If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/13/13

I always love Wednesday because it means we’re at the halfway point of the week. Plus, there’s always great stuff on, and tonight is no exception. So check out what we think you should be watching. 🙂

hotincleveland213smallI’m kind of sad because tonight is the winter finale of Hot in Cleveland and the season finale of Happily Divorced. This season has been great for both shows. The ladies in Cleveland have been going through changes in their personal lives, and it’s been fun to watch. And Fran has been dealing with her new fiance being overseas for work while fighting her atrraction to her sexy neighbor. I have a feeling at last the relationships on Happily Divorced will be changing on tonight’s episode, but I guess we’ll see!

happilydivorced213smallOn tonight’s episode of Hot in Cleveland, “What Now, My Love?” Elka tries to impress her boyfriend Pierre’s grandson by helping him with his “Flat Stanley” project. Meanwhile, Victoria questions whether her relationship with Emmett is over now that her movie is done filming. Melanie wonders where her relationship with Alec is going. Joy uncovers something mysterious about Elka during her new internship.

Then on Happily Divorced, “For Better or For Worse,” Fran follows up a startling encounter with her neighbor with an unannounced trip to London to visit her fiancé, Elliot, but she’s the one who’s in for a surprise. Joan Collins, Colin Ferguson, Harry Van Gorkum, and D.W. Moffett guest star.

Don’t miss the fun tonight on TV Land at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hot in Cleveland & Happily Divorced @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guys with Kids, The Neighbors, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, The Americans, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, Chicago Fire, CSI, & Top Chef.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/28/12

What a long week it’s been already! Anyone who says that unpacking is easier than packing hasn’t attempted to do with two young children running around. To help me take my mind off stress of unpacking, let’s see what’s on TV to unwind to.

Criminal Minds is one of those rare shows that keeps me happy from beginning to end but also makes my mind work constantly, as well. I hope we revisit the whole Reid being in love situation again soon because that’s one relationship road I’m interested in seeing unfold. The cases this season have been quick moving and interesting, so I’m happy the writing seems to be back to it’s early season brilliance.

On tonight’s episode, “Magnificent Light,” a popular motivational speaker becomes the prime suspect in a murder, when an attendee at one of his conferences is killed. Garcia is confused when Morgan doesn’t want to attend a dinner honoring a family friend.

To see what’s happening with Morgan, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching The X Factor, Suburgatory, CSI, and Arrow.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/6/12

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday. While Sunday was a busy TV night, I’m really enjoying this lighter time for TV. I’ve been able to catch up on a lot of the shows that were backed up on my TiVo, and I was even able to catch up on some TV-on-DVD and movies! Tonight is another pretty light night, but there’s a couple shows starting back up for the summer, so read on to find out what we’re recommending you check out.

Tonight, Royal Pains returns for its fourth season. When we last visited the Hamptons, Hank was mourning the death of his friend Jack, and Evan and Paige said their goodbyes as she prepared to head to England. Meanwhile, Boris’s cousin Claudette presented a business plan to HankMed for introducing new medical technologies to the US. When Hank and Evan differed in opinions on incorporating this into HankMed, Evan sad that due to his ownership of Divya’s shares, he had the final say – which caused Hank to quit and Evan to look to Dr. Paul Van Dyke as a replacement.

Is this the end of HankMed? I highly doubt it. I suspect things will be back to normal in no time. It just wouldn’t be summer without a trip to the Hamptons with Royal Pains! I’m looking forward to another season of fun and interesting cases and more Lawson family drama.

In tonight’s episode, “After the Fireworks,” Hank and Divya treat food-festival patrons, including a competitive eater and Jill’s brother, an amateur competitor. Evan, meanwhile, prepares to run his own business, while Jill wraps up her job at Hamptons Heritage.

