I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Be sure to eat lots of turkey, stuffing, and of course, pumpkin pie… yum. I’m Canadian, so I’ve already had Thanksgiving. However, I’m thankful for all of you. Without our readers, we’d have no one to listen to our rambling about TV, so thank you from all of us. 🙂 Okay, let’s see what holiday specials I think you should check out.
Megan’s Choice #1
I love the Ice Age series of movies, so I was so excited when I got a chance to watch the TV special, Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas. There is nothing more thrilling than holiday specials—especially when they are as funny and heart warming as this one.
This special finds our favorite prehistoric family decorating for the holiday season. In his rush to help, Sid (John Leguizamo) destroys Manny’s (Ray Romano) favorite decorations. Manny is so upset, he convinces Sid he is now on Santa’s naughty list. Sid, Crash (Seann William Scott), Eddie (Josh Peck), and Peaches (Ciara Bravo) take off for the North Pole to plead their case to Santa (Billy Gardell). Meanwhile, Manny, Ellie (Queen Latifah), and Diego (Denis Leary) worry over Peaches’ safety and race to find her. Back at the North Pole, Sid and his crew accidentally destroy Santa’s Workshop on Christmas Eve, and it’s up to these newfound friends to orchestrate a Christmas miracle.
To get into the holiday season and let the miracles warm your heart, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.
Megan’s Choice #2
What could be a more entertaining way to spend your Thanksgiving evening than watching A Very Gaga Thanksgiving? Whether you love her, hate her, or are indifferent, there is no denying she’s never boring.
In this 90-minute special, dreamed up and directed by Lady Gaga, we’re going to see an intimate look inside the private life of the award-winning artist as she performs eight songs in front of a small audience filled with her friends and family. She’ll also sit down with Katie Couric and discuss the meaning and inspiration behind some of Gaga’s biggest hits. Look for chef Art Smith to stop by as well, with a menu including deep-fried turkey and waffles. 🙂
I’m excited to see how someone as unique and talented as Gaga celebrates the holiday, and if you are, too, tune in to ABC at 9:30/8:30c.
