monroe. Mark Moses (Desperate Housewives, Mad Men) guest stars as teacher Blake Connors.

See what Lindsay has to deal with while the team is dealing with rich, entitled high schoolers on CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI: NY @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Last Man Standing, Malibu Country, Fringe, Grimm, Mystery Diners, Health Inspectors, & Hunted.
