If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/22/13

It was a busy weekend around my house, but the highlight for my daughter has to be an afternoon of driving her ATV. She is all decked out with safety gear of course, including a really cool helmet that she loves. It may give me slight heart palpitations at times, but she really has a love for driving—next step, her own dirt bike (and Valium for me!). To take my mind off how quickly my little girl is growing up, let’s see what’s on TV tonight.

thefollowing422smallThe Following is still managing to make me sit on the edge of my seat week after week—especially last week! We watched as Joey was rescued, much to the help of Jacob, who gave him up when Ryan persuaded him. I’m not sure where Jacob is going in the future, but I was interested to see Jacob and Emma being together after Joe was mean to Emma. Claire was happy her son was free, but tried to make Joe leave Joey alone by using his need for her to love him against him. She stabbed Joe, and while he survived, he is very angry and is planning on killing Claire now. I am definitely curious to see where the show goes in the last two episodes.

On tonight’s episode, “The End is Near,” Weston, Parker, and Ryan plan on storming the mansion, but Joe has already orchestrated his escape; followers cause a distraction at the town evacuation center, leading to confusion and the abduction of an FBI official.

To see who gets grabbed by the followers, tune in to FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Followers @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching Bones, The Voice, and Bates Motel.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/4/13

March is coming in like a lion here in Ontario. What’s it like in your area? I’m happy that March is here, but it seems like this year is flying by already, and before we know it, our favorite shows will be going on hiatus. 🙁 Before I get too sad about saying goodbye to my favorites, let’s enjoy the new TV that we have tonight.

Megan’s Choice

bones34smallBones has been really solid this season so far, and I am loving the dynamics of all the relationships on the show. Of course, Booth and Brennan are by far my main concern. That said, I have been enjoying how involved in the cases Angela has been becoming to help her get out of the office more. Last week’s episode introduced us to a new intern, Oliver, who was so incredibly intelligent, he almsot appeared smarter than Brennan. It was crazy. I also loved the part where Brennan talked about how happy she is with Booth and their daughter. It was really sweet.

On tonight’s episode, “The Survivor in the Soap,” the Jeffersonian team investigates the death of Symchay Conteh, a young man whose remains were found in a barrel at a hazardous waste disposal facility. They discover that the victim was an immigrant from Sierra Leone working numerous part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. Meanwhile, as the team gets deeper into the investigation, Cam and Arastoo find it even more difficult to keep their relationship a secret, and Brennan and Booth try to decide on a vacation destination.

To see if Cam and Arastoo’s secret gets discovered, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Bones @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching The Bachelor and The Following.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/14/13

Sorry this is late. My kiddo is sick with the flu that’s going around (although this morning, I’m wondering if it’s strep…), so I haven’t been sleeping well…until last night, when I crashed just after midnight and slept until noon… But there’s lots on tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching.

Jenny’s Choice #1

bones114asmallYay, Bones is back! We haven’t had a new episode in almost a month and a half, and tonight, we’re getting two. I’ve seen both episodes, and they are both just as great as you can expect. Over the course of the last couple of episode, Angela has been becoming increasingly dissatisfied with her job—or rather, not the job itself but the fact that she seems to have lost the artist side of herself. That comes to a head tonight and comes with a resolution that I hope will be good for her yet not take her away from the show (if that makes sense!). Sweets is still staying with Booth & Brennen, which makes me laugh, especially because there’s a cute moment for them. The show got picked up for season 9 recently, so YAY!

bones114bsmallOn tonight’s first episode, “The Diamond in the Rough,” the Jeffersonian team investigates the death of a professional ballroom dancer who was murdered three days before her audition on a popular dancing competition show. In order to solve the case, Brennan and Booth go undercover as dance competitors to see if they can find potential suspects. Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio, Dmitry Chaplin, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, & Eliana Girard from So You Think You Can Dance, & Vaitiare Au-Harehoe from Dance Your Ass Off guest star.

Then on the second episode, “The Archaeologist in the Cocoon,” the team investigates the murder of a well-known archeologist with a questionable reputation, who came upon a career-defining discovery right before his death. Amy Yasbeck guest stars.

Don’t miss both fun new episodes tonight on FOX at 8/7c & 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Bones @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/14/12

Yesterday, I got the itch to change things up and got my hair cut shorter again and dyed it blue/black—I’m loving it. Sometimes, a little change is all we need to give us a pick me up—and that’s what today is, as well! It’s the first time in a while there has been decent Friday television for me to suggest, so let’s get to it.

Megan’s Choice

Tonight is a new, previously-unaired, episode of Touch, and I am looking forward to it. This show captured the hearts and minds of so many people when it debuted last spring. I love the relationship between Martin (Kiefer Sutherland) and his son Jake—it’s a complicated but moving connection. Jake is a special boy, and his ability to deal with numbers has helped save many people. I’m really curious where they are going to go with this and exactly when we’re going to figure everything out about Jake.

On tonight’s episode, “The Road Not Taken,” after Martin’s car breaks down in the place where he got his first job as a reporter, he risks losing an old friend when he suspects that his mentor is part of something illegal.

To see what tangled webs Martin runs into, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Touch @ Clicker.

Interview with Anna Silk & Ksenia Solo from Lost Girl

Anna Silk and Ksenia Solo, stars of Syfy’s Lost Girl, recently spoke to the press about the show, about the recognition they have received after the show premiered in the U.S., and lots more. The show is just beginning to film Season 3 in Canada, so there might be slight spoilers in the answers they give.

Anna Silk stars as seductress Bo, a Succubus (a powerful female entity in folklore) who feeds off sexual energy. Raised by human parents, Bo had no reason to believe she was anything other than the girl next door – until she “drained” her first boyfriend to death. In the premiere episode, Bo discovers she is one of the Fae, creatures of legend who pass as humans while secretly feeding off them. Faced with choosing between an allegiance to the Dark or Light Fae clans, Bo takes the middle path between the human and Fae worlds while embarking on a mission to unlock the secrets of her origin.

Lost Girl co-stars Kris Holden-Ried as Dyson, a homicide detective and Bo’s love interest; Ksenia Solo as Kenzi, Bo’s confidante; Zoie Palmer as Lauren, a doctor who competes for Bo’s heart; Rick Howland as Trick, the mysterious bartender at The Dal Riata Tavern, and K.C. Collins as Hale, Dyson’s partner on the force. Notable guest stars include Emmanuelle Vaugier as “The Morrigan,” the leader of the Dark Fae.
