If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/3/13

As I am writing this, I am listening to P!NK’s most recent album, and I have to say, it’s pretty fierce. It’s true that television is my favorite media, but music is a close second. In TV land, our favorite shows are getting ready to hibernate for the summer, but at least a few are still around tonight to amuse us. Let’s check it out.

Megan’s Choice #1

bluebloods53smallBlue Bloods is a must-see on a Friday night in my house. Bring on the Reagans! I really do enjoy crime dramas, but I love them even more when the story lines are as tight as these are—not to mention the pretty cast. 😉 This show has been pretty steady in quality from the series premiere on, and it has yet to let me down.

On tonight’s episode, “The Bitter End,” when a young woman commits suicide, Danny is emotional since he promised to help her when her parents were taken from her. Meanwhile, the Reagans suffer a loss due to the project gangs.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/29/13

Thank God it’s Friday, that’s all I can say. I’m glad it’s the weekend, even though the week didn’t seem to take that long. To usher in the weekend, Kyle & I have a couple of recommendations. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

grimm329smallLast week’s Grimm was good…but the end was awesome! The Wesen—a creepy-ass fly—was sexy with a delicious South African accent as a human, but as a fly? Damn… Blowing this red stuff into his victims’ eyes and filling them with these gross red worms. It was nasty. Thank goodness they were able to capture him and get the cure in time to save Nick’s eyes. The best part? Nick got to keep the super hearing. Awesome. 😀 I’m getting tired of the Juliette story line, though. Hopefully that’ll be wrapped up soon!

On tonight’s episode, “Nameless,” when a gruesome homicide brings an office party to a screeching halt, Nick and Hank find themselves battling a Wesen on a completely new platform: online. Meanwhile, Juliette’s mysterious hallucinations finally start to take shape, giving them a whole new meaning.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/29/13

For some reason, Monday dragged by. I’m ready to put my feet up and watch some great TV, of which there’s plenty tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice #1

ncis129smallThe last new episode of NCIS was pretty heartbreaking. It was the aftermath of the deaths of Vance’s wife and Ziva’s father. Tony just about had me swooning as he tried to take care of Ziva…inviting her grandfather to stay with him because she would be there and he knew she needed the support, even if she said otherwise. I honestly expected Tony to show up on the plane back to Israel, but he wasn’t. In my opinion, that would have been the perfect way to cap that off. And then, of course, there was the murder (that I totally called) of the other guy from Iran (Kazmi) as his transport went boom on the way to the airfield or wherever. I love Oded Fehr, but man, oh man, his character Ilan Bodner is a bad guy!

I’m looking forward to tonight’s episode because we get to see a young Abby and learn more about her past. I absolutely adore her, so this is exciting for me and should be a lot of fun.

On tonight’s episode, “Hit and Run,” the NCIS team investigates a marine’s car accident and ignites some upsetting past memories for Abby as a young girl on the trail of her first “case.”

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/18/12

We’re inching closer and closer to Christmas, and I’m beginning to make plans for what we’ll make for Christmas dinner. My in-laws are coming down, so I know we’re going to cook our turkey (thank you, Michael Symon! It’s delicious every time!), and I need to find a stuffing/dressing recipe. The one we tried for Thanksgiving (also courtesy of Michael Symon…) wasn’t my cup of tea, although my mom really loved it. LOL So I’m thinking maybe I’ll try my hand at my mom’s, even though she doesn’t have a recipe written down. It’ll be interesting to see what she sends me via email… Anyway, there’s still some great TV on tonight to distract us from worrying too much about the upcoming holiday, so check out our recommendations.

ncisla1218smallI debated doing NCIS tonight because Tony’s dad (played by Robert Wagner) is back, but in the end, I gotta go with NCIS: LA. Last week, Deeks was gone (supposedly in court testifying on a case), and I missed him. Granger filled in as Kensi’s partner for a bit, which made her so nervous. In the end, she found out he may be looking to her to fill more of a leadership role soon. Hmm. I hope not! I like how they have the teams now! This week is the Christmas episode, and from the previews, it looks like it’s going to be a cute one. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Free Ride,” Callen, Sam, Kensi, and Deeks spend Christmas aboard an aircraft carrier investigating the death of a fellow NCIS special agent. Meanwhile, Nell and Eric make the most of the holidays back at headquarters and Hetty takes a trip.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/11/12

Winter is coming on full force, and I couldn’t be happier. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! The best part of a snowstorm is being stuck inside with tons of time to watch television (assuming your cable/satellite doesn’t go out). Let’s take a look at what you could be cuddling up watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

Nothing warms you up like a nice dose of hilarity, and The Mindy Project definitely meets the requirement. Mindy is the picture of dysfunctional, which makes her even more delightful. That doctor’s office is exactly what I’d want if I was a doctor, because when they aren’t all serious being doctors, they are full of witty banter back and forth. I wish that Mindy would find her happy place, although that may be counterproductive for our funnybones.

On tonight’s episode, “Josh and Mindy’s Christmas Party,” when Mindy host the company Christmas party at her apartment, she is excited for everyone to finally meet her boyfriend; Jeremy is in charge of distributing the Christmas bonuses.
