Today is a very special day for my house. My kiddo, who is really not so much a kid anymore, turned 15 years old at 7:15 this morning. *sigh* Time flies, even when you don’t want it to, and even though I love the young man he’s becoming, he’s growing up way too fast for my taste. So I may not be watching too much TV tonight myself because we’ll be doing family stuff together, but there’s plenty on, and we are here to tell you what we think you should be watching. 🙂 (Happy birthday, Josh! 😉 )

Last week’s episode of Chicago Fire was great. Shay survived the crash, and when she told Severide she still wasn’t moving back home, he decided that he needed to get help. He asked Dawson (who had confronted him about being high), and they went to pick Shay up together. Severide said he is ready to get help to kick the painkillers and get the surgery he so desperately needs. I was thrilled because I want to like his character, but the longer he was on the painkillers and ignoring the big pink elephant of his injury, the less I liked him. Then we had Flaco, who went to Casey (who I am so crushing on hard!) about his role in the gang banger’s death. Casey stopped him from admitting it and said to think it over, and if he came back the next shift and told him what he thought he was going to tell him, they would go to the cops. If he shook Casey’s hand, everything would be good.
Speaking of Casey, the whole deal with his mother killing his father because he was abusive? Wow… I mean, I’d guessed it before we found out for certain, but…crazy. Then there was Dawson and Peter Mills… I’ve seen the chemistry between the two of them from the start. I like her with him, rather than Casey, but we’ll see how that plays out, I guess. And finally, Herrmann having to watch the limo bounce as his possible new partner in the limo business got it on with…who I can only presume were hookers in the back seat? Awful, but hysterical. LOL I felt bad for the guy, but the talk with his wife and her no-questions-asked support was fantastic.
This show continues to get better and better every episode. I love all the characters and am totally falling for Matt Casey. He’s beyond yummy. I really do love this show because it is unlike any other show I watch. It’s enough like a cop show, which I love, but it’s different, too. It reminds me a little bit of Third Watch, which will forever be one of my favorite shows.
On tonight’s episode, “Under the Knife,” Severide finally tells Chief Boden about his injury and makes some important personal decisions about his future. Meanwhile, Casey struggles with family matters, and Dawson takes matters into her own hands when she discovers a young girl who is the sole survivor at the scene of a rescue call. Sarah Shahi, Kathleen Quinlan, and Nicole Forester guest star.
See what Chief Boden says about Severide’s injury and future tonight on NBC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Chicago Fire @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Stars in Danger, Guys with Kids, The Neighbors, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Hot in Cleveland, Top Chef, & Happily Divorced.
