If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/31/12

I’m having so much fun watching the Olympics—well, specifically gymnastics, swimming, & diving. I’ve been surprised by a lot of things so far this year. Michael Phelps isn’t doing as well as I would have expected or had hoped, there was a big shocker at the women’s gymnastics concerning the All-Around… But I’ve been enjoying it all. 🙂 Still, there are other things on tonight, so let’s see what we think you should be watching. 🙂

This season of Covert Affairs has been so different. Jai is dead. Annie has secret feelings for Auggie. Auggie is now engaged to his girlfriend, Parker—who Auggie had to read in so she knows he’s CIA. And Annie’s sister Danielle is reconciling with her husband and moving. Whew! Last week was fun. Auggie, Parker, and two friends of hers from the Peace Corps were kidnapped. The best parts of it were when they had to jump over to the other building and when Annie knew what Auggie would do—and she was right there when he called in to his old office. My biggest complaint about the episode was what I’ve said since the premiere: Annie’s relationships with Joan & Lena. It’s like Annie has suddenly become a puppet for Lena, and I hate that. Up until the end, when she fought for the fact that she knew Auggie best, she was siding solely with Lena, and it pissed me off. Lena is changing Annie—she doesn’t have the loyalty to Joan that I loved in the first two seasons, and she’s gotten heavily involved with an asset.

The last two episodes have been pretty Auggie heavy, but I’ve read that the last few minutes of tonight’s episode changes him and takes him to a dark place for the season. What it is, I have no idea—and to tell the truth, I’m scared to find out!

On tonight’s episode, “Speed of Light,” as the CIA and FBI both investigate a break-in at a high-tech company, Annie reaches out to FBI agent Vincent Rossabi in the hopes of finding out what the thief stole and how it relates to her current assignment for Lena. But her mission quickly becomes more complicated when Simon unexpectedly shows up in D.C. Sarah Clarke, Richard Coyle, Anne Dudek, & Noam Jenins guest star.

Don’t miss an Auggie-changing episode tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Covert Affairs @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing 2012 Olympics, Trust Us With Your Life, Rizzoli & Isles, All the Right Moves, Chopped, & the series premiere of HGTV Design All Stars.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/5/12

It certainly seems like summer has arrived… The temperatures are climbing, great summer TV has begun, and my kid is home (or at least…in the neighborhood! lol) all day. If you need to relax in the air conditioning or just want a chance to hang out in front of the TV, we have three good reasons why you should tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching.

Last season, Rizzoli & Isles left us with kind of a major cliffhanger. Jane told her FBI agent love interest about Maura’s father. Maura went undercover to try to catch the bad guy. Maura’s mob daddy shot the guy before he could hurt her. Jane pointed her gun at mob daddy and told him to drop the weapon. When he raised his gun, seeming like he was going to shoot Jane, Agent Dean, who had surreptitiously followed Jane there, shot him, knocking him back off the platform he was on. So now Maura is mad at Jane, mob daddy is possibly dead or dying, and I bet Jane feels a bit betrayed by secret lover Gabriel Dean. And let’s not forget that shortly before that, Maura’s mother was run down in the street and was in the hospital.

I’ve seen the premiere episode and it pretty much picks up from where the season finale ended. I don’t want to spoil, but I will say if you watched the finale, you won’t want to miss the season premiere. Our favorite weasely ME that isn’t anywhere near as good as Maura is filling in while Maura is off for personal reasons, and he is definitely being himself, which means he’s a bumbling idiot, really. I love this show and I’m so glad it’s back!

On tonight’s episode, “What Doesn’t Kill You,” Jane and Maura’s friendship suffers following the shooting of Maura’s biological father, gangster Paddy Doyle. Jane also finds herself in the middle of an Internal Affairs investigation. And her relationship with Agent Dean is exposed.

Don’t miss it tonight on TNT at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Rizzoli & Isles @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, HGTV Design Star, Chopped, the season premiere of Franklin & Bash, & the season finale of No Kitchen Required.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/6/12

Tonight is exciting for fans of FOX Tuesday comedies, because there are some great episodes, including a season premiere & a spring premiere, but there’s also some great dramas on, so check out our picks for what you should be watching!

How much do I love that Jimmy & Sabrina are now a couple on Raising Hope? I am still a little worried that it will screw up the dynamics of the show, but I have to trust Greg Garcia & the writers to do right by the viewers. Last week was fun, what with the two of them trying to figure out whether to truly be themselves or to hide the quirks and flaws…and farts. *laugh* It’s something almost every new couple has to deal with. Seeing Sabrina’s quirk about sleeping with pantyhose on her head because she was afraid of spiders crawling into her head when she slept was great. And then that fear landed Jimmy in the hospital? Fantastic. I can’t wait to see where they take this.

On tonight’s episode, “Single White Female Role Model,” Sabrina is arrested after participating in an Occupy Natesville protest and is sentenced to two weeks in prison. One of the prison attendant’s (special guest star Katy Perry!) claims to be a friend from her past and will stop at nothing to make Sabrina’s stay in the slammer as dreadful as possible until she remembers their childhood friendship. Meanwhile, the mayor of Natesville grants Virginia three wishes after she helps her avoid a public scandal, but when Jimmy turns down the mayor’s advances, Sabrina’s chances of being exonerated are put at risk.

Laugh along with the crazy tonight on FOX in its new time slot at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Raising Hope @ Clicker.

Interview with Erica Dasher from Jane By Design

ABC Family’s newest show, Jane By Design, has been a big success so far. I’m loving the great storylines and the fun banter between the characters. This is a very dynamic cast, led by the adorable Erica Dasher.

Erica was kind enough to take some time to speak with some journalists recently, and it was a really fun interview. We discussed her working relationships with the cast, best parts of filming, and even some chat about what they do in their off time.

Jump ahead to see what Kyle and I spoke with her about. Continue reading

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/10/12

Well, what a birthday celebration we had last night. It was just the three of us, but we made pizzas for dinner, had a special birthday dessert (My kid hates cake… Who hates cake?!), and played Uno and In a Pickle. It was fun. Plus, I got to watch a new episode of Castle. It doesn’t get much better than that! There’s some great stuff on tonight, too, so check out what we think you should watch!

I still really love watching Body of Proof. They do a good job of making Megan getting more in touch with her human side, rather than the almost robotic doctor she had become before she had to quit due to the problem with her hand. Almost every week, we see a little growth, or just a different side to her personality. Like last week, she dealt a lot with her young teenage daughter’s insecurities and wanting to change how she looked and dressed. It hit Megan hard, and I just wanted her to realize that there was something going on besides just what it seemed was obvious. And there was. I loved the talk between the two at the end. Another great part of the episode was all the stuff between Curtis and Ethan, and Ethan and Dani/Peter. I want Peter and Megan together, but he’s cute when he’s with Dani. Of course, the previews for tonight show a LOT of tension between Megan and Peter over the case, and that’s always fun. 😉

On tonight’s episode, “Shades of Blue,” when an undercover cop is found executed at a truck stop, the search for the killer hits close to home. Brett Cullen (Make It or Break It, The Gates), Deirdre Lovejoy (Bones, The Wire), and Ransford Doherty (guest starred multiple times on Body of Proof, The Closer) guest star.

Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Body of Proof @ Clicker.
