greysanatomy421smallLately after watching Grey’s Anatomy, I am left in an emotional heap from the whirlwind that has taken place on the show. Last week was a double episode with an endless amount of turmoil and upheaval, especially with Ben and Bailey.

Ben performed an emergency surgery on a pregnant woman in the hallway of the hospital after getting locked out of the elevator. He ended up losing both the baby and the mom. What he did was considered incredibly against policy, and it ended with Bailey being disappointed in him. She was torn between it being her husband and her being the chief and needing to show no favoritism – so in the end she suspended him for 6 months and told him he was lucky to still have his job. Ben was less than pleased with this, and when the episode ended, we were left wondering what would happen next.

Elsewhere, April and Jackson were still having issues, especially after April had sent the restraining order. The good news is that after looking through the old prenuptial agreement, Jackson realized that he didn’t want to fight. He wanted to be the best friends they were before. When Jackson gave this speech to April, she agreed and let him feel the baby kicking. It was an amazing sweet moment.

On tonight’s episode, “Trigger Happy,” the doctors work frantically to save a young boy who was accidentally shot. Meanwhile, Arizona is upset when Callie tries to make an important decision about Sophia’s future without consulting her. Wilmer Valderrama guest stars.

Find out if Arizona and Callie can figure this all out for Sophia’s sake tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Scandal, and The Catch.

Sarah Manning (TATIANA MASLANY)Tonight, Orphan Black returns for a fourth season on BBC America, on a brand new night. Last season we were introduced to the male Castor clones, who were bred more as soldiers. As the third season came to a close, Dr. Coady had sent Rudy to find Alison, but he ran into Helena and the two had a prison yard-style brawl that ended with Rudy’s death. Mark tried to impersonate Rudy, but Sarah found him and got him to reveal Dr. Coady’s plan. Meanwhile, Krystal was impersonating Rachel, and this led Delphine to uncover the Neolutionist conspiracy – which in turn led to her bleeding out in a parking garage at the end of the season. The real Rachel once again had two eyes and now a sort-of-adopted child in the young Leda clone, Charlotte. Elsewhere, Sarah was reunited with daughter Kira; a pregnant Helena had been helping out with the Hendrixes’ not-so-legal soap business, and as a thanks, Donnie and Alison reunited her with boyfriend Jesse; Cosmina contemplated telling Shay everything; and Alison won the election.

There are so many different clones and conspiracies to keep track of with this show, but it always finds a nice blend of comedy, drama, suspense, and unexpected twists. Tatiana Maslany is so brilliant that I always forget that so many of these characters are played by the same actress – they all have such unique personalities, and the scenes in which they interact look so convincing and real.

On tonight’s premiere “The Collapse of Nature,” a Neolution attack destroys Sarah’s refuge in Iceland and forces her to flee once again.

See where Sarah runs to tonight on BBC America at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Odd Couple, Rush Hour, Grey’s Anatomy, The Catch, The Blacklist, Game of Silence, Bones, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The 100, Archer, and 60 Days In.

theoddcouple47smallTonight, CBS’s updated version of The Odd Couple returns for its second season. When we last left off, Oscar was being audited by the IRS, but since he and ex-wife Gabby had filed jointly that year, it meant that they actually needed to talk to one another. And in typical sitcom fashion, bickering between the former couple led to a rekindling of feelings and sex. However, by the end of the episode, the two decided they were better off just friends. On the flip side, Felix and Emily also ended up in bed but decided it was time to pursue their relationship – much to Dani’s delight.

While I’m not generally a fan of remakes, this series won me over by the end of the first season. It wasn’t one that I rushed to watch each week, but whenever I did get around to watching it off the DVR, I always found it fun. How could you not enjoy this hilarious cast – Matthew Perry, Thomas Lennon, Wendell Pierce, Lindsay Sloane, and Yvette Nicole Brown? I’m looking forward to seeing how Felix and Emily’s relationship evolves this season, though I’ll kind of miss the will they/won’t they from last season. And I hope we get even more Dani this year, because she’s my favorite of the characters.

On tonight’s premiere, “All About Eavesdropping,” Oscar and Felix start obsessively eavesdropping on their bickering neighbors. But being nice guys, they decide to help save the couple’s marriage. Meanwhile, Emily and Dani’s friendship is tested when they train together for a race to the top of the Empire State Building.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, Rush Hour, Grey’s Anatomy, The Catch, The Blacklist, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The 100, Archer, and 60 Days In.

rushhour331smallNot all movies translate well into TV shows, but they keep putting them out. One such new show is tonight’s premiere of Rush Hour, starring Justin Hires (TripTank, Key and Peele) as maverick Detective Carter of the LAPD and Jon Foo as by-the-book Detective Lee from Hong Kong. In the movie, Det. Lee comes to the US to search for a missing young girl. In the show, he comes over to avenge his sister’s alleged death and learn more about her connection to a Chinese organized crime ring. Just like in the movie, Carter is a wisecracking cop who plays by his own rules and Lee is a reserved, honorable master martial artist with lightning-fast moves. Joining them is Wendie Malick (Hot in Cleveland, Just Shoot Me), who plays Carter’s boss, Captain Cole; Aimee Garcia (Dexter, Vegas, Trauma), who plays Sergeant “Didi” Diaz, Carter’s friend & former partner; and Page Kennedy (Backstrom, Weeds), a low-level offender who runs with a tough crowd but is an informant for Carter…and his cousin.

I’ve seen tonight’s premiere, and I really enjoyed it. It’s not perfect, but I like the characters and their chemistry, and I like the story line that we learn in the first episode. The action is fun too, just like the movie. If you enjoy this type of show, you should definitely give it a shot!

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” cultures clash and tempers flare when Detective Lee, a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police detective, is paired with maverick LAPD Detective Carter in Los Angeles to investigate the theft of Chinese artifacts.

Meet Detectives Lee and Carter tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Man vs Child: Chef Showdown, Cooks vs Cons, 2 Broke Girls, & Beat Bobby Flay.

thecatchsmallTonight, ABC adds another Shondaland series to its Thursday-night lineup: The Catch. Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos, The Killing) runs one of LA’s top private investigation firms, with extremely rich and powerful clients. However, things get personal when her fiancé Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause, Parenthood, Six Feet Under) cons her out of millions. She begins a thrilling cat-and-mouse game of payback and revenge, with the assistance of her partner Valerie Anderson (Rose Rollins, Bosch), resourceful PI Danny Yoon (Jay Hayden, Battleground), and newest/youngest member of the firm, hacker/in-house counsel Sophie Novak (Elvy Yost, Oldboy). Meanwhile, FBI Agent Jules Dao (Jacky Ido, Inglorious Basterds) is also after Jones and his team – mastermind Margot Bishop (Sonya Walger, Parenthood) and partner-in-crime Reginald Lennox III (Alimi Ballard, CSI).

I enjoyed tonight’s premiere way more than I expected to. It has a very slick, fast-paced style, with lots of split-screen action and makes great use of music. While Shonda Rhimes is an executive producer, I’m not sure how involved she is in the actual show – it didn’t feel like a typical Shondaland show in the writing. In either case, I’m looking forward to checking out more of this fun thriller, seeing how it plays out from week to week and if they can keep up the same kind of caper fun and excitement.

On tonight’s premiere, “The Pilot,” Alice is conned out of millions by her fiancé and begins her mission to get payback in the series premiere of this drama about a top-notch private investigator who experiences life from her clients’ perspectives when she becomes the victim of fraud.

See how Alice gets conned tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, You, Me and the Apocalypse, Recipe for Deception, and 60 Days In.
