The best part of long weekends is how quickly the next week seems to go. Hard to believe it’s already Wednesday, but I couldn’t be happier. What can I say? I love the weekend! 🙂 While I count the hours until Friday is upon us, let’s look at what you should be watching on TV tonight.
Megan’s Choice
Tonight is the series premiere of How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life), and let me tell you, it’s worth checking out. We’ve all seen the pilot (Jenny, Kyle, and myself), and overall, we all enjoyed it. I find myself relating to Polly (Sarah Chalke) more than I realized, and we all have or know parents like hers. (Perhaps I should have considered therapy… Just saying.)
The premise of the show is Polly is a single mom who gets a divorce and moves in with her parents to help with the economic transition. Polly wants to be an involved parent, where Max (Brad Garrett) and Elaine (Elizabeth Perkins) are old-school 1970’s parents who would rather let children learn from their mistakes than be too involved. From her childish ex-husband to the inappropriate conversations at the table, this show makes me giggle and also makes me very glad I no longer live with my parents. You’ll laugh and be oddly disturbed all at once—it’s television at its best!
On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” when Polly moved in with her eccentric parents post-divorce, she told herself it wasn’t forever. Now, a year later, it’s feeling like a life sentence.
To check out this quirky new comedy, tune in to ABC at 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life) @ TV.com.
I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, CSI, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire, Spies of Warsaw, and of course, Duck Dynasty.
