If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/26/12

Did you guys have a good weekend? Mine wasn’t too bad, although I didn’t get much sleep, so I know my Monday is going to crawl. It’s a pretty slow night with CBS not airing new episodes and stuff, but there are some great things on, so check out what we think you should be watching!

Jenny’s Choice

The highlights of last week’s Castle episode for me were two things: One was Martha trying to bury the hatchet with a theater critic who had given her a scathing review years before. When she had the woman over for dinner, it…did not go well. lol Martha ended up telling her off, and the two women parted ways again as the woman stormed off in a huff. Then at the end of the episode, it turned out Martha had taken Castle’s advice about making her an offer she couldn’t refuse – and now the critic is going to come see Martha’s acting studio and give a write up in her column in exchange for Castle reading her book and giving it to his agent. *laugh* He was not happy. The other highlight was the banter back and forth between Ryan and Espisito. Newly married Ryan thought for sure it was his wedding ring that was keeping women from noticing him or flirting with him. Espisito pointed out that it wasn’t the ring itself but the obvious happiness Ryan felt because of his wife and marriage. He proved that by wearing Ryan’s ring when they had to go question someone at a strip club for the case and the stripper still flirted with him instead of Ryan. (And the best part of the episode was Ryan not wanting Castle to go with them because he knew the women would be all about Richard Castle if he were there. lol) And then…we got the preview for this week’s episode, and it nearly sent me into a tizzy. I cannot WAIT.

On tonight’s episode, “47 Seconds,” when a bomb explodes at a protest rally, killing five people, Castle & Beckett realize the key to solving the case is to reconstruct the 47 seconds prior to the explosion. Using video and witness accounts, they uncover the shocking truth about who planted the bomb. Christine Woods (Perfect Couples) & Tim Guinee (The Good Wife) guest star.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/23/11

Wow, you can definitely tell it’s at the tail end of the 2010/2011 television season, because there is almost nothing on network TV tonight. There are a few things on that I don’t watch, though, so check out below what we think the best of your choices tonight are.

Jenny’s Choice

Honestly, the only things on tonight that I watch are on the Food Network (gotta love Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives and Guy Fieri!), and I might watch the season premiere of The Bachelorette. I doubt I’ll watch all season, though, because I’m not a big fan of Ashley Hebert, who was one of the final three on the last season of The Bachelor. She’s nice, sweet, kinda cute, I guess, but something about her just…bugs me. I wasn’t planning to watch it at all, but the promos for the premiere look hysterical. (And ok, I may have to keep watching, because some of those guys? Whew!)

Tonight, Ashley meets 25 hot, single (supposedly, remember the men we’ve seen the last few seasons? *rolls eyes*) men and by the end of the night, will have narrowed it down to the top 15. Fun stuff.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/25/11

Ugh, well, Happy Monday to everyone. Josh is home sick again, with a stomachache and…I’ll be nice and say intestinal issues. lol Poor kid. So I got up late, am running behind, and therefore, the Remote post is late. Sorry! On a good note, I get to go see one of 2 showings this weekend of Top Gun, one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME, because of the 25th Anniversary. Plus, I get a theatre-sized Top Gun poster! That’s theatre-size Tom Cruise! And as my husband pointed out, that’s young, HOT Tom Cruise, not creepy, old scientology Tom Cruise! *laugh* Anyway, on to what we think you should be watching tonight.

Jenny’s Choice

There isn’t a lot on tonight, unfortunately. But I’m definitely looking forward to watching the new episode of Better with You with my husband. I’ve seen tonight’s episode already, but he hasn’t, and it’s a good one! When the show first started, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. In fact, when I saw the pilot before it aired on TV, I *didn’t* like it. But then I watched it again when it came out, and it has now become one I genuinely look forward to each week. I love something about each of the characters, and that’s kind of rare for me. Normally, there is at least one character I don’t particularly like, or find more annoying that anything, but not on this show. Also, if you are a fan of Dancing With the Stars, you’ll want to stick around for tonight’s ep of Better with You, because my fave pro dancer on that series guest stars on this one!

On tonight’s episode, Casey realizes that Mia has two left feet during their first wedding dance lesson, and he asks the dance instructor (guest star Derek Hough) to keep his secret after bombing his moves. Ben asks Larry King for advice on handling a spat he had with Maddie about Vicky and Joel. (Yes, it’s really Larry King. lol)

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/18/11

Sorry this is up so late today. I absolutely crashed last night before I had a chance to write this up, then I woke up right before lunch, so I’m just now getting to it. Late or not, there’s lots of great TV on tonight–so much that Megan and I both are recommending multiple shows! So check out what we all think you should watch!

Jenny’s Choice #1

Last week was the first episode of Chuck in a couple of weeks, and ratings were down. Did you forget to watch? It was a big episode, what with the Volkoff father & daughter returning. C’mon, people! This is a great show with an even more fantastic a cast. It needs our support! Tonight’s episode promises to be huge, too, as Gary Cole returns as Sarah’s father, and Clare Carey (who you might recognize from Jericho) is back as Alex’s mother.

On tonight’s episode, Chuck and Sarah find that they have been conned out of their wedding money, and the only man they feel they can turn to is Sarah’s conman father. Morgan lays the pressure on Casey, trying to make him face the mother of his daughter.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/31/10

The last day in August brings us one day closer to the end of summer and premiere of all our favorite fall shows. Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves though, we need to get through tonight first! 🙂
 

Megan’s Choice

Tonight I think you should all be watching the summer finale of Make It or Break It at 9/8c on ABC Family.

Last week, Damon returned and stirred up emotions for Emily. Lauren’s mom died in a car accident and Kaylie’s mom found out about her eating disorder. That’s all on top of the whole gym finding out that Payson kissed Sasha! Whew.. busy girls. This week we see the girls compete for the world’s team and we see a lot of drama come to a head. Will Emily go to jail? Will Sasha really quit the Rock? Find out tonight on an all new episode of Make It or Break It at 9/8c on ABC Family.