Relax and enjoy the sun in the Hamptons tonight on USA at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Royal Pains @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Melissa & Joey and Around the World in 80 Plates.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/16/12

Only 3 season finales tonight! *gasp* Compared to other nights this week with 8 in one night, 3 is easy peasy lemon squeezy, is it not? lol Still some great episodes on, though, so check out what we think you should be watching. 🙂

Last week’s Law & Order: SVU was really quite sad. It started off with Finn’s son meeting Munch for dinner or drinks, along with his fiance. Shortly after leaving the restaurant, the fiance was kidnapped off the street and severly beaten as part of a gang initiation or something. That story then just got lost (yes, they got the guys that did it, but did the fiance ever wake up after surgery? How did the talk with Finn & the other man’s father go? SO much was just left hanging in my opinion) in what turned out to be the main story: another man was kidnapped off the street and beaten, but that turned out to be because he’d been accused of sexually molesting a high school student he taught. In the end, we found out it was really the seemingly-sweet, pretty, young teacher, although blame was shifted from the man to another really mentally fragile/crazy teacher, finally ending with the boy killing the real teacher who he’d been in some sort of sexual relationship with. It was really convoluted and sad, both for the male teacher who was beat up and blamed and for the kid. But the fact that the gay beating story line with Finn, his son Ken, & Ken’s fiance was shoved to the back burner just irritated me. Regardless, the previews for tonight’s episode looked CRAZY, which is why it’s getting my top pick tonight.

On tonight’s episode, “Strange Beauty,” while off-duty, Detective Rollins spots a young woman screaming in the back of a moving taxi. The SVU squad quickly identifies the victim as a rebellious teenager, estranged from her family and experimenting in the world of tattoos and self-mutilation. The case takes an unexpected turn when the Medical Examiner presents the detectives with a cleanly severed leg, reminiscent of a similar finding in an old unsolved case. The detectives are drawn into the psychological elements of self-mutilation and ritual amputation as they investigate two brothers (guest stars David Eigenberg and Patrick Fischler) in order to link the cases and find the missing woman.

Don’t miss it tonight on NBC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Law & Order: SVU @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/2/12

It’s hump day! Whether you take that literally (& if so, have fun & congrats! lol) or figuratively, we’re mid-way through a great week of television. It does mean we’re that much closer to the end of the season for all our favorite Fall/Spring shows, though, which is sad. 🙁 Ah well. That also means the summer season starts soon! For tonight, read on to find out what we think you should be watching!

I have really fallen in love with Law & Order: SVU again this season. The addition of Kelli Rollins & Danny Pino has been great, and I may be in the minority, but I’m so glad Stabler is gone. He was…unstable (*laugh*) a good majority of the time at the end. It’s nice having Benson back to being in every episode, too. I am sad that Olivia & the ADA broke up. I wasn’t surprised, really, because that’s a hard relationship to have, when he’s a lawyer she has to interact with a lot on the job, but still…

On the last episode, there was a rapist running loose, and the neighborhood was up in arms that the police were unable to catch him. When a woman was being attacked, a vigilante in superhero costume stepped in, beat him up, and chased him off. They were able to trace that attempted rapist back to a teenage, Asian, Jehovah Witness. After arresting him and questioning him, they realized he was a copy-cat, not the man who had already raped five women. (Just a quick question… Who in their right mind wants to copy-cat a rapist?? Sick, sick bastard, I’ll tell you.) They finally caught the bad guy, but only after the attempted rapist teenager was beaten & strung up by the vigilante group calling themselves the JLNY (Justice League New York), who they themselves were attacked. And Amaro watched his wife (who he’s suspected is having an affair) have lunch with a guy, and then turned around the next day and confronted him, punching him and telling him to stay away from his wife. Of course, then his wife stormed into the precint, screaming at him. She told him she isn’t having an affair, that she is seeing a shrink, and the guy she had lunch with is just her friend, that she can talk to him, because she can’t talk to her husband. It was a crazy, crazy episode.

On tonight’s episode, “Father Dearest,” Detectives Benson and Amaro investigate the disappearance of a teenaged girl after her young brother calls 9-1-1. While Fin and Rollins look into a possible abduction, they discover the girl had been searching for her biological father, an anonymous sperm donor. The investigation takes a startling turn when a suspect is found to be targeting several young, vulnerable women, all with the same personal connection. But the suspect isn’t what he seems, and Dr. Huang must delve into his past to save the women. Eric Close (Without a Trace & Chaos) and James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek & Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23) guest star!
