If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/10/12

I have to say once more that I am so glad it’s the new season of TV. There’s been SO many good things on, and tonight is no different. I have a lot going on in my real life, so having some great new TV on tonight to distract me is a good thing. So check out what we think you should be watching tonight. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

My pick tonight is the series premiere of Arrow on The CW. Here’s a quick blurb: After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory.”

One of my favorite characters on Smallville was Oliver, so I was kind of excited when I heard they were doing a show about the Green Arrow. Of course, at the time, I was hoping they would cast the same actor who guest starred on the other show, but when details started coming out about Arrow, I was okay with it all. The lead, Stephen Amell, is…quite hot. lol And the trailer for the show, where it had him doing the climbing bar thing (that was always one of the hardest parts of American Ninja Warrior when my family & I watched it!) and shooting the arrows was…also quite hot. LOL But it was also really cool and made me want to watch even more. The only thing I have to wonder about is his ex-girlfriend’s name: Laurel Lance. Sounds a lot like Lana Lang. LOL So silly. *shrug* Starring alongside Stephen are Colin Donnell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, and Paul Blackthorne.

On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” five years after a shipwreck left him stranded on a remote island, Oliver Queen is discovered and returned home to those closest to him; Oliver tries to right the wrongs of society and his family by creating a secret vigilante persona known as Arrow.

Don’t miss the exciting premiere tonight on The CW at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Arrow @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Animal Practice, Survivor, Guys with Kids, The Neighbors, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Restaurant: Impossible, Cajun Pawn Stars, Chicago Fire, & Restaurant Stakeout.

Jenny’s Thoughts: It looks good, scary, but may be way too complicated and “Lost-y” for me. – Most likely 1 and done
Megan’s Thoughts: This was an intense trailer, and I’m loving the dark edge to it. I enjoyed seeing Terry O’Quinn in this, and I’m glad he has a regular series. He plays evil well. – Excited
Kyle’s Thoughts: I think the “made by” Gossip Girl/PLL folks said a lot – looks like a CW show but with an older cast. A cross between The Shining, American Horror Story, and The Firm. – Most likely 1 and done.
