Kyle’s Choice
Tonight, FOX has both sides of Easter covered. Before the huge live musical event The Passion, FOX is airing the new animated special, Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade, which puts a prehistoric twist on the origins of the Easter bunny. Sid the Sloth (John Leguizamo) has decided to start a new egg-sitting business, but the locals are all too familiar with his unlucky past with eggs, and no one wants to be his customer. However, a newly-migrated and stressed-out single bird mother (Taraji P. Henson, Empire) and her neighbors, Condor Mom (Wendy Williams), Cholly Bear (Gabriel Iglesias), and Gladys Glypto (Lili Estefan), all decide to leave their eggs with Sid. Meanwhile, pirate bunny Squint (Seth Green, Family Guy) is back – the guys had smashed up his ship in Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, and he wants them to replace it. When they refuse, he sneaks in and takes the eggs as Sid is sleeping, and hides them. Needless to say the parents are furious, and Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary), and Sid are joined by Squint’s twin brother Clint (Blake Anderson, Workaholics) as they go on the world’s first Easter Egg Hunt to find the missing eggs – which Squint has painted to make them harder to find. Meanwhile, possums Eddie (Josh Peck, Grandfathered) and Crash (Seann William Scott) set out to make Peaches the first April Fool; and Scrat continues to seek out that elusive acorn.
If you’re a fan of the Ice Age films, this is a fun, holiday-themed addition to the franchise. All of your favorite characters are back, and they’ve even found several ways to weave in connections to the past films. Plus, during tonight’s special, viewers will get an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming, all-new animated feature film Ice Age: Collision Course, which hits theaters in July.
Go on an egg hunt tonight on FOX at 7:30/6:30c.
I’ll also be watching/recording The Good Wife, The Family, Quantico, The Carmichael Show, Crowded, Hollywood Game Night, The Passion, and The Walking Dead.
