If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/11/14

We are only a week away from Easter weekend, and I am looking forward to a long weekend, as well as some chocolate, because let’s face… It chocolate is always exciting. Unfortunately, that’s next week, so let’s take a look at what we’re recommending on TV tonight to keep my mind off (lack of) the chocolate.

kitchennightmaressmallI am very excited that tonight is the season premiere of Kitchen Nightmares, meaning we get a double dose of Gordon Ramsay in one week, which is never a bad thing in my opinion. It’s not just my love of Ramsay that causes me to tune in to this show, though. It’s the fact that I love watching failing restaurants get a chance to turn things around. There may also be the fact that I enjoy giggling at the plain stupidity some of these owners and kitchen staff show us time and time again. I mean honestly, you’d think I’d be sick of it by now, but I simply can’t get enough of all of it. If I know Ramsay, then this season is going to be just as interesting and amusing as all the rest.

On tonight’s 2-hour episode, “Return to Amy’s Baking Company/Pantaleone’s,” first, Chef Ramsay revisits Amy’s Baking Company to find out how the business has fared since the media firestorm that occurred a year ago, and then he tries to convince a restaurant owner that he no longer serves the best pizza in Denver.

To see what Amy’s has been up to and if he can help another restaurant owner, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Unforgettable, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, and Grimm.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/10/13

I could blab on about how awesome Friday is and how it’s long awaited, but you’ve probably already checked your Facebook. Instead, I’m just going to save you some time and tell you what you should be watching on TV tonight.

bluebloods510smallWe’ve come to the end of the season for Blue Bloods, and after last week’s episode, I am confident in saying that they are going to finish strong. I was so upset when that young woman jumped off the building with her newborn. Suicide is tragic enough without having a child involved. Danny felt responsible because he was the lead detective on the case when that young woman’s parents were murdered years earlier. He’d vowed to protect her and her sister and feels he failed. Then, as if the episode wasn’t tragic enough, Jaime’s smart-mouthed partner, Vinny, was shot down in a trap in the very gang-run neighbourhood he grew up in. If that episode is any indication, I’m going to need kleenex tonight, too.

On tonight’s season finale, “This Way Out,” as the Reagans rally together to take down the leader of the gang responsible for the murder of someone close to them, Danny looks to the gang leader’s girlfriend to lead them to him. Meanwhile, Frank is left reeling from a second loss.

To wrap up the season with my favorite crime-fighting family, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/3/13

As I am writing this, I am listening to P!NK’s most recent album, and I have to say, it’s pretty fierce. It’s true that television is my favorite media, but music is a close second. In TV land, our favorite shows are getting ready to hibernate for the summer, but at least a few are still around tonight to amuse us. Let’s check it out.

bluebloods53smallBlue Bloods is a must-see on a Friday night in my house. Bring on the Reagans! I really do enjoy crime dramas, but I love them even more when the story lines are as tight as these are—not to mention the pretty cast. 😉 This show has been pretty steady in quality from the series premiere on, and it has yet to let me down.

On tonight’s episode, “The Bitter End,” when a young woman commits suicide, Danny is emotional since he promised to help her when her parents were taken from her. Meanwhile, the Reagans suffer a loss due to the project gangs.

To see how Danny deals, tune in to CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ TV.com.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/1/13

I love the weekend because it means I have my family all together and I have some time to catch up on some missed TV. Lately, I’ve been behind on a lot. Although, I am also excited for this weekend because Breaking Dawn: Part 2 comes out tomorrow… I missed it in the theatres. So while we all enjoy some downtime, check out what you should be watching tonight to get your weekend started right.

kitchennightmaressmallFriday night simply isn’t complete without the voice of Gordon Ramsay chastising restaurant owners echoing in my living room on Kitchen Nightmares. I can’t help but watch these train wrecks get salvaged by Ramsay, especially because he’s actually quite helpful and kind when he needs to be—although the yelling and freaking out is far more entertaining. 🙂 There are times after watching this show that I’m not sure I ever want to eat out in a restaurant again because of some of the dirty kitchens we see. It’s nice to know that Ramsay has incredible standards, but I try to pretend like all the chefs in my area have the same standards so I can still eat pizza out without thinking about dirty kitchens. (I mean, have you seen some of that rotten food? *shiver*)

On tonight’s episode, “Mill Street Bistro, Part 1,” Ramsay visits Mill Street Bistro in Ohio to try to turn the eatery around; the restaurant’s owner acts like a dictator and has difficulty listening to others’ opinions.

To watch Ramsay make this restaurant a democracy, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Kitchen Nightmares @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Touch and Spartacus.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/25/13

I would be looking forward to this weekend, except I’m going to be spending all day tomorrow helping get a house ready to go on the market—painting, cleaning, and so much more. Blah. On the bright side, I have tonight’s line up of television to help me unwind and mentally prepare for the work tomorrow. Let’s see what you should be watching.

kitchennightmaressmallSome would say that Gordon Ramsay is anything but relaxing. I would have to disagree. 🙂 Kitchen Nightmares amuses me to no end, and it makes me giggle with delight when Ramsay has to school people. Perhaps I may be slightly sadistic, but I enjoy watching clueless people learn lessons—it’s soothing. Regardless of why I watch, I find that every episode keeps me interested, and it should be a must-watch for you, as well.

On tonight’s episode, “Olde Hitching Post,” Chef Ramsay confronts the owner of the Olde Hitching Post in Massachusetts, who refuses to allow his daughter and co-owner of the eatery have any say.

To see how Ramsay deals with this control freak issue, tune into FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Kitchen Nightmares @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Spartacus and Four Weddings.
