TV News – 9/29/10

Anyone have the Wednesday mid week slumps or are you all still in a happy place after last night’s Brittany Spears Glee? While it wasn’t a blockbuster episode, it was a lot of fun and I loved all the Finn/Rachel interactions. Enough about yesterday let’s talk about today’s news. 🙂

In case you’ve been living under a rock and missed the news, the first casualty of the new fall season has been announced. Lone Star only got to have two episodes air, but it’s competition was too great and the ratings just weren’t there. FOX has pulled the freshman drama, and bumped up the premiere of Lie To Me to next Monday at 9 pm. I don’t know how I feel about this. While I was one of the few TV journalists who didn’t love the show, I think it needed a few more weeks to find it’s footings or perhaps a different night? Let’s hear your thoughts on the cancellation below. Source

Interview with James Wolk & Executive Producer Amy Lippman from Lone Star

Star James Wolk and Executive Producer Amy Lippman recently spoke to the press about their new drama, Lone Star, which starts tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

This provocative soap is set against the backdrop of big Texas oil. Robert/Bob Allen (newcomer James Wolk) is a charismatic and brilliant schemer who has meticulously constructed two lives in two different parts of Texas. He’s juggling two identities and two women in two very different worlds – all under one mountain of lies. As “Bob,” he lives in Houston and is married to CAT (Adrianne Palicki, Friday Night Lights), the beautiful daughter of Clint (Jon Voight, 24), the patriarch of an ultra-wealthy Texas oil family. More than 400 miles away in the suburban west Texas town of Midland, he’s “Robert,” living a second life with his sweet, naive girlfriend, Lindsay (Eloise Mumford, Mercy, Law & Order: SVU).

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/20/10

I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited the new season is starting! There are a TON of shows on tonight. In fact, our recommendations are the premieres of 3 of brand new shows, so let’s get to it!

Jenny’s Choice

One of the most anticipated new shows of the new season is Hawaii Five-0 on CBS at 10/9c. This is the contemporary take on the classic series about a new elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the Islands’ sun-drenched beaches. It stars Alex O’Loughlin (Three Rivers, Moonlight) as Detective Steve McGarrett, Scott Caan (Entourage) as Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (yes, as in the line: Book ’em Danno!), Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) as Chin Ho Kelly, and Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica, The Cleaner) as Chin’s cousin, Kono. The reviews so far have been great, and any show starring Alex O is worth watching. 😉

TV News – 8/17/10

Have you ever had a Tuesday that was so difficult it was more like a Monday? Today was one of those Tuesdays for me! I was a few minutes behind for everything today, and I just couldn’t get caught up. That would be why today’s news is so late! 🙂 Enough about my tardiness let’s talk news.

Chad Faust (The 4400) has been cast in the new drama, Lone Star. It will be a recurring role, and he’ll be playing the ex-husband of Cat Thatcher (Adrianne Palicki). Faust’s character will be trying to prove that he’s changed from his days of the irresponsible, unfaithful husband. The questions is… did he? I guess we’ll find out. Source
